Nao Kawakita, the drummer for Max the Hormone, has been a big inspiration of Akane's. Oh, and this band is actually very tight-knit off the stage; their chemistry is much more than just the band. Their musical journey was not a cake-walk. They grew up organically playing those smokey, tiny venues, supporting each other through rough times (both singers have had vocal surgeries, Kanami (band's songwriter) had her compositions rejected for years but was encouraged by the members). It is extremely easy to be a fan of this group, because the women are tireless in their desire to grow bettter and create great music, please their fans, while remaining humble and down to earth. There is no prima donna in the band.
Band-Maid is a phenomenal band. These ladies are just very talented. Kanami the lead guitarist is a great composer. She composes their songs. Misa, the bassist, and Akane, the drummer, is top notch. Miku, the rhythm guitar, if you can believe it, didn't' even know how to play the guitar when they first started the band. She is writes the lyrics for the band. She has a come a long way under the tutelage of her sensei Kanami and improving every year. You will not find a band more cohesive and tight as Band-Maid. This is a masterpiece that will be a classic in the coming years.
Band-Maid is IMO the best rockband on the planet right now... They have an main composer who is talented through the roof with Kanami (lead guitar) and she also knows very well how to play. Akane (Gorilla) is freaking talented and knows exactly how to support each and every member and how to fill the songs. MISA is just doing her thing, but in a way that it fits so PERFECT into their songs, it´s so damn good arranged! SAIKI knows how to play with the crowd, has a beautiful and unique voice and MIKU is just the glue to keep them together, she learned A LOT to be able to be the rhythm guitar and her voice is soothing SAIKI´s voice even more. There is NO weak link in this band! Most of the bands have an "star" someone who is more talented, not in this band. And even further the chemistry from these ladies is infectous and they are really close friends, you can see it and they do a lot together also in their freetime. I don´t know how MIKU was able to find all of them one by one, but she did such an awesome job... Hail to the pigeon for that! Greetings from Germany, stay healthy
Onset is the 427th reason I love BAND-MAID. I've listened to and watched these ladies every day for the last 3 years and every day for the last 3 years I've asked why BAND-MAID is not the biggest band in the world. I couldn't believe that I hadn't heard of them before, either.
Because no giant corporation is bribing the mercenary press to write about them. Yet when the digital release of Conqueror dropped, within a day or so it was the 10th most downloaded album from iTunes on the planet. And when the CD/DVD came out, within a day or two it was #11 in international album sales (in all formats). Fans telling friends drove this. I expect the new album to rise to single digits. I hope the band is getting a good percentage. I notice in interviews it was mentioned that Kanami plans to build a house with her own studio for them to use.
On the 6th day God went to see BAND-MAID play live & saw they were great. You can't blame him for taking Sunday off, he was still drained from Saturdays show :)
That was such a fun video to watch, they are definitely tented. I thought I read somewhere that they were Korean... Doesn't really matter, I liked them. Hopefully I can get the reaction up.
Japan is the only country in Asia with a long history of hard rock and metal. Because of this long history, Maximum the hormone and BAND-MAID and LOVEBITES were born.
MtH is a Japanese band and they are known for being somewhat troublesome for reactions. Incidentally, their drummer, Nao, was a big inspiration for BAND MAID's Akane in her early years.

Great reaction! I'm subscribing. I've watched a lot of Band-Maid reaction videos, and what you get a lot from people that really understand music is "ooh, let's watch that again", "ahh, ahh, ahh" and "jesus"....
Their “jamming” is not a kind of improvisation, but it’s a fruit from careful construction, arrangement, and hard work. You’ll see it if you listen more to them, and then, you’ll find this band PROG. BTW, these girls are close to each other off stage like sisterhood, and the fans know about it.

'the talent in this band is ridiculous' - truer words were never spoken Miku has gotten pretty darned good. Kinda like to see a new update of this with her doing even more
Good job mate. Not seen your channel before. Its always a plus when the host gives actual reasons they like a certain part or the songs in general. As you have done a couple now, it's time to learn who the Maids are by name. There will be a test next time ;) Notes: Others have pointed out. This isn't a free jam but composed. It may sound like it is, but that's largely due to the bands discipline and lead composer and guitarist Kaname's skills as a composer. Always serving the track is a priority and why solos don't get out of hand in this band. Here's a little help for your future videos, which I hope to see many! Once upon a time in Japan.... Miku (Who is a 300+ year old pigeon... long story) was in a short lived "idol" band in Japan and ended up working in a "Maid Cafe". She came up with idea to create a rocking band in maid costumes. A "Gap" as its called in appearance to action. Miku found singer/songwriter Kaname (Lead Guitar and main Composer), who knew Akane - AKA "The Gorilla - she likes bananas a lot! (drums - Jazz and Classically Trained), who knew Misa - AKA the "Barefoot Assassin" (Bass, Jazz and Classically trained). [Grab a post-it now and paste to your desk - Miku (B/U and Rhythm,) Kaname (Lead) Akane (Drums) Misu (Bass) Saiki (Vocals)] Putting it together... It became apparent Mikus voice wasn't really suited to the style and so they decided to go find Lead Vocals and brought in Saiki. This basically put Miku out of a job in the band she created, but instead she adapted and Kaname started teaching her guitar. That's right. She couldn't even play in the first video they did 6 years ago. Now she has a 70-80s style aggressive punk style attack on rhythm and Kaname is constantly expanding her guitar parts in challenging ways. All while singing backup. Personally, I never could sing and play ha-ha Their first actual song they wrote and recorded was "Alone". They have changed label since and have joined a new one now for the new album going into 2021. Their look, songs, style etc. are their own. Not studio directed. Pretty cool these days. Note: Miku is the main lyricist and writes in heavy metaphors that can be interpreted many ways and often confusing in translation. So, they often add parts that audiences of any language can sing along. Look forward to seeing your kids reaction ;)
After this one they played Rock in me. In it Miku is the lead singer. When you will be out of official live videos, there are good sound quality fancams especially on Vladimir Chupin chanel.
"Miku's Magic Time", another way they give Saiki's voice a rest and add to the fun. Another reason we love them so much. Miku is a natural for this with the years she spent in a Maid Cafe.... Talk about conntecting with an audience. ua-cam.com/video/x6iSf73LiQ0/v-deo.html&ab_channel=NerdOD
Has your daughter heard Band-Maid before? As far as suggestions, all of their songs...haha. One of their harder songs "Rinne" (Reincarnation) is great, and "Wonderland" shows off Saiki's vocals. Thanks for your reactions, great job.
That is not their only all English song I believe. Just the accents make it hard. Also, the influence of Visconti really makes it a poor representation of the band IMHO. Nice song, not great and below their normal level.
For another one Daydreaming is balad, Wonderland live shows Saikis capabilities and Band Maiko is something little different 😉. All on their oficial chanel
Love your frank and honest react. I love maximum the hormone too and I would like to introduce you to another must see Japanese speed metal band "unlucky morpheus". Keep on going with Bandmaid will make me very happy :-)
Onset is one of their songs they do to allow Saiki to rest. Miku will do her Magic Time show and Miku also has a few songs she can do as lead vocals. This allows them to have breaks about half way through the show. They can play 20+ songs in a show
If only MTH was actually Korean, I’d have an entire country of rock music to discover. Unfortunately the rock/metal scene there is almost non-existent other than some few niche corners. The few rock bands that do exist in the mainstream can barely be called even pop rock as they had to tone down their sound just to survive. In the current time Japan on top of being the 2nd largest music industry in the world, also has probably the best music scene esp. for rock and metal. While most other markets are pretty much dominated by Hiphop and electronic pop.
@Toxic Gnome Unfortunately the video is too dark and you can't see the band. Here is another video with the same song. ua-cam.com/video/UJ87zVaw0L4/v-deo.html
There is a video of Akane (drummer of BAND-MAID) doing a drum cover of a"Maximum the Hormone" track. It was made in 2014?...maybe 15...But it was a while ago. Back then Akane was suffering from back pain due to her drumming slouch when playing (you'll see it in the video). She has since had treatments and now plays sitting more upright...Nao the drummer of MtH was her inspiration to become a drummer. Do please check out the video..its most excellent. ua-cam.com/video/KPgMD-nPITQ/v-deo.html Oh!..I forgot..Akane is wearing "The Tiny Hat"..hehe!.."The Tiny Hat of POWER!!!"
Maximum the Hormone is Japanese. they do a LOT of fun music videos(while rocking the crap out of their songs) the drummer Akane loves the drummer of MTH(she even did a drum cover of their song) "Benjo(toilet) Sandal Dance" ua-cam.com/video/_ik6UBQmXW0/v-deo.html in regards to the chemistry, the Bass/Lead Guitar/Drummer have worked with each other for a long time before even joining Band-Maid. Misa+Kanami went to same music school, Akane+Kanami were in a pop band together right before joining Band-Maid. Miku and Saiki actually cover each other's weaknesses as well, so the whole band is very well rounded. a very TRUE form of it wouldnt work without even 1 of them missing. also recommend checking out AfterLife open.spotify.com/track/65MUNGnALylOQFOD2z8NNj this is the album "TEASER" for Unseen World coming out in less than 2 weeks! ua-cam.com/video/DNqzqhYWNpc/v-deo.html
LOL ... Maximum the Hormone is reportedly Akane's favorite band. She attributes a lot of her drumming inspiration to them. BTW they are Japanese. She has also covered them in the past. This is pretty old ... say hello to the little hat. It has since been lost somewhere in time, but not forgotten ... I think this is pretty awesome. ua-cam.com/video/KPgMD-nPITQ/v-deo.html I have said it before and I will say it again. The secret of BAND MAID is not that they are all talented individuals ... the secret is that they work and sound so good TOGETHER. I don't think you can find a more cohesive band playing any genre right now.
I absolutely love Maximum The Hormone. Its sad that my first reaction got blocked. I think of reaction vids as free advertising. BUT also funny how each band supports another and works together either musically or inspires one another or both. But both don't stand together to allow others to enjoy a first experience. If that makes sense on a reaction level
@@toxicgnome8445 It does. I'm sorry it got blocked as I would have loved to see it. MtH is a crazy band. That explains the lack of reactions to them. I agree about the free advertising but there will always be artists like Prince and Don Henley who want to completely control where their music is played and by whom.
@@PinD-PANIC any artist deserves to have control and credit for their work. Ive been there, ive done that, its not easy. Its sooooo much work to bear your soul thru music but so much fun. Never knowing who gets it or not,.. yet caring but not caring, if that makes sense? Today is a dufferent d day.. U need all u can get. My feeling is, its the ones in charge of the moneies for the band that want all they can get while the bands just want people to know who they are and too have people hear them. Its sad that most bands have no control over that. Still to this day when they put in the hard work to create and the ones that have the contracts on the bands just want the money . some things never chage.. Makes me happy I left the music industry yet still sad I had too
No. That is not “jamming”. They are not “just playing around.” That is a COMPOSITION by Kanami. Check out other recordings of Onset and you will see. Also, Korean “writing” looks nothing like Japanese “writing.” Take a look and you will see

[Grab a post-it now and paste to your desk - Miku (B/U and Rhythm,) Kaname (Lead) Akane (Drums) Misu (Bass) Saiki (Vocals)]
Putting it together...
Personally, I never could sing and play ha-ha
Their first actual song they wrote and recorded was "Alone".
That's a ton to take in. LOL I know they weren't just jamming. I like it when it feels like a jam session. Thank you for all that.
Freedom live next for more fun
They are amazing...no doubt...🤘🤘🤘
great to see your reactions!!
I've heard of the maid cafe's. I'll check out the magic time one for sure. Thank you
Talking sense..."Stay Safe"...stay home...listen to Maids (support them...buy their music. Treat yourself to dvd/bluray concert!!)
Has your daughter heard Band-Maid before? As far as suggestions, all of their songs...haha. One of their harder songs "Rinne" (Reincarnation) is great, and "Wonderland" shows off Saiki's vocals. Thanks for your reactions, great job.
Thank you for the suggestions, I'll write them down. She has heard of them from me talking about them, I don't believe she's heard them.
Freedom is one of their fun moments, other than Rock in me,
It's a huge coincidence that Band-Maid drummer (Akane Hirose) has cited Maximum The Hormone drummer (Nao Kawakita) as her main inspiration.
Onset is the song called Saiki pee break by Maidiac's. It's only done live and is to give the sing a break. One of the best instrumental songs ever!
I guess Max the hormone is Japanese band...same as BandMaid.
They are Japanese
Check out the dragon cries it is in English
That is not their only all English song I believe. Just the accents make it hard. Also, the influence of Visconti really makes it a poor representation of the band IMHO. Nice song, not great and below their normal level.
For another one Daydreaming is balad, Wonderland live shows Saikis capabilities and Band Maiko is something little different 😉. All on their oficial chanel
U r a good man, for u like BM, amen!
I appreciate that
Love your frank and honest react. I love maximum the hormone too and I would like to introduce you to another must see Japanese speed metal band "unlucky morpheus". Keep on going with Bandmaid will make me very happy :-)
I will write them down, thank you
I will write that down, thank you
Onset is one of their songs they do to allow Saiki to rest.
I think saiki had to go to the lil girls room when they did onset. These girls rock.
I heard that "Play" was originally an instrumental. I guess Saiki liked the song and asked Miku to make some lyrics for it...idk...
Interesting, if true.
Surprised no one has asked in any of the Band-Maid vids yet so BABYMETAL - Road of Resistance Live in Japan Official.
@Toxic Gnome
Unfortunately the video is too dark and you can't see the band. Here is another video with the same song.

It was fine on my end but I'll check into it. Sorry you couldn't see it. But thank you
Yep, some of them(MTH) looks Korean.
You wanna hear them go insane? Listen to Black Hole, there's no MV or Live as of this message as its really new, but its insane
Max reminds me of Zappa,,,, anybody fell the same?
Maximum the Hormone is Japanese. they do a LOT of fun music videos(while rocking the crap out of their songs)
the drummer Akane loves the drummer of MTH(she even did a drum cover of their song) "Benjo(toilet) Sandal Dance"

in regards to the chemistry, the Bass/Lead Guitar/Drummer have worked with each other for a long time before even joining Band-Maid. Misa+Kanami went to same music school, Akane+Kanami were in a pop band together right before joining Band-Maid. Miku and Saiki actually cover each other's weaknesses as well, so the whole band is very well rounded. a very TRUE form of it wouldnt work without even 1 of them missing.

this is the album "TEASER" for Unseen World coming out in less than 2 weeks!

I have said it before and I will say it again.
Still to this day when they put in the hard work to create and the ones that have the contracts on the bands just want the money
. some things never chage.. Makes me happy I left the music industry yet still sad I had too
MISA MISA MISA! just hope your daughter likes Rock or Metal
No. That is not “jamming”. They are not “just playing around.” That is a COMPOSITION by Kanami. Check out other recordings of Onset and you will see. Also, Korean “writing” looks nothing like Japanese “writing.” Take a look and you will see
Its sr-71 sir
Yes, sr 71 or sum41 I think I said but yes you are right
Leave the reaction for 6 days then try again works sometimes
Are you talking about the Maximum reaction? I hope I can get that to upload, half the time I was in tears from laughter, from the video, the rest of the time I was impressed with how good they are.
Be very careful with MTH reactions. At least one channel has been deleted due to them.
