  • Andre Galvao Black Belt and Assistant Instructor at Maverick Training Center Atos Jiu-Jitsu Huntsville Evan Ramsden demonstrates and explains a drill to illustrate the concept of "side changing." This concept is incredibly useful when your opponent offers strong resistance to a guard pass attempt by turning into you and framing. This style of passing is extremely popular among modern day competitors such as Rafael Mendes due to it's effectiveness at causing your opponent to over commit to their defense and often expose their back.
