O Finbar what a wonderful talent you have and can only thank you for the sad but true history of Mans cruel behaviour to his own fellow man, thank you for trying to stop this madness and all live together in peace, kind regards . Stan Orr.
I met a wonderful lady on the Lough Shore in Carrickfergus. She was the love of my life but it was not to be. Finbar Furey you sing this lament just right.
I first heard this song in a Scottish play called 'Dr Finley'and the retiring doctor sang this . When I was in Dublin last year I had this sang for me at the Temple Bar Hotel...
I want to go back home to Ireland this man reminds me of the soul of my country thank you Fin xxx
Soul.
It reminds me of the Soul of my Grand parents and my late husband. There is nowhere like home!
The best Irish voice in the world. Bravo Finbar.
Better voices plenty . Better singers very very few . A truly moving rendition that I could never tire of hearing .
Finbar Furey has such a unique voice. Amazing.
His playing of the pipes always brings me back home to Ireland.

Always loved Paddy Reilly, but. I'm drawn to Finbar Furey more and more. Spoilt for choice, in Ireland, there is so much, choice.
The Five Hand Reel version is my favourite but this is pretty good in terms of his voice although I´m not so keen on the piano background.
Yourself and Liam Clancy are the only ones can sing this song
Johnny McEvoy did this best..... Finbar's good.....
Pucker bloke
