Hearing the Dublin accent makes my heart hurt with nostalgia - but it’s also so great to hear it. My mum and her sisters used to sing sweet 16. When my mum passed, my Dad would listen to Finbar and Imelda May singing it and also ‘I wish I had someone to love’ …. he missed my mum terribly, they got together at age 14 and 15 and used to go the dance halls back in Dublin. My mum was a great dancer and my Dad the biggest joker - wonderful people! Love the Furey’s - great story tellers! We’ll be seeing them in May next year in London. Very proud of my Irish ☘️ heritage ❤️
