Very surprised not to see SuBARRRu ;-) Forester STI on this list, even though they're all JDM grey imports here, nevertheless thumbs up ...my ghast was truely flabbered!
For me the Leon Cupra 300 looks so much better than the Golf, considering they're pretty much the same car I'd get the Seat. You do see the the 4WD ones for under £20k occasionally too. £500 for a stage 1 engine remap and DSG remap and it's the fastest accelerating car on the list too.
nice summary as ever. Would add in the Skoda Superb in its top spec - same power unit as the cupra and golf but maaaaasive. Total sleeper and with 4x4 its quick off the mark
the c6 rs6 is one of my favourite estates, but for me it's gotta be in Misano Red Pearl with the gunmetal 7 spoke wheels. hopefully i can get one of these in the future
One car you miss from all your lists is the Mercedes AMG line C300h. All the practicality of a full size estate, 0 to 60 in 6.5 sec, £10 a year road tax and 60+ mpg on a run. I’ve had mine for 5 years now and other than regular servicing the only time my hand has had to go into my pocket was for a replacement tail light. I’ve thought about replacing it a couple of times over the last couple of years but what can I buy that offers the same style, practicality, performance and economy?
I think you missed off the Audi A6 BiTdi quattro. Avant and allroad versions... I had an allroad and it was really quite brisk - faster than the factory suggested (did a 0 - 60 with an iPhone app tracking and it was 4.9s) - and the mid-range overtaking acceleration was brilliant. That and (if I recall) 40-45mpg overall - and it sounded great with the 'fake' sports mode turned on in the exhaust (which mine always was). You can get an avant for sub 20k now, not sure about the allroad.
The facelift F30 supposedly had better steering than the pre facelift but I can tell you now the e91 had MUCH better steering than the f series so not sure where you read that
I would think long and hard about some of these high capacity V8/V10 engines and maybe even some V6 ones. I fear a future Labour Government may bring in extremely high VED tax bands in order to discourage these types of vehicles from the roads. This is just what I believe and I’m not anti Labour, just a concerned car enthusiast.
Drove the Cupra 300 a few months back. Found that size of VAG hot hatch all have quite a dull driving experience. Not bad per se, just not especially fun. Certainly wouldn't pick it over the much tastier cars later in the list!
curious to see if you saw the green golf r estate on autotrader, £21500… 4:54
Can’t believe you still have that polo! I had a 6n2 gti replica was a dealer owned car was mint unfortunately was a 1.4 8v
Missed out on the Vauxhall Insignia VXR Supersport Tourer

Mk7.5 Golf R - one of my dream cars (the other two are the Corvette C6 Z06 and Fiesta RS Turbo)

Ive got a stage 1 cupra 300 n its a fucking right weapon
You're alone on that take
Saw a convertible RS4 the first time the other day in blue and boy I didn’t realise how gorgeous they look and sound
Was tempted by the octavia went with a golf 7.5 gtd instead didn’t need the space tbh
should do one for under 10k definitely! we have a proper rare sleeper .. french 2.0 turbo 220 break 7.5 grand and only about 40 on the road if that

Love the v10 Audi estate and really liking the c63 estate now, I don’t think there is a better sounding car than the c63 naturally aspirated monster
MERRY CHRISTMAS JB 🎅 🎄 AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 🎆 🍻'S
have a great chrismas and keep up the great vids
I picked up a b7 s4 avant with the 4.2v8 early this year, lovley motor just needs some attention to the paint and only paid 5k for it 😂
Merry Xmas and a happy new year👍👍👍👍👍

Yup..the e-series is hydraulic compared to the EPAS in the f series.....the e series has way more feel/feedback
VW Golf R estate,very cool car !!

Surely long and hard then, not hard and fast?
@Tristan Behrens You're correct, my mistake. It's now been edited.
@@v-gun9735 No worries, I do think your point is correct, though

Can you do a video on the Audi allroad
Thanks for this video
Yup would like to see the under 10k.
Subaru Legacy Wagon "tuned by sti" version
Mitsubishi Legnum VR-4
..... Could be interesting
Do one for under 10k!!! :) im in the market for one!
How about the same video at a £40 or £50K price point?
Jag XF is 5 series /Audi A6 rival………
Unless you live on the autobahn- why bother with the top 4 V8s? 335d nearly as fast - faster in bad weather - with 40 mpg vs 15mpg…..
20k pounds = cheap...ok
Legend boy
cheap is 150 to 500 quid lad not 10 grands
