- Microfished for some african jewel cichlids, oscars, mayan cichlids, peacock bass, golden topminnows, and eastern mosquitofish. Even though the fish were small, it was a great day of microfishing for some of South Florida's exotic cichlids.
Awesome underwater footage! I was gonna stay home today but this makes me wanna go fish
Thank you! Good luck out there.
@The Fishing Nomad - nice video!
Thank you
Hey man I like your videos. It looks like you’re next to the turnpike? Any chance you could tell me the actual location? I don’t mind scouting out my own spots but I live a good bit north near Jacksonville and love coming down every now and then and catching these guys but it can be a little bit tricky finding areas they hang out in. I’ve got a couple good spots one in West Palm another in Pembroke so I’d love to add to it
Send me a DM on Instagram. @thefishingnomad_youtube
So jealous of the variety of species you have out there
It definitely makes the fishing a lot more exciting here. Thanks for watching.
You gotta try circle hooks !
I went 8 for 8 on the peas today with 3 ciclids as by-catch. Never lose a pea in circle hooks.
Lake Osborne up north of you .
Good for you getting out and sharing you day.
Thanks. Going to have to pick some up.
Golden top minnow
Thanks. One of the few natives I caught that day.
You beat me to it
Where is this spot and keep up the good vids
It's the G15 canal in Plantation.
The Fishing Nomad thank you and I like these types of fishing videos
The Fishing Nomad and do you think there are bigger fish in there
Absolutely. I've filmed a lot of my videos in that canal. Caught and have seen lots of big peacocks as well as snook, tarpon, and snakeheads.
Man, I am in the Midwest . Do u know anyone that would ship jewel cichlids for aquariums
They're pricy, but there are online vendors that sell them. Here's one I found.

We’re do you get hooks that small
These I just got at Walmart, but they weren't that small. If you want the real small ones you can find them on Amazon.
Pretty sure the gold speckled was a gulf killifish.
