Geardy here: thanks for featuring the GP38 pack, it is my first mod so your reaction put a huge smile on my face. I’m glad you enjoy thicc sounds as much as I do. Few things, 1: For some reason when DTG made the horn sounds for the GP38 they didn’t include an “in” and “out” parameter/sound file, so if you use a loop you don’t get the ramp up and echo of the horn and it just sounds fake as hell. That’s why I used an average length horn blast as a compromise. I haven’t figured out how to fix this yet. 2: Feedback taken about the fan noises in RUN 8, I will likely keep working on it and will update the .pak on train sim community as it develops. 3: Nailed the pronunciation of my name haha (which is rare) Good on ya mate, I love the vibe you bring to this sort of content, keep it up!
@ It’s a CAT C18, the last time the MBTA used a Cummins generator for HEP was on the GP40MCs before they were rebuild in the early 2010s and had them replaced with CATs
In relation to the F40 sounds, matt peddlesden has said on the forums the reason why they didnt use them is because they dont match up with the simugraph, the F40 in boston uses the same setup as the F40 caltrain variant, the MBTA one irl is different to caltrain so they are waiting on data.
I heard from KAT on the discord that the new F40 sounds needed a new sound cue, and there was apparently some missing I think? Maybe dovetail might push out an update for them I hope. That HEP Gen ain’t as good either
They didn’t add the sounds to the F40 because they’re probably waiting for Train Sim World 6 to come out Dovetail will always keep up this bs every year as long as people keep buying the new games
@Rhys9586 the crossfading of rev ranges is pretty bland, with no sense of mechanical involvement with bass lines changing as the fuel rack is set higher to rev up against the increased load.
@ agree completely. Unfortunately from a modders standpoint all we can really do is change the samples. The game takes care of the transitions. I also wish they would ad an axis parameter in for the horns so they weren't just on/off. There is so much more they could do with sound in this game.
@ that doesn't really make sense. Surely if you have some well recorded samples it would have made the game better for the end user to have them in, and as a side benefit you get paid. Seems like a win win, no?

Prime mover for the F40 sounds amazing, I just wish someone out there would fix the abysmal sound of that pesky HEP Generator
I keep hearing folks talk about this. Is the HEP in the game too loud or too quiet? Not sure what I’m listening for.
@@ct737wayyyyyy too quiet
The locomotive uses a Cummins kta38 generator which in real life is insanely loud.

@@mbrproductions160So the 3c stands for 3CAT?
I was just at back bay watching one of these F40s take off. It was LOUD! I feel like these are still too quiet.
dovetail : make sound fixed to our horrible sand patch sound ? nahhhh lets resell a game . im over with dovetail

Oh baby this is amazing
That Rs5T sounds great
the F40 samples are amazing! Awful RPM mixing notch-to-notch, but the samples are great

It requires changes to simugraph and data to know the rpms and such but dtg have been unable to get that data yet so it's using the caltrain setup
Can you show a tutorial how to install the mods?
4:30
Is that a horn mod or is that real
Read the description. But it's a mod
They didn’t add the sounds to the F40 because they’re probably waiting for Train Sim World 6 to come out Dovetail will always keep up this bs every year as long as people keep buying the new games
Welp, clearly that doesn't seem like the case for now as DTG decided to implement the F40 sounds as of today
Can you download new sounds on ps4
Never
pc only
Is the gp only for the Boston?
Well it's for the 3 gp38s in tsw
Ok thanks😊
Is it available for ps5?
@@frost_blitz8371 no pc only
@@robertloper5361 ahh man😢😔
The mixing of the sounds is still very weak. The samples are much better but, man..
Care to elaborate on this?

@@Rhys9586 I don't believe in the competence of their lead sound engineer which is exactly why I told them no to buying any of my samples years ago.
