I was looking for a great shave here in the Twin Cities and it didn't take long to stumble upon Mustache Jim and the crew at Gent Cuts and Grooming.
Jim, GENT Master Barber, offers a well-rounded selection of sensibilities and style. Keeping a fresh perspective and a classic background, Moustache Jim has been honing his craft for 13 years. Specializing in straight razor shaves, haircuts, and beard trims, Moustache Jim provides the perfect service for special occasions as well as meeting the day to day needs of any occasion.
Here, Mustache Jim perfectly executes the Executive Shave. Like a Classic Shave, they begin with two steaming facial towels to soften the beard and open the pores. Once the skin is ready, they wash the face with cleanser to remove any dirt and oils in the skin. They then apply a pre-shave hot oil application, basic lathering and a shave going with the grain of your beard. After a re-lather, they shave against the grain (if preferred). Next is cleansing the face of any excess shaving products with a warm towel and apply Deep Detox Clay mask allowing the mask to dry for 3-8 minutes (depending on skin type). They remove the mask with a clean, warm towel and end the Executive Shave with a cool facial towel and aftershave. Mustache Jim also does a great job explaining how to shave with a straight razor and some of the benefits of shaving with a straight razor.
This is not only a truly relaxing experience, it is very healthy for your skin and facial hair. For more information on how to schedule your Executive Shave, go to www.gentcg.com

imagine if after all that prep he pulled out a Gillette mach 3.
Bro Stew Yeah it would be as out of place as those orange thongs hes wearing.
+Bro Stew LOL
+Bro Stew LMAO!
Mr. Meeseeks
Or just used his finger 😂
It would still beat the pants off an old BIC
For the non-executive shave he just wears jeans and a t-shirt and no mustache wax.
Also known as the "Casual Friday shave"
Manny Bamberg 😂😂😂😂😂
Hi, Mustache Jim. I'll take the "regular jerkoff" please.
Not to mention he halves the steam towels
jackalhenryjax He uses paper towels 🧻. 🤣

thank you king
He's single handedly keeping a laundry service in business! 😂
Customer: "How many steam towels today?"
Jim: "Yes."
"Let me just get you another steamed towel real quick..."
@GaunletofDestruction he keeps getting new ones to keep the face warm
That is one professional barber. Such professionalism. Higher respect for the client than I've seen some doctors have. The way he dresses is superlative.
More like an awkward clumsy barber
Reverse freehand for point #10 plus multiple other mistakes.
Shave was great.
But the dialogue from the guy talking about where he is from and his work...top tier.
That guy is talented at his job, but he looks like hes from the capital in the Hunger Games.
Lol
Not enough bright colours
More like Mr. Poirot from the Agatha Christie novel and tv series! LOL
Let the razor be ever in your favor.
Allan Selman lmao
Today I learned, all of the shaving experts sit on youtube commenting on videos.
You're my favourite commenter here you're just all over this comment section speaking true shit
Will Havrilchak i laughed so hard at your comment i peed myself
Will Havrilchak it took about a minute to understand that joke hahahahaha clever
Wait, you're telling me this man ISN'T terrible at his job because he doesn't use a brush to apply foam? How can that be?!
Illuminati confirmed.
Hot towel simulator 2k14.
Legend has it this man was still blinking with the towel over his eyes
He may seem funny in his clumsy clothing, but he's very good at what he does: not a move without extra-care. I'd enjoy such a shave.
Thinking the same thing right now... That dude got me super relaxed haha. I'm scheduling a shave at the mens parlor (?) this week... think we have a place in town called Just Gents that does this
This would be a nice treat :)
Yhea is dude funny he look like a troll
***** You and everyone else, bud ;]
Anyone can get this kind of shave all over the world. Ask the older men in your town who does an "old-fashioned" barber style cut and shave, they will point you in the right direction.
He has both a funny and a serious side of his personality...
When he turns serious about whatever he is talking about, his mustache curls a little bit more than it does at resting point.
This is a Class A barber in my humble opinion. Best Shave and Shave Treatment ever. I saw the result on the customer after the shave and the skin looked soft and fresh, the skin also did not look swollen or out of place and the result of the shaving looked razor close clean shaven. This is what real men grooming and caring really is. What a great craft. What a stand up barber and we need more of these types of barbers in every neighborhoods and blocks. This is suave.
+David Soule
wtf?
+canadian ichor
where did that come from?
Real men don't shave they take care of their beards.
BladeKi11a some men aren’t allowed to have beards because of their job so this is the next best thing!
That fella is crazy and nuts, he's enjoying that in a weird fucking way
Moustache Jim is wonderful! We are very thankful to have him here in Minneapolis.
I wonder if this guy is ever like "fuckkkkk I have to do the executive shave today"
18cwhip very possible. It's probably a fairly rare occurrence
If it's that much of a hassle, charge more for it. As a professional and an expert, it's your prerogative to charge what your time is worth.
Corey Kinard I'm sure it is more expensive
Tyler Brown Kinda my point really. I wouldn't ever be annoyed someone chose that option. If I were, I either don't like my career or I'm undercharging.
18cwhip 😅
After this he is going to tie a woman to the railroad tracks !!!!
Bob Onthis I want to like this comment, but it has 30 likes and I can't bring myself to be That Guy to put it at an odd number.
Well his so called miracle elixir is nothing but a concoction of piss and inc
Bob Onthis AHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!
HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHA
Completely fucking stupid comment.
Lmfao hahahahahahaha
A nice relaxing shave such as this, can make you whole day so much nicer.
Richard Mann You said it, Sir!
Yes
Tony Grant yes it's tru
never tried one. how much does a regular shave such thisncost?
Tony Grant : yeah, umm NO!
bro struts in a fancy barber shop wearing neon orange slides on his feet lol
Luke Knox he's a douchebag.
This is what is called a power move
I've went to a fancy restaurant in a iron maiden shirt and jeans
@@bryanmartinez6600 dude your a god 🤘🤘🤘
@@mikehuntsmels9680 I was less impressed from the food but the drinks were very good.
I got a 16 ounce steak for $85 but was okay but not the greatest especially for the price.
One of the great UA-cam videos of all time.
Anyone else notice that he never once got anything on the cuffs of his suit?
DarkFilmDirector skills
I was wondering if anyone noticed! lol
So true. Skills...
nen
My man is in a 3 piece suit and came out spotless. I had to start shaving in the shower because I would ruin at least 3 t-shirts when I try to shave at the sink.
This dude is gonna give you the ol’ razzle dazzle and the classic flim-flam!
And to think, all these years I've been shaving my own face like a sucker...
Gerard Byrne these types of shaves are rather expensive, usually $50 or $60
Especially if you’re shaving three times a week
You can do this at home though...the preparation is the same. Although you can use a safety razor if it makes you feel more safe than a straight razor.
“Let me get you a steamed towel. Shake out some of the heat-tt.”'
The way he says heat triggers some tingles for me.
Great video. I feel like this guy is straight out of 1910's & 20's silent movies. Awesome
well that is the point. the atmosphere vintage ear in the 1920's to 1945
+mcstyle24 era*
Bleah Bloobly if only he charged 1920's prices, he'd be a real throwback lol
ua-cam.com/video/cCcD22UUuD4/v-deo.html
Skylordious your link had me in tears XD thank you lol
I like the barber's sense of humor.
The guy in the chair doesn’t have any sense of humor. Corps.
I don't know how this dude stays awake. I would've fell into a deep sleep already. If its relaxing watching it, I know its even better in person.
Thank goodness for the eye covers finally closing your eyes.
This guy is a true geniuses a master. After a shave like that I would be ready to take on the world.
Watching this right before going to sleep was an awesome idea. Most relaxing thing I've seen since Bob Ross
Love the nose blow at 3:25. Very nice
Chris Ruck: straight from the sinuses.
Chris Ruck lmfao
Indeed
I hope they tipped him very well. This guy makes shaving look like a real art. Also, his voice and the process was so relaxing I would have been snoring 10 mins in.
I can't get over the way this guy dresses to go to work and the pampering and the services he provides to each client I am so impressed
Glad to see that John Wilkes Booth found a new profession. Acting didn’t seem to be working well for him.
James Barnett
Ha!
Well played, good sir.
I thought he became a hit man.
James Barnett Sic semper tyrannis!
Does anyone else feel like they could sit down and tell this man all of your problems its hard to find people like him now.
You can tell that man loves his job. He shows a lot of compassion and excitement for what does. Excellent job!
This is class, if you don't like it, don't watch it. It's OK for others to enjoy a harmless thing you don't care for.
The shavee has zero class. He lowered the quality of the experience
Absolutely LOVE Mustache Jim's clothing style
3/10. Not enough towels.
I'm fucking dying over here.... I'm taking a shit.... I'm literally just shitting out even more lmaoooo
drizzyDrexx same
drizzyDrexx wtf lol
Drexx: Yo that happen to me when I read your comment
Ethan Cooke not enough pixels for 720p it seems like 440p.
I really respect anyone who does their job and loves it. No matter how menial. I don't care if it's a barista, barber, cashier, or the guy cutting lawns. It's awesome
I feel so relaxed just watching this. This looks like heaven. The client is a dead fish! Move out the way man and let me in. I'll show you how to lap it up.
I'd go for a beard styling like Robert Downey Jr on Ironman
heck i feel relaxed just watching this.
That's AS MR at its best
This video shave is mighty calming....
This man really getting the “Executive Shave” With sandals on smh.
this is a hell of a treatment for just shaving! The way he dress the whole setup is on a whole new level!
Ever see a kid or adult in a another country, dresses poor but does the best job you've seen? Clothes don't matter. He could have done much better. Alot of mistakes that a licensed barber shouldn't be making. If you care about health and safety, this barber didn't show much of that. You can like him all you want. Fact is he should practice according to state laws for everyone's safety. Period.
@@joshuaespinoza534 Im having a hard time understanding what you are trying to say
I really liked this guy's technique-real attention to detail.
Imagine he got all oiled up and ready for the shave, this dude puts on a McD's hat and says "sorry the shaving cream machine broke"
dying
It felt like Eric Andre's brother was doing the shave
Bro amazing call 😂😂😂😂😂
Their voices are so similar now that you say that, damn
True Professional Barber. You are the real MVP!
I hope the rioters didn't burn this place down. I'd love to get a shave from this dude. It looks super relaxing.
23:05 he finally had enough of him staring into his soul.
He looks like a silent movie villain. Lol All that's missing is the girl on the railroad tracks and the film speeded up like those old movies were.
He's Snidely Whiplash.
“Hydration is key. It helps to get everything nice and hydrated.” lol
Lol... yep... lol
FUCKING LOL
I am surprised to see that this boy maintains the same charisma despite so many years, surely he is in love with life... by the way, it came out on my recommendations after watching Harry's video
amazing isnt it
he is exactly the same here as he is 7 years later with harry
must be nice to be in a profession that you love going to every day
Nothing like a true gentleman’s shave. The place I go you are given a glass of makers mark while waiting so you can feel totally relaxed.
This type of dedication to a craft and service is refreshing to see.
Awesome. This guy takes his job serious and it shows!
NYManChild Mustache Jim certainly does take his job seriously, and he is darn good at it!
What gives it away? The fact that he calls himself fucking Mustache Jim???!!
No fucking way, this is my city lol no clue, what are the chances... Came here from watching skate park fights... wtf youtube lol
MonsterHD You are in Minneapolis? Can you explain the skate park fights? Now I am interested!
Hercule Poirot shaving the the english patient 5:05
n
+MonsterHD Oh shit. I beat some kid up riding a skateboard in Minneapolis this past Spring! What are the chances.
wow ur so cool dude holy shit
When Salvador Dali shaves your beard at the mall.
This is a brilliant service. Great to watch a fellow Barber at his craft and learned some pointers. Thanks y'all.
I like this guy, he makes it's a nice experience by the looks of things. Nice job
one thing is for damn sure, if i'm ever in Minnesota i'm making an appointment for this.
Every barber shop in America should be exactly like this. Us men deserve it. We demand it!
This man clearly enjoys and is very passionate about his craft. We need more people like him.
I enjoyed your work from one barber to another. very refreshing and glad to see an expert craftsman. Great job brother!
I feel like the shave you can get with a brush and razor for a cleaned up look would be nice and quick. But you would purposely come to this guy to have all the extra steps done as sort of a "spa day" for men. I can see the towels and lotions to be very relaxing.
Seems to be a real gentleman. Looked after his client with a professional attitude. Would happily sit in his chair. Thanks for the video
Showmanship is a dying art. My hat is off to you Mustache Jim!
Lmfao douche bag
what a great video,so relaxing to watch, and you do everything with so much care and sensitivty
we need more of this in the world! thank you and i would love to see many more videos like these
I know this is an old clip! But, I really enjoy watching you shave. I am learning the professionalism, the techniques, and the art of shaving each time I watch your video! I see you take great pride in making others feel goid about themselves 😉😊
The guy is really professional at work.
I appreciate people like this dude! Takes his job seriously and is professional.
this barber is like a character in a screenplay for theatre
J Lizaso you don't need a screen play for the theatre. The clue is in the word screen
That looks sooo relaxing. I want an executive shave too!!!
i really enjoyed the background convo. i learned where whoever that is talking in the background went to college, grand school, where they grew up, how long theyve been in their current location. a construction company some guy worked for.....nice.
definitely not ASMR
What a great, meticulous barber; I wish I had one like him in my town.
Wow! I'd drive to the Twin Cities just to get a shave there. The attention to detail is awesome.
This guy rocks.
A thoroughly relaxing video and an awesome shave that I bet makes you feel like a million bucks.
Gotta love the guy's commitment to his craft
I love the barber's energy!
Great shave and attention to detail! Keep up the good work!
I appreciate and admire what the master barber is doing here. However in my local barber shop, with 5 to 6 customers all walking in and waiting for their turn, if Giacomo would ever try this detailed unhurried approach, he's be yelled at by the patrons! LOL
This man is truly a master of his craft!
I love the efford he takes to explain everything, triying to pretend is not just a weird snob place.
I've had a beard for over 30 years and if I ever decided to shave it off, I would have it done like this.
That were A LOT of steam towels. They must have a HUGE stock of them.
Registerme They kept coming out of nowhere. What amazed me more was that they all seemed to disappear after they were used. I was expecting a huge pile of towels somewhere, but they were always kept out of sight.
The guys' look is that of "kill me now" after the Hunger Games fella said he was going for round two.
That’s a close shave. All that prep was awesome.
Close your eyes rookie.
graycloud057 clearly he’s not comfortable with another man touching him.
Hope Jim is doing fine and healthy. Amazing barber, I'm in Vancouver, Canada. Wish to meet him one day when all the craziness calms down..
I wouldn't go to work after this. I'd have to go straight home and have a nap. So relaxing.
I love the vibe of this shop!
this looks so good! the barber has a nice mannerism as well. love his mustache too!
Iain Mars Mike certainly enjoyed himself. Mustache Jim is a great guy too.
I wonder how many times he used the "it's my first time too" joke
I'm sure that was his first time for that joke
9 years ago!? Back then asmr wasn't a thing yet. So this is one original.
Really appreciate how he explained why he was doing some things. Watched a few a these, first guy to explain like he did
I feel like the mustache man is Dr. Zoidberg in human form
venomous why do I agree?
Gi the
Wwwewqqserkk

I like ships word son!
AND YOU MY NIGGA FRIEND IS A FUCKING SLAVE :D
Nothing better than that!!! One of the best thing of being man.
This guy is very good at what he does and he takes the time to explain what he does too.... that a 10 out of 10 in my book
