I have had the cellular SE for about a year now. I can say compared to the Series 6 it was an amazing choice but the Series 7 makes it look more dated with a larger screen on top of everything Series 6 brought to the table.

Looking at the Series 7, probably in Stainless Steel as a present to myself. I have had the Series 3 since 2017 and loved it. I also have a heart condition that should be monitored more closely, so the new features of the series 7 should help with that. My partner will likely adopt my old watch as it still works perfectly for proximity unlocking your iphone when wearing a face mask out in public and your FaceID can't detect you!
I would go with the 7, simply because of the new updated chip. With apple products, that usually means that the older ones will be phased out and a nuisance because they will constantly need to be updated to keep up. @@billydorney9647 yeah those are both awesome features! I already have a pulse oximeter and I’m pretty young and in good health so I’m not too worried about the emergency calling for falls. It’ll be nice to have them in my next watch someday though!
It’s pretty simple…are you going to use the health functions? If you aren’t and just want a toy to use in conjunction with your iPhone, then definitely get an SE. I bought an SE last year because I didn’t think I’d use the fitness features. However after 5-6 months I started getting really into the limited fitness functionality. It may me wish I had gotten a Series 6. I rectified this last month by trading it in and my iPhone XR I had sitting around and got a completely free Apple Watch 7. I now use it for sleep tracking every night, in depth body weight analysis (with fit scale), and use it to determine what hurts and helps my progress with my overall health. In just a month of using some sleep tracking I’ve leveled out my sleep to the point I don’t wake up tired anymore. I know I sound like an Apple shill but it’s objective that the Apple Watch is great for health conscious people. I have 100% Apple synchronicity; IPhone 13 pro, AirPods Pro, Apple TV 4K, MacBook Pro, stereo HomePod mini’s, AirTags and my Apple Watch series 7. I absolutely love being able to control my devices with so many options and just the ease of use.
Right? I still have my series 3 too and it does the job. Idk why he would knock it right off the bat. I only use it for fitness and the price point is great.
I’ve preordered a series 7 thru Costco because they had a cellular option. It’s my first Apple Watch as I’ve worn a Fitbit for years. About how long does it take to charge the watch?
My three year old Series 3 broke, so I’ve been torn between the SE and Series 7. Not crazy with the health stuff, but S5 vs S7 chip might be better for the long run. And I’d really love the always on display, esp for when I’m biking with directions.
SE is a great watch. I got both SE & Series 7, love both. I wanted the series 7 because of the blood oxygen & ECG functionality. After using for couple of days, I have to say always on display is also an additional plus.
This is a very professional review! Thank you. I have had iPhones since the 6 but I have never owned an Apple Watch. I upgrade my phone about every 2 years. Did I mention I haven’t worn a “watch” since my iPhone 6? Why bother? I can just look at my phone to get the time. Based on your review and a quick visit to the Apple store, I decided to go with the SE. If I like it enough, towards the end of the year I will give the SE to my wife and buy the 8 when it comes out! haha. Here’s an observation NO ONE is talking about: the 45 mm 7 is huge and heavy. My first thought after I put it on is that is it would be in the way of my every movement. If it were a Rolex which is designed to be seen maybe I wouldn’t mind so much, but a tool that I buy to make my life easier should be basically invisible until I need it.
Tysm I’m getting an Apple Watch for my birthday which is super soon!🎉 with a phone number and i was really looking at series 6 until I saw this video clearly seeing that the seven has EVERYTHING i want that the 6 simply does not have so thanks

I was considering getting the SE2 as my first Apple Watch, but decided to get the non-cellular Nike Series 7 instead. Reasons included always on, dust resistance, non-plastic back and fast charging. I think I made the right decision, even though it was more expensive.
Don’t have a Apple Watch. Been thinking about it. Waiting on blood glucose monitoring. Or the flat design maybe. Would have gotten one years back but there’s never been any watch faces I liked and almost 0 way to look at watch face options without buying first.
@@heroassassin1068 true you can if you install the app. I have. The faces all suck. Truthfully. The Apple Watch is still to dumb to impress me. If you want a complication to do just that you have to buy a 3rd party app. Hopping they do better next year.
@@AfkJoe true but actually a lot of the complications update every few minutes with updated heart rates that show right there. It’s just the tiny ones that don’t Also it always checks your heart rate every 10 mins or so and logs it automatically it doesn’t have to be done manually
If I were to buy another one for myself I’d go with an SE and a rugged full band watchband similar to a Garmin off Amazon or whatever online retailer. I’m still using my series 4 and basically use it just to track my exercise and ring closing competitions with family and friends haha and I have a cheapie rugged watch band like I mentioned. I’d say don’t, unless an ecg or blood glucose is something that would really benefit you then it really doesn’t matter, the screen is only 20% bigger, the only on display is nice but not worth the price tag alone, and the faster charging is really only a small pro if you’re an average user

I had the series 1 and got the SE in the winter and I love it! I’m glad I didn’t get the 6 actually because I don’t feel like I’m missing out
Blood oxygen and the emergency call if one falls is a must for me
@@billydorney9647 yeah those are both awesome features! I already have a pulse oximeter and I’m pretty young and in good health so I’m not too worried about the emergency calling for falls. It’ll be nice to have them in my next watch someday though!
@@billydorney9647 the emergency call is on the SE too
It’s pretty simple…are you going to use the health functions?
I absolutely love being able to control my devices with so many options and just the ease of use.
o2 and ecg are a gimmick, unless you're a senior citizen
this reads like a bad infomercial
Touch grass you weirdo lol
Thanks for all the info!!! Would you know if it's possible to have Spotify offline on both watches or is it only the Series 7 capable of doing that?
Got a 45mm Series 7 on the way, upgrading from a 38mm Series 1, can't wait!
This video has been helpful thanks. Going with the series 7. I am upgrading from the series 3 Watch.
A great informative video for someone debating an SE vs series 7. I may go with the SE for now. Great price!
Well worth it and I believe you won’t miss the other features
Ok, but can we just have the ability to use one of the physical buttons to mark laps manually while running!
You said the the se will get worst over time so if I get the series 7 would it retain its quality for more years compared to the SE?
is this based on the 1st or 2nd gen SE?
I still have my series 3 since the release it’s a champ
I have a black series 3 in stainless steel and a Product Red series 6.
Right? I still have my series 3 too and it does the job. Idk why he would knock it right off the bat. I only use it for fitness and the price point is great.
Series 3 is amazing
What a great comparison!! Thank you for keeping it short and to the point, and for not bloating it to reach 10 minutes
I upgraded from series 3 after a million years to SE and i am so happy
I just got the SE upgraded from the first apple watch damn reliable
Hey I got the HR reading on floor a d bed for my watch 7 41mm. Why is that so?? Why did Apple do this? Plz reply
I’ve preordered a series 7 thru Costco because they had a cellular option. It’s my first Apple Watch as I’ve worn a Fitbit for years. About how long does it take to charge the watch?
Did not know Costco preordered it. Was it cheaper?
Heard from Marques Brownlee it charges completely in an hour
@@josuemelendez8722 the 41 starlight with gps and cellular was $489. Apple store shows $499.
@@zHappyHour good to know. Thanks.
Great video! Thank you. I just ordered my first Apple Watch ever and I am going with the SE.
Which one is better for tracking hiking, biking stats?
Does the always on display mean that I will not be able to sleep at night cause of the watch light?
I don’t know which one to get because I do want a bigger display but it’s going to be my first time getting an Apple Watch
Same. What did you decide?
My three year old Series 3 broke, so I’ve been torn between the SE and Series 7. Not crazy with the health stuff, but S5 vs S7 chip might be better for the long run. And I’d really love the always on display, esp for when I’m biking with directions.
Get the 7 ! You won’t regret getting it
What three year old needs a 300+ dollar watch?!? I wasn’t even conscious at 3 lol
@@kennethconway2605 read again her comment ☝🏻☝🏻 she’s talking about her 3 years old iWatch .. lol
@@kennethconway2605 yet you have the reading comprehension skills of a three year old
My Series 3 just broke as well (also 3 years old!), so here I am 😫 I'd love to know which one you got.
Just went from the Apple Watch 1 to the SE and love the SE! No need for the 7
SE is a great watch. I got both SE & Series 7, love both. I wanted the series 7 because of the blood oxygen & ECG functionality. After using for couple of days, I have to say always on display is also an additional plus.
Why did you get both?
what did you get both for?
Why are you boughting twice?
For what reason did you buy both?
Why both???
I'm confused. The series 7 is meant to be a successor to the series 6 right. So why is it around half price with all the same features
Thanks! You helped me decide❤ I'm getting the 7.
Is it noticeable that the screen on the SE is smaller or nah?
I went for the 7 , can’t wait for to arrive in a week
Would the SE be worth getting in 2022 or should I get the series 7?
Which one you ended up with?
I want to get the series 7 but dont know if I want to spend an extra $200 for the extra features.
Is it worth paying more for stainless steel rather than aluminium one?
Thank you for the info!
Apple SE for xmas! Thanks Self 😝
Tysm I’m getting an Apple Watch for my birthday which is super soon!🎉 with a phone number and i was really looking at series 6 until I saw this video clearly seeing that the seven has EVERYTHING i want that the 6 simply does not have so thanks
This review is exactly what I was looking for. My first Apple watch to replace a Fitbit Sense that I appreciate. I was thinking of the Series 7 but you convince me that SE would also be perfect for me. Thanks a million.
Shopping about for a watch for wife n I. Cellular is must. Looking at series 5 cuz of price but how does it compare to 7 & is it with the extra cash outlay?
Thanks for the informative discussion. Currently have a beloved but venerable 2015 series 0 and in a few days will receive a series 7. Expecting to find quantum changes
I have the s1 and I’m upgrading to the se tomorrow can’t wait
I was considering getting the SE2 as my first Apple Watch, but decided to get the non-cellular Nike Series 7 instead. Reasons included always on, dust resistance, non-plastic back and fast charging. I think I made the right decision, even though it was more expensive.
Got myself SE last day
It's going great
Don’t have a Apple Watch. Been thinking about it. Waiting on blood glucose monitoring. Or the flat design maybe. Would have gotten one years back but there’s never been any watch faces I liked and almost 0 way to look at watch face options without buying first.
U r gonna wait a long time for blood glucose according to what I’ve read online
You can see all the watch face options on the watch app on your phone
@@heroassassin1068 true you can if you install the app. I have. The faces all suck. Truthfully. The Apple Watch is still to dumb to impress me. Hell apples own heart monitor complication is a damn icon that then runs the app. It should tell you you actual heart rate without touching the screen.
I’m delighted with the many choices of watch faces on the 6
Since the series 6 price got down now (same as Se)isn’t it better to get series 6 now ?
4 jun 2022…I want to buy a smart watch never used any before..I have an iPhone and I am not sure if I should buy SE or 7..
Hadn’t failed me yet but I’m a dude working construction so fashionable watches aren’t on my radar. It’s more for utility.
I'm going to buy the SE for my girlfriend for Xmas.. do I need to get the add on VERIZON hookup? I was just going to buy the GPS to keep the cost down..
Your thoughts?
She has a Apple 12 phone
Thank you
Joe
Verizon only lets you buy the cellular + gps, for $100, so they can change you for the extra line.

hi I am so beginner with Apple Watches so bear with me. Does Apple Watch SE have ECG?
Afaik it doesn’t
I got an SE for Christmas, just watching what the internet prefers
I think I’ll go with the 45mm 7:/ I like the shatter resistant screen feature. That’s the reason I need to replace my series 2.
I accidentally shattered my series 2 watch :( so now I gotta Fig out which new series to get lol
What about if you have an SE already which lacks always on display, ECG, blood oxygen, faster charging, larger screen
I’d say don’t, unless an ecg or blood glucose is something that would really benefit you then it really doesn’t matter, the screen is only 20% bigger, the only on display is nice but not worth the price tag alone, and the faster charging is really only a small pro if you’re an average user
Series 7 does blood oxygen not blood glucose.
Is this SE 1 or SE2?
I am thinking of upgrading my series 0 to the SE now…
is getting a gps + cellular really necessary?
You didn't mention about sleep tracking and the apps that the 7 can support for features in that watch vs those same features the SE does not have.
help. i want a apple watch for christmas and idk what to get (i’m not very much into exercise and i’ll probably use it more for notifications or whatever but some please helppp
First Apple Watch went with 44mm SE it’s perfect for my needs
Thank you for making this video you have helped me make a decision
I am also considering the Fitbit Sense which also has an ECG feature. How is the accuracy of the Fitbit Sense and Apple watch series 7 different? I would still love the apple watch, but that makes it mandatory for me to have an iPhone, and I want to keep my options open. Can I tie my apple watch to my iPad Air 2?
Been rocking with the SE since 2020
I still have the apple watch Hermes series 2 42mm ceramic. I have noticed I need to upgrade but I will surely miss my ceramic back. I am still undecided though. I like larger screens and am having a HARD time deciding between the two 🤔 Great video by the way!!
omg! i just bought the series 7 my first time apple watch ever.
thinking about upgrading from the series 3, have been watching all the reviews just haven’t pulled the trigger.
I hate people who beg for likes. But you earned it, with this very concise breakdown. 👍🏻
You kept talking aboutthe series 3 but you never mentioned series 4 which is what I have and if I had to upgrade I would choose series 7 for it’s always on display. But for right now my series 4 is OK for daily use.
Im thinking between the SE and the Series 7..
Best comparison video on UA-cam very well done kuddos to you liked subscribed 👍🏽👍🏽
Never had one but the se seems like it’s features will be antiquated soon, ima go series 7
Got an se in 2024 and dammm it’s cool af got it for 50$ on marketplace
I love my SE. not enough to change for myself. Wife rocking series 6.
Not me getting offended by what you said about the series 3 since I’m still using mine 🤣 I’m here shopping for a new one for my mom, she had a series 3 as well, got us both them back when they were new, but she just broke the screen so now
I’m trying to see if I really need to spend another $400 or if I can get by with the SE. I think I can based on this video. Thanks!
I got the series 7 for my first watch in the 41mm
41 too small
Me too. 45mm is to big for small wrists
