Hi All, Which city is better in terms of public transportation, cost of living, employment, and a kids Ages 17 and 13 (needs to go to universities near future)? The cities I am considering are: Charlotte, NC Atlanta, GA Dallas, TX Austin, TX Houston, TX TIA
Considering I just turned 21 and I don’t wanna be too far from home. It’s between Houston and Dallas where I’m considering. Only thing is I’m not trying to deal with all that California BS.
San Antonio is not the smallest of the 4 Texas Metros. It’s actually slightly larger than Austin, although I don’t think that will be the case much longer
@@jmh086 yes but I was talking overall. San Antonio metro population is more like 2.5 or 2.6 million, while Austin is around 2.2 million or 2.3 million
Man you captured all 4 cities to a tee. I live in Houston and have become less of a fan living here the older I’ve gotten compared to when I was younger. I think the city of Houston( inner loop) offers the best living experience for all demographics if your a single Millennial or Gen Z. Austin offers the best lifestyle if you’re more liberal, vegan, tech Bro, outdoorsy alternative lifestyle type of person. DFW as a metro though imo is the best bet if you’re career driven or family centered. That’s why as a Family man now I lean more towards DFW than Houston in this stage in my life.
Tornados are very rare and dont happen often but the do happen every now and then. Id say down south would be less tornados but then you have to deal with flooding in houston. San Antonio may be a good option for you
San Antonio if you want eventless weather with no natural disasters. Nowhere in the USA or Americas has the weather of San Antonio. It has the shortest 50-degree-weather season in the country (january to march) without being hurricane ridden Florida. Which is why the area is exploding in droves. Mainly into the hills and northeast direction. Biden’s infrastructure bill obviously is taking advantage of the unique, easy-to-build-on terrain. That isn’t 2 feet above sea level, at risk of earthquakes, or in an area bludgeoned by humid and deadly tornadoes. The dark truth about Houston and Dallas is that each have some WEATHER EVENT. Tornadoes, hurricanes, dry 107 degree heat, floods, bitterly dry and long lasting winters. One sits barely above sea level and another is in tornado alley. These are demoralizing realities that make driving unfeasible and wreck people’s plans. Then there’s the issue that their geography is flat, so hiking is a bore, and doesnt have the thrill of hills that you get in a north san antonio neighborhood. San Antonio doesnt have the wildfire-earthquake geo of california, nor the mountainous desert hills, nor the gloomy dry weather. The hills are just the right shaped and the city is misty except for Southwest which is the dry sunny part of town. I’ve always thought of it to be the hybrid of California and Florida. It also has different weather around the city like Los Angeles without being in a desert. (Avoid the taco-loving parts of town, like the inner city.) San Antonio has as many non-local license plates as California. Austin is okay too but it was built plain wrong. You need a car just as much as you do in San Antonio yet it’s tiny there. It’s also much hotter than San Antonio. Austin can be a bit like California where it’s either fun by yourself or with the right companion, but if things go south, you’d rather be in alpha cities LA or San Antonio; not dysfunctional college towns austin san diego or san francisco.
#Funfact Dallas is also very segregated where u have whites on one side of town && blacks on the other And people just kinda stay within their own ethnic social group whereas Houston is the exact opposite integrated Everyone living amongst each other no matter your ethnicity and very friendly w/ one another which is really significant to me Everyone in Houston is like family helping each other out during natural disasters&&coming together just to enjoy one another’s company whereas Dallas is like living up north it’s every man for his/or herself However he was right abt Galveston beach not being a Miami bcuz even though G-county’s beaches R murky there are times of the year Galveston beaches are blue However Miami or just Florida overall beaches are bluer but their also artificial,&& contaminated w/ fecal pollution And above all shark 🦈 infested so much so, tht Florida and its beaches has been named the shark capital from all the shark attacks tht has occurred there,So be wary all you tourist && visitors tht didn’t know any of this However I agree again Austin definitely gives the west coast vibe But its a bit of a stretch to say tht Dallas is anything like California bcuz tht couldn’t be any further from the truth🤣But nice vid tho🤷🏿♂️👍🏾💯
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and insights on the differences! It's always interesting to hear different perspectives on cities and their social dynamics.
There's no city vs city competition. The only difference between Dallas and Houston is that Dallas has much of that Midwestern/Oklahoma influence while Houston has a more Southern but much of a Louisiana influence. Both cities distinguish themselves from one another based on their cultures their vibes and their regional cuisines.
Dallas has zero OKLA influence. Not at all. I used to go back and forth between OKC so I know this. Midwestern? Yes. Dallas could easily be a city in the Midwest.
I’m from Oklahoma City and have lived in Dallas for 10 years now. Dallas has absolutely NO Oklahoma influence, similarities or feeling to it.I’ve been reading people say this and it’s definitely no truth to the statement . None at all. Not even close.
That’s not true. I’m Mexican and visited Austin and it feels like such a welcoming city!, I’m sure that if you change your mentality and be positive and optimistic they will like you just as they like me. We Mexicans and blacks are targets of racism, but I think that if we keep optimistic and happy, we will transmit that to other people and they will like us more. Stay in Austin and invite me 👍🏽

bro, I live North of Houston and our homes are priced very high espeicaly compared to 3 years ago. San An is very affordable!
Yes I feel like the south side is more affordable than the north side
I wanna move to either Houston or Dallas
Both cities have their own charm, reach out if we can help

Any advice on starting that business? Mentorship? I'll pay

Demographics is destiny. WHEN NOT IF Texas goes blue you can expect income tax capital gains and eventually ghost town.
