    Thanks. I knew something wasn't right with the fuel lines when my friend was helping me with this bugeye engine install. Then he said oh it was probably you when you did the filter but yeah right I've done hundreds of these fuel filters at a quick-lube shop. This is exactly what I needed because I dont have an easy FSM to access. Doing it the right way the first time so I greatly appreciate your video and cool mod!

    Completely unrelated to this video but I so wish you all would have been around or atleast able to be contacted back when I was doing my first Subaru swap... the year was late 99 or very early 00 I had got a full (pretty much... it was cut into sections) wrx sti RA and was swapping the whole drivetrain into my 99??? Maybe 98 impreza outback sport wagon that I had got a killer deal on at the dealership I was working at it had a tiny bit of hail damage and they sold it to me cheap enough I didn't mind that much about taking it home and gutting it almost immediately lol but information was so hard to get back then and I worked at a damn Subaru dealership! Lol but after about 14 months (not working every single day or anything) I was able to get it driving and a few months later I took it to one of my factory training courses and tricked my instructor into finding some information about the dccd system that the 5 speed transmission was equipped with but I was able to find absolutely zero information about it then lol
    Sure would have helped and saved me a few grey hairs but then again it might have taken some of the fun away.....

    Hey guys how's it going? I have a 05 Subaru Outback 3.0 LL Bean Edition, about to install an adjustable fpr, everywhere I look shows the black fuel line/feed on the bottom, white fuel line/return on the top but mine is opposite, the black is on top, blue in middle & white on the bottom. I have the bigger fpr with the damper on it. I would just really love to get confirmation on which one is the feed & return on mine. I definitely don't want to do it backwards lol. I would really appreciate it.

      Unfortunately, I can't confirm if the specs for the Impreza of this era match the Outback, but I suspect they do.

      @@iwiresubaruwiringsolutions5538 hey how's it going? I was looking around the fuel lines yesterday & noticed that coming out of the firewall the black is on the bottom. & you can notice the black is slightly bigger. But then the way they are ran, by the time they poke out by the strut, the black is on top, going into the top of the FPR. I'm guessing this does confirm the black is the feed/supply? Just thought I'd run this by ya, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you again

      @@troshaffer4921 Sounds like you have it, and you can always double-check by cycling the key to see which line the fuel comes out of.

    Is the fuel dampener not necessary in the feed line? I noticed that is just a straight house from hard line to hard line

      They were included with the Cobb Fuel Pressure kit so if you wanted to purchase them separately I'm not exactly sure where you would find them.

    Hey guys just wondering what line would I put a air to fuel ratio gauge on ?

    • @iwiresubaruwiringsolutions5538
      @iwiresubaruwiringsolutions5538  2 роки тому

      An A/F gauge would use a sensor that goes into the downpipe to detect the air/fuel mixture in the exhaust. A kit for something like that would be this.

    • @iwiresubaruwiringsolutions5538
      @iwiresubaruwiringsolutions5538  Рік тому +1

      I know it seems counter-intuitive with California, but this fuel line adjustment to remove the fuel dampener is not emissions-related, so it is legal to make the change.

    • @Kinvesu

      @@iwiresubaruwiringsolutions5538 Good to know. I was mostly knocking on california. Since it seems like anything you do to your car nowadays is illegal here.

      Found this video super helpful and straight foward. They legit tell the order at 1:14 Eng - Top = Feed, Middle = Return, Bottom = EVAP and then Chassis - Top = Return, Middle = EVAP, Bottom = Feed. You must not be very experienced if you can't understand this simple of a video.
