Very nice list, keep going!
Thank you my friend 🙏 there's plenty more affordable watch lists to come 🙌
Refreshing to find another great channel for starter watch collections. Really good selection covered. Only thing I would say though is that prices should be based on RRP and not sale or second hand price otherwise it is inconsistent and opens you up to loads of watches.
Great video. Wide range of affordable watches. I personally like the orient brand of watches. Looking for the bambino to add to my collection.
Orient Ray II is the best. I have used it almost 3 years, and it is still the best.
Me too, have mine about a year, love it.
at around $130, it is the best watch for the money
Same here... Lourve my Blue Sunburst Mako II... 😁
No
Same here
Awesome review! I own a couple on this list. 👍
You’re hilarious, the Casio “civil war” 😂 this is a GREAT video on what to expect. Keep em coming
my casio edifice is so robust, used to wear to office but relegated to what i wear during building and DIY work. changed the battery once or twice as I have had it for so long. literally outlasted everything lese. notable mention to my pulsar black steel with silver steel detailing - still looks great
Hi! Can U give me your opinion about Festina brand? Thanks. 🙂
Timex is doing some good stuff 👌
What’s the model of the timex in this video ?
Some Addiesdive watch like MY-H9 or Invicta Pro Divers are also good.
Best combination Seiko,Orient,Citizen... 👍
I have a Ray II in black. Great Watch
Great Video.
Greetings from Madrid
Thank you very much!
There are some cool watches that are very inexpensive merkur very stylish
If i look those watches up on amazon they are all moe expensive by a lot. Do you have any links
I use creation watches and Jomashop.. They have the cheapest prices
I have casios from the 80s that still work
Great video 👍
Thanks for the visit
Seiko 5 👍 👍
What is that beautiful first orient watch at 3:02 ?
Very good!
Very nice!
Ihop that shops geving matreal. Like u
React to Titan an Indian brand
Lorus? Why not get a Timex?
thanks
You're welcome!
A real shame that seiko discontinued the seiko 5 line as it once was and basically re-branded it to the skx line more or less. I just got my first seiko 5 june of last year and it's in my rotation as a daily beater, and was just the daily beater in the winter months since it did fit under my long sleaved shirts with ease. I'm not sure where I will go once this kicks the bucket, quartz watches really don't do it for me but oh well, I guess I won't have to think about that for a few more years.
I was thinking about getting one of the seiko 5 watches but it looks like they’re thick bcs of the back of the watch that sticks out. Do you think it’s thick or does it look normal on your wrist
@@malgentocilla7829 Honestly, not really. I don't know for certain but if you can find one without the display caseback that would thin it down but even then that section usually doesn't make it look floaty or large in normal use. I know I have quartz watches that look, larger on my wrist and my other watch I wear otherwise is a mechanical chronograph and the that just makes seiko 5 seem slim. If however, slimness is what you are aiming for, then there are quartz watches you can buy for that but if it has to be mechanical, I'd suggest a manual wind watch at that point but this really is not large IMO and at sub $100 for an older seiko 5, you're not exactly going to be hurting if you don't like it.
New sub.👍
Thanks for the sub! Good to have you on the channel
The tissot watch looks great but i cant find a place to buy under 150 can anyone help
It was on Jomashop for $100 but they have sold out. I have just check ebay and you can still pick them up brand new for just over $100. 💵
CASIO and CITIZEN offer such a great value ... it's almost stupid to pay a dollar more for anything else! Great Video by the way! Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
As a swiss I can say 2 U....there are no reliable wristwatches below $ 500.-...sorry folks...
Japan says otherwise.
why Dont you verbally Identify the first watch on your list? please tell us what it is?
Designs are garbage
DUDE they are all bangers for the money.. Nice list i like it!
Thank you my friend
Excellent, very informative and well made video mate! You deserve a lot more subscribers...I just did! Many thanks.
Thanks for the sub!
may I know the model reference for the Tissot chronograph
A great list and, of course, I love that the Duro made the list. I’d have been shocked if it hadn’t, let’s be honest. I’ve never owned an Edifice but really like the EFB. Also, as a Citizen fan also, I need to check out that chrono.
What’s the reference number of model of the watch shown at 3:18?
Too bad you didn't show the best part of the Seiko 5 SNKE61, the fantastic lume! I've owned one for about 3 years and it was a daily for about a year of that, fantastic little watch and a great Explorer alternative. Great video!
Thanks for sharing!
I bought my first watch the Orient Ray II in blue colour about a month ago. Happy to see this watch on the top of your list. I decided to buy another watches too later. Perfect piece to start a collection.
you need to do a new list. Half the watches are way over 150 dollars. Like the tissot quickster is 425 euros here in EU :D
Yeah, I messed up when making this video and included too many watches that were on sale. I'm very careful with it these days. I'll make an updated version at some point and be a lot more strict with pricing
I recently discovered your Channel today and must confess that I’m really impressed ,congrats ,you go direct to the point ! I like that ! I put you in my favourite UA-camr who subject talking is wrist watch ⌚️!
Have a great day …
Seagull movements aren't dodgy. ( Do you mean in quality? ) They are a big improvement over lots of entry level Japanese movements and generally keep better time, even the cheap high-beat ones in my experience. I think the original copies they made of ETA movements etc have been tweaked over time. Parts are easily available too if you want them serviced. I'm not in a financial position to take the moral high ground and say they're just copies, I want a functional auto and they are certainly not dodgy but are affordable, reliable automatic movements.
The marlin emblem is no longer used by Casio. That was the eye catcher with these. Now they have the same watch no marlin
Very true
I have a brand new Duro… has the Marlin logo… USA purchase
@@bradl2636 they are still avbl, ‘old’ stock, but no new ones are made with the marlin logo.
I bought two when they announced the marlin symbol would disappear. Blue and gold version.
They made a million of them. It'll be years before the marlin stock disappears.
@@Robin6512i have gold marlin. beautiful watch. and i like the marlin logo. haha
I have twp vostok amphibias and neither work anymore. Didnt last 5 years. Wish Id bought a citizen dive watch instead
Really enjoyed the video. Some nice watches I didn't know, specially the Casio Edifice. Great job!
Thank you Paulo! I tried to include some watches that were a little more under the radar for the hardcore watch enthusiasts and some common ones for the newbies! That Casio is an unreal pick by the way. Definitely check it out
@@TopTierTicker when looking for a watch, I always try to find that watch that offers the best value for the money. And, if possible, always try to get higher tier quality. I find that around the 1.000 (EUR/USD/GBP) to be the sweet point. But then, when I see some more affordable options I always get the feeling those are the ones I should buy. A real dilema... 🤷🤔😅
i had 2 duro watches a black and a blue one so i traded the black one for an edifice ef527 that was missing a spring bar and needed a battery
This is not aimed at yourself but there are some double standards on UA-cam watch reviews... A microbrand or other brand can produce a SEIKO copy and its raved about yet Invicta copy Rolex and gets a bit of slating for being a clomage!? Do you notice this? I also find your videos fair and affordable
This was a FANTASTIC list. Would have liked to have seen some links though. Hard to find a lot of these on the googles
You’ll be lucky - links are not his ‘ thing’ . No commercial gain so not interested I guess 🙄
Very good review. I've tried quite a few of the watches featured. Mint pre-owned or discounted new. Maybe two you missed...the Accurist 7367 Chrono with the cushion Case & Timex Harbourside Coast Black Case + Black Dial with orange accents. I settled on two "beaters", the Classic Vostok you featured in both the Black & Silver Dial...both on Bracelets. Vostok & G-Shock have a lot of respect amongst enthusiasts as tool watches, no matter how heavy hitting their collection might be.
These are perfect selections for this list! I'm enamored with the Casioak at the moment. It's just so shamelessly bulky and bad ass.
I don't have a large collection of watches (10-12 pieces), anyway they are not very expensive watches (Orient ray II, Casio Duro, Timex). I came across your videos recently, and slowly, slowly I started to unfollow the videos with expensive watches. I like the enthusiasm, the honesty with which you present even an ordinary Lorus watch (and I have one of this one). So as long as you don't change the style of your videos, you will always have at least one follower. Well done!
Thank you Klaus. That's a lovely comment. I also have a similar size collection of mostly affordable watches. Same brands as you. I think there is so much value and fun to be had in the affordable watch market. My videos will be staying the same style for sure. However the editing will get better, better footage etc. So I'm happy to have you around.
@@TopTierTicker I am a citizen of a country where the average salary is 6-700 dollars per month. I say this because at this level collecting luxury watches (such as Rolex, Tudor, Omega, Longines) is not an easy thing. That's why I somehow chose to follow your videos, whose watches are as accessible as possible. For example, I am looking to increase my collection with an Orient Bambino, I am looking for good offers. And this year I want to buy either a Tissot prx or an Atlantic Mariner. I watched the Tissot video, very nice! I'm a big fan of diver watches, but I'm also looking at an offer of field watches from Citizen. I greet you! Good luck !
Great work - I have an Orient Ray 2 in blue, one of my first automatic watches. Loved it when I bought and still love it now.
Good choice! Orient dive watches are the best bang for buck on the market. Thanks for watching
You can't complain about the size of the PRX and say the Ediface wears well, that's just inconsistent
Thanks a lot for that, I am going to buy your Favorite too, it's hovering around $155 at this moment.
Can you provide a model number for that Citizen Chronograph? I can't seem to find it anywhere.
Some of watches like Tissot are up to 400 Euros...however they are listed in below 150 category....
Yes, it seems that it has risen in price since I made this video. In future, I will not be including watches that are on sale in videos. Sorry about this
@@TopTierTicker dont mention it. Overally very good video and meticuloisly chosen...
Bought an Orient Ray II well over a year ago and the bezel was almost impossible to turn. Replaced the bezel and insert with a coin edge and twelve hour setup from Long Island Watch and it’s better, but still way to stiff. Also bought an Orient Kamasu that is far better than the, and I’d recommend that any day over the Ray.
I agree, unfortunately the Kamasu is slightly over the $150 mark. However the Kamasu did make my best watches under $250 video!
Try a few tiny drops of sewing machine oil beneath the bezel... Works wonders... 😁
I prefer that battry watchs
While the Casio Duro is a great beater watch the strap is garbage. The Zeppelin is sharp looking.
Great job. Nice list. However, I have switched over to solar-powered watches…I wish you would’ve include more of those in your list.
Being in the market for a daily beater, I've stumbled across your video. Needless to say that I ordered the Orient Defender 2. Thank you for the recommendation!
Good choice my friend. You cannot go wrong with that watch. Get plenty of straps and natos for it and you'll never stop having fun with it.
In your video the vanilla color orient defender as a light blue loom is that normal or did you have something that was light blue reflecting off the watch????
Thanks
Joel
Thumbnail tells me ur trying to look like you have on an ap or a rolex…. Lmfao
one of rob dahms crew daily wears an edifice while working on cars... 👍
I want your opinion please. Casio or Citizen ? Thanks
Come to oman to open beanies for watch sale u r very intelligent and and good speake with castmar
Where do you find these watches under 150$ ? Dislike
Nothing on here under £150 never mind dollars
Lies, I just did a quick Google search and most still are.
@@TopTierTicker not new…used
This is a really good video with some great recommendations! I kept getting surprised.
Time is a dead god Shiva 🌹🌚👍 rest in the good news 🌹 okay bye
i own 5 of the watches featured ( they're not Rolex , so no flexing from me).
I have the mako2 - the Ray but a different design. After getting the Citizen Promaster diver ( ISO cert. for a bit over of this budget and a brutalist design) now find it too big and heavy.
The Vostock is just fun - overlooking the crown - but may be hard to get a Russian watch now ( and the question of getting one)?
The Lorus has lume that embarrasses other more expensive timepieces.
That and the GA2100 will be candidates to take on my next holiday, along with my 37mmm Casio Edifice gen.1 ( seek it out) and Oceanus ..( not a Casio fan boy at all). Cheers.
A good budget selection with some watches you don't see everywhere - well done!
Thank you! I tried to mix it up a bit
Nice video. I'd like to add one more and it is a Casio efv-100D-2AVUEF. I have it since few months ago and it is so fun. Real strap monster. Good in any situation. All for 85 euros but the price is going up now. Level of finish is crazy for the price and it looks way over its price range. All the best...
I have the Casio Edifice for 90€ and I love it rather than my more expensive watches 🔥
Absolutlely love your picks! thank for this very helpful video!
I own all of these times 3 great show.
I purchased a Seiko 5 field watch then was disappointed to find out it doesn't have a sapphire crystal or hand wind capability. I didn't do my research. Now I see many better price/spec choices. Citizen, Steeldive, Deep Blue, Orient, Casio, even Invicta.
A wisely selected list you have here, I like it. But you should consider to change the price range from $150 to $250 in Nov. 2023
Try seagull watches, they have a seagull moon phase which is around $150 and looks stunning
Seagull are sending me some watches to review on the channel. Expect videos of them soon
Constructive criticism: lose the background noise!
The subject & your narration of it is great. The addition of distracting, monotonous & annoying music ruined the vid for me.
Since I didn't want to read closed captions, I never finished the vid.
I'm now 74 years old and have over 20 watches from many famous brands such as from Switzerland & Japan and Germany including a golden Rolex (a present)which I did not like. I gave most of them away to my Brothers because if you don't use them regularly they do break down. Now I do have a simple Fosill/Defender watch which basically runs like a citizen Eco-drive. It cost 180 dollars. The main reason for me one has to like the look of the watch. I did have several Diving watches as well (I was a diving instructor in my free time and was very happy with Seiko never encountered a problem
if u can get a couple hundred meters out of a watch, it's worth at least 500 bucks. but...! with that being said, a watch that can only do 300 meters isn't worth over 2 grand. ima watch guy, and if the watch can do 200 meters are better ill buy it if i like it, no matter the name. i have a Submariner and a Seiko i think is better. both 300 meters, both keep good time. 3000 tops for the Submariner, and im being generous because it is a Rolex. i dont think the parts and build quality are that much better to call for a 9 to 10 grand price. u think that Rolex will take the beating of G-SHOCK. hell no, but a Seiko might.
You kinda remind me of a young Rikki Rocket... (No offense intended).
Haha no offence taken. I do see it actually, I think it's the chubby cheeks and the hair. 😝
Quickster costs almost the same as the quartz prx here wtf
It was dirt cheap at the time. I'll remake this video soon with more picks!
10 years without a service would be incredible for a car, but for a modern watch it's normal! IF that's the best it can manage, it's actually very poor! When you mention that the Seiko 5 has Roman numerals, it doesn't, it's got Arabic numerals!
Very nice list and picks. I watch other channels and you recommended a lot that I have not seen in those other videos, thanks!
That's exactly what I aim to do with these videos. I try to stay away from the popular suggestions and show people new models they might not have considered. Plenty more to come too! Thanks for watching
that Tissot is interesting along with the Orient defender. good channel, keep up the excellent work 👍
Quality 👍🏼
I agree and nice video, but when you have 10 watches around $1000 each (not too crazy), it's hard to add another one for $150 or under. It's also hard to put all your eggs in one basket......watch world
This Video is a freaking BANGER! THANK YOU! If you could add Timestamps this vid would be even better!
Keep it up Brother! The Classic Lorus is so cool!
Man the Orient is so cool! Thanks for new Inspirations Brotha!
I won't buy Russian products for the obvious reasons. Even though I would love to get that Amphibian
Orient Bambinos are beautiful watches, but they keep time a little less well than a sundial does. My bambino loses about 9 minutes a day, no joke.
Casio g shock is over 200 euros, where did you find it under 150 bucks, i'll buy it 2 if its true
The Citizens stands out ❤
Thank you for the great video and info. Found at least 2 that are exactly what I'm looking for.
Only Smart watches sale.
bro you look like the vocalist of Blink182
I've had that one a few times 😆
Hi ive bought the g shock casio, the same one as you shown on here. interchangeable sides and straps.
However im struggling to find genuine different designs.
Like the steel and other colours. Can anyone help me please. 😢
So it sounds like you have the G-Shock GAE-2100, which is a slightly different version to the one I'm showing here. Your watch does have an interchangeable case and strap but it doesn't have a lot of options for it.
I don't think it's possible to buy a steel case for your version, as the module inside is slightly different.
So if you wanted a steel case you'll either have to buy a GM2100, or buy a GA2100 and buy a mod kit off ali express!
I'd recommend buying a cheap second hand Ga2100 on ebay, and buying a new GA2100 mod kit on Ali-Express, you effectively get a brand new metal casioak for less than £100.
Hope this helps
Yeah sorry wrong video, i got the same set you have, hoping to buy more mod,s. Ive seen the ones on ali Express but are the not fake and might damage or weeken the watch. And the other mod,s are costing nearly same as the watch. Thankyou for getting to me. 👌
@toptierticker hi sorry to bother you. Do you not know wer i can get another mod for this watch, i literally thought with you being able switch them they had a whole range. However not having any luck. Thanks
Casio dominates, for a low price you get quality that lasts for many years
copy paste copy paste *rolleyes*
