Sure, everybody has those bearings and iron brackets lying around in the garage. That’s much better than buying a complete tool at the same cost of the independent parts so you can “make your own.”
I like your setup very much. I think however it would have been easier to set the bar perpendicular to the apex of the blade and run the sled laterally.
Nice simple method. But one question - how would you make repeated precise dowels of a set diameter? Trial and error and lots of measurements with a set of calipers?
I keep forgetting that test in the end will tell you if the rod is straight or not. (rolling the rod on a flat surface without wobble or changing direction)
@@j-woodworking9573 that's a little bigger than 3/4" diameter. It would be nice to be able to get 3/8" or 1/2" diameters. For sure you would have to shorten the length to keep it safe.
Thanks!
bel bastoncino, bravo geppetto

I am amazed at how you look at the world. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Nice! This video reminds me that I've got a brand new Jet Mini Lathe sitting in the garage begging to be used for something. 😀
Nice jig!
Excellent and simple
Fantastic job. The only thing I would change would be inserts in place of the wingnuts. I hate wingnuts!
Good idea!
Very cool and serendipitous, I just got commissioned to make some jyo do staffs. I am going to change my plans. thanks

Absolutely brilliant!
Terrific idea! Thanks so much for sharing!
Really cool! A dust collection box would also be super easy to add to this design.

Very nice 👍
Thank you 👍👍👍

Magnífico, parabéns.
By raising up one side of the pillow blocks you could get tapered legs. 👍 😎
Genial!! Moltes gràcies!!👏👏👏
Great idea. Thanks

You are the master of the tablesaw!!! Great video!
super idée👍👍👍
Fabulous...
Very good! If you make it adjustable, to spin at an angle, relative to the table saw, you can make tapered pieces, instead of cylindrical.
Great idea for making large diameter dowels but just trying to think of what to do with them.
@@johnroberts3723 The main use will be to make legs for furniture.
@@JoseSilveira-newhandleforYT 👍
Really amazing work, man! Beautiful! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
I’m not super familiar with table saws but I’d be worried about side loading the blade
Excelente!
Nicely done J! Very easy jig to make and gets the job done! 👍👍😉😉
Great idea and it does a beautiful job. I always enjoy your content. I think I’ll be building that thanks for sharing
perfect.
Great idea
Esse eu vou fazer. Muito obrigado
Very clever.
Hola. Cuáles son las medidas. Está muy bueno.
Very nice thought out jig simple but very effective at producing round spindles of various lengths and thickness take care 😀👍
Do you have part #s ? I've not see those bearing housings before. What are they called? Can I find them at Home Depot?
Why go from two winged nuts to four? I would like to make it but I want to know if the two winged nuts were not enough, so you added two more?
Genial!
Beautiful
Ez az eddigi leg tisztábban dolgozó , rúd készitö, amit a jutubon láttam!😉 EZ MÁR MAJDNEM ESZTERGA!! .🤣🤣🤣
Cool Idea, well done. What is the thickness of your sawblade? Looks very thick like 5mm or 6mm.
6mm
Thanks for watching sir.
Mais seguro comprar um torno de madeira...
magnifico trabajo
brilliant!
Que buena idea. Gracias por tus vídeos 👍
As alway 👍, this jig is perhaps a good idea and easy to build.
I should try it !
Ótimo projeto! 👍
excelente
Nice simple method. But one question - how would you make repeated precise dowels of a set diameter? Trial and error and lots of measurements with a set of calipers?
Where do you get the parts?
Now you can make a drum sand planer ..
What size is are the pillow blocks you’ve used there?
Brilliantly
Thnx
I keep forgetting that test in the end will tell you if the rod is straight or not. (rolling the rod on a flat surface without wobble or changing direction)
This works if you start with perfectly straight square stock. With anything else, you're notgonna like the results.
Amazing
Bastante interessante, parabéns.
Nice. How small of a dowel diameter can you make?
I'm not so sure. But the minimum diameter would be over 2 cms. I'll give it a try soon.
@@j-woodworking9573 that's a little bigger than 3/4" diameter. It would be nice to be able to get 3/8" or 1/2" diameters. For sure you would have to shorten the length to keep it safe.
@@Mr_Rick The technique isn't exactly the same but you can make them down to about 1/4 inch. YT search
top notch
