Your double exposure photo is just so great it inspired my to get a camera. I had a film camera 20 years ago, but I’m paralyzed shoulders down. I can move my arms a bit, can’t use hands. I just got so frustrated. All the cost in film, and few turned out. I can’t aim fast or often can’t get in good position. It may be slow, but I can do this. So I just got a new camera. Thanks You So Much, I’d love to send you copies of my first few attempts.
Roo Dog Hey just read this. Hope you’re smashing it with great photography 🤩👍
how are you typing tho
Ruger speech to text ? lots of ppl use it
Dang! This is probably the best tutorial I've seen on multiple exposures with the Mark III. Going out to try it now.
I want to double thank you for this. You have opened my eyes to a whole new world. I never knew this was on my camera (canon 6D). Now this is all I think about doing. Thanks for the tips. You explained it wonderfully.
While doing it in post is more flexible and more controlling, I just doesn't quite capture the raw capture of doing it manually in camera like how you showed us. Thank you so much for this simple and brief tutorial on how to do it on a 5D Mark III. Informative, simple explanation, and right to the point. Excellent!
Love, love these images. I've been admiring them for months and I've just purchased a 5D Mark III to try my hand at this. Haven't shot double exposure in camera since my last film camera with a manual advance. I'm excited and very much looking forward to this.
your photos are great SaraK. I really like the one in your slideshow at the beginning with the groomsmen and bridesmaids! Thank you for the tutorial.
Thanks for a short, clear, but informative tutorial! Just got the 7dM2 yesterday and am looking forward to spending some time with it.
Thanks, this was an excellent step by step. I just purchased a Canon 7D Mark II and couldn't figure out how to do an "in camera" double exposure. The first one came out great and looking to do more. You explained it well and the examples were very helpful.
Fantastic !!! Did not even know that my camera had this feature. And in addition stunning good tips from a smart, talented and beautiful woman. thank you!!!
Thankyou Sarah, I really love that type of photography and your tutorial made it look so easy. I must now upgrade my camera to a 5d.
This is a great feature of the 5d mark iii which i have yet much time to experiment with and ideal for those that do not have photoshop and a bonus if you do where you can further enhance your photographs. Thanks for sharing!
This is amazing and inspirational! I don't have a Mark III yet, but when I do, I am definitely going to try this technique!!! Love, love it! Thanks for sharing your beautiful images with us!
Thanks for this. I am in love with the effect and happy that Canon put this in the 6D if a little stripped down.
Best tutorial on double exposures I've seen so far on the web, lovely :D
This is great. Had no idea my Mark III could do this...can't wait to try it out. Thanks!
Absolutely brilliant. Your photos blew me away and I've attempted to do the same today with very exciting results. Thank you so much for the awesome tutorial, and keep on taking awesome images. :D (for the record, I did this with my Fujifilm X T1.)
Really Great video. I've been shooting for a long time but never tried it on Digital . I guess I'm gonna give it a try now .
Love this, Sarah! Thank you for adding to the photo community and helping us all out! Beautiful work.
Thank you for this video. I didn't know the 5dmarkiii did all of that on the camera. It makes me want it even more. But for the time, I will learn everything the long way on my 70d. It has the options just have to go through a few menus to get to.
Nice pictures, Sara. Sometimes I use this technique during interview or for different portraits to our newspaper (links are blocked here, sorry).
Fascinating, and imaginative. Thank you, just discoverd my 70D does this too. I'm off to create!
Great work Sara. Expects more video on this subject in future.
Thank you so much for the video Sarah. 🌹🌹The possibles are endless on how creative you want to be.
Thank you very much Sara, This is what people want to see: a clear set of instructions with suitably embedded images at the right places. Straight forward & concise. I have been told this mode is capable of taking 9 images. I want to create a multiple of a sporting event. How can do this please? Best wishes
This helped me out a lot! I ended up finding out that my camera has this feature which I was sooo crazy excited about ! Thank you!
I loved the tutorial! I am new so I wasnt able to reproduce the beautiful image. I figured it out after playing and not giving up! I was shooting in jpg, I switched to RAW, still had a tough time using the back image in live view. This isn't easy as it looks for me. I was able to do one but couldn't reproduce a second one. :( Thank you for the Tutorial! Going to try again and come back and look at the video again. Never Give Up!
yeye, I have the 6D and I just found out the feature. Its been a long time since I experimented with concept shoots. Now Its time to kill it. Thanks Sara, Keep on shooting and share the good stuffs.
This is a SUPER HELPFUL tutorial, thanks for taking the time, and offering really useful examples 🤩👍
Thank's for this GREAT tutorial.
Can i use ligthroom to did this? Cuz i got a canon t3.
Thank you so much for making this video. I know this is for photos but this inspired me to figure out how to make it work for video. I didn't have a white background (professional studio) so I took your method and pointed it directly in the sky. Don't want to say to much cause I'm gonna make a tut but I just wanted to say thank you!!!!!!
Awesoooome... I had no idea one could do this. Thank you very much Sara...
This video really helped me out. I tried it out on my Nikon d300 it turned out pretty good, I'm going to be practicing this with my boy.
Really well explained and very helpful. Thank you Sara
Glad I have this option on my Panasonic GH3. Just tried out, but it's too cloudy right now to be satisfied.
Great tutorial on in camera double exposure on the Canon 5D Mark III.
That live view tip was just what I was missing! thanks for that tip!
i LOVE the way you edit all of your photos! :)
Wow, thank you for being so generous and sharing this technique.
another thought....as a fellow photographer who loves this technique.....ive always thought that if I didn't take the two pictures back to back and create the image 'in-camera' then it is really not a true multiple exposure. it basically becomes an image overlay. what are your thoughts Sara????
Great tutorial :D but i got a question Sara..if i shot two picts like you did, a silhouette and the top-of-the-tree, could i combine them using Screen method on Photoshop and obtain the same result? thank you so much :)
Is liveview a pretty standard feature when it comes to cameras with double exposure? I'm looking at the K-50 but feel like the liveview on your canon is a necessary feature for the best shots
Problaly
Wow, I love this tutorial. Hopefully I can figure out how to do something similar with my older digital camera.
I personally prefer the camera if it's you this feature, but you can do that in Photoshop, it´s easy and you can obtain same result. I hope this will be useful.
I have a D5100 and yes, it has the multiple exposure option.
Thanks for sharing this video. Can it be done with Canon 7D
This is so creative!
Are there any Nikon cameras that have the same function?
Thank for showing how to do it on the 5D Mark 3. greatings from Sean in Australia.
Thank you SO much for creating this video! It was so easy to follow along with!
Than you very much for sharing and showing your beautiful photos!
Works on the D90, love it, thank you Sara!
Thank you …. Been meaning to try this with moon and planets. Great tutorial.
This is the best tutorial everrr...
Thanks for the lovely video Sara ! Really helpful !
Hey Sara, absolutely love your work and thanks for sharing this! How did you first come up with the idea?
Sara this is amazing tutorial. Love your work!!!
These are AWESOME! Brilliant tutorial.. Now if only I could afford a 5d MK III !
nice share sara
btw i just confuse with the settings when i'm doing some multiple exposure
i want ask u about when we mix 2 or 3 pictures how u control the apreture
(like picture 1 is brighter than picture 2)
thx
I didn't even realize I needed to see this video until just now when I saw it o.O
It was exactly what I needed! Thank you!
Thanks for sharing your technique Sara. Greetings form Spain !
Such a pity I don't think my 7D has such a feature, but your pictures are stunning!
A good explanation of the technique
Thanks Sara!
Thank you so much for sharing this, Sara. Brilliant!
I assume you post process afterwards in order to remove the parts you don't want showing in the image?
very helpful indeed. great video. u should make a lot more tutorials like these... good job!
Best video for awesome double exposures. Thanks
Do you have an tips for the touch up to really enhance the image quality in photoshop as well? Really good in camera tutorial. I just want to know how to make it go the home run.
Brilliant photos! I love the fact that you didn't use photoshop... People underestimate what can be done with the minimum/no post-process if you take the time and use your brain more than your mouse :)
Are there any possible ways to do it with a canon rebel? Man that was amazing.
Thanks so much for a real tutorial, and a clear explanation of how this works.
can you help with which settings i should use for double exposure besides the ones in the video....like f stop, exposure time??? really just help with how to blowout photos
Lovely technique. I'm using a Nikon D7100 and have been trying to acheive this. For the first shot, do we need to set the exposure comp + or minus?
Beautiful, beautiful work.
Sara, thanks a lot for the tutorial. I would like to ask you a question about the process: You have to take a picture, the portrait before, over a plain background, white or overexposed first if I did understand. Then you take the second picure for the texture, but... The second picture has to be well exposed, or underexposed..? I don't get the way that the camera takes part of one picture over the other...
this is fantastic , thank you so much Sara, i'm grateful
Nice work. What lens are you using in the video. Also can I do this with my t3i
Hi Sara, I have the Canon 5D mark3 and I have been practicing with double exposures. I am over exposing using the exposure compensation to blow out the background for the first image but I am unsure whether or not I am supposed to underexpose prior to taking the second image. I would really appreciate it if you wouldn't mind pointing me in the right direction as to the settings. I am using additive as you mentioned in your video . Please can you help me! Regards Andy
Excellent, thanks for sharing your insights.
is it possible to do mulitiple exposure with the 60D? or would i have to create this effect in photoshop?
GREAT video, well executed. I'm just curious as to how you choose the base image? or the top image? you said you can choose them from earlier in the day, but you didn't show us how to do that, also you didn't show us how to maybe invert it all so putting the trees inside the head silhouette like your photos :( which photo do you take first? sorry for all the questions but i didn't get any of that info from the vid, and i love the effect! :)
Hey Sara! What chairs are those? They look awesome!
Thanks for being willing to answer questions!
I am having trouble selecting an older photo to combine with the next image. When I select this, my camera only shows the double exposures I have already taken as compatible. What am I doing wrong?
I love your tutorial and your pictures!! I have a question, do you know if you can do double exposures with canon t4i?
nope. you can only double expose with full frame bodies.
:( thanks!
Thank you so much for doing this! I didn't realize how simple it was. :)
Love this so much. Crazy amounts of creativity spawning from this, thank you! By the way works on the 70D :)
how did you do this on canon 70D? Can you tell me please?
Esther Colpaert Im at work, so i dont have my 70d with me, u need to put the camera on M mode, on one of the first menus there is a "Double Exposure" option, open that and change the settings.
Very cool! I just have a t3i but now I know when I upgrade I can do some cools stuff, thanks!
Sweet many thanks for sharing and good luck with your photography 😊😊🙏🏼🙏🏼
Any chance you could tell me where to find the setting for layering exposures? I'm presuming the Olympus E420 has the same capability and I merely lack the ability to find them.
Can you do this with other Canon cameras? If so, which ones?
Great video! I'd love to see more similar to these!
Love the banjo in the background, do you actually play?
So do you shoot the subject first before you shoot the image you want to double expose in the background?
The D300 from 07 has had this feature. And does the D800. However, I think Canon has improved upon it. For now...
Thank you so much! I can't wait to try this!!
Thank you soo much Sara! I'm brazilian and i really love your feeling!
thanks for sharing!!! amazing shots.
Very good. Got right down to the business without a ton of flowery talk. Good job.
I'll just ask here: is it only possible with Nikon cameras? I personally own a Sony, does it have a similar function?
Very interesting. You know how I can do that in Canon 7D?
How do you actually make a silhouette? What settings do you suggest?
How I would I do this with my canon 60d? I can only find a menu that lets me take bracket multiple exposure and not two. Also I use lightroom
