Interesting roster of cars. I only ever had 2 cars, but i drove a dosen on regular basis wothin the family. My first car was a Super Red 1990 Celica GT-i(equivalent to usdm GTS, but with high reving 3S-GE instead of camry 5S-FE)liftback with 5 speed manual. Had it for 4 year and it was lovely thing to drive. I miss it dearly, it had best feeling seats and steering wheel(3spoke with thin with softly cushioned rim, no airbag) from any car i ever drove. Despite being fwd it was tons of fun to drove. Even in a traffic jam it felt fun to sit in. It made my day everyday and for others too(mostly cuz of pop up headlights). I put quite a lot of money and work into repairing her. My grandpa even helped me fabricate couple things for it. I sadly had to sell it 3 years ago sadly. Since then i have 2012 Subaru XV(Crosstrek) 2.0i 6speed manual. It has nice awd system i wanted in Celica(like alltrac/gt four had), but it only is fun in winter, rest of the year its boringly grippy kinda. There is nothing to mess up and play with, and i hardly feel any speed compared to Celica or more typical hatchbacks or wagons even. It also has quite annoying senseless clutch yhat i still to this day cant feel the biting point of, because it just doesnt have any feedback, it just is one featureless motion as i clutch-in and out. Its quite pracrical and roomy, not the best for sleeping tho. Very little room length wise ans at super high angle with folded rear seats. It feels more mundane like Auris(Corolla hatch from 2010) or Avensis(european camry equivalent and a wagon). It sounds good tho, i put Borla exhaust on it, but rest of it is very lucklaster as enthusiast car stuff goes. XV and me missing Celica is main reasons why i want some more fun car again. It came down to two options mildly better, more practical Legacy Wagon 3.0R with 6mt(its like Legacy GT2.5 but with 3.0L H6 naturally aspirated like 2jz in your SportCross) or IS 200 or 300 Sportcross. I can have is200 sportcross with manual stock or do what you did and mt swap is300. I cant exactly make up my mind yet. Didnt get to drive either of these just saw them and researched them vigorously for a few months now. Sorry for this overly long comment Jasper, my name is Casper btw 😅
Thanks for that detailed response Casper, I read the whole thing. The Celica is a great car, also very cool that you have a is200 manual wagon. I know they made them AWD too.
