As a professional detailer ill have to say this trick is great for the "quick sale" of your car or for a quick spruce up. But it will only last about 1 month before it looks just as bad again. By sanding your removing all the protective coating and even tho clear coating takes extra steps is way more worth it in the long run. You can also do a clear wrap if that suits you better as well. Much love from nz!
Great video! Is there a ceramic coating (small bottle) specifically for headlight application? Can you recommend one that is affordable (not the $100 used by restorers in the US)?
You have not removed any protective coating by sanding simply because after so many years, it has broken down and ultra-violet light has damaged the surface giving us the dull, yellowish appearance. BTW, sanding makes them frosted, dull or whatever but not faded! OK, so lastly, are you quite sure that wax will block or absorb UV? I would do this in an instant if I knew how to make it last for years instead of weeks. I got some pretty good OEM lights to replace some aftermarket trash but they're starting to get dull now. (Again, not faded!) 😉
This is why I won’t do this on my car, it’s a complete waste of time and money, if after a few weeks they go dull again, or possibly even worse than before because you’ve sanded them. I’d rather get some second hand ones from a newer car that are in better condition than yours, or just buy new ones. I know there very expensive but at least the issue will never happen again while you own the car
@@jonnygti Sanding them only makes them more dull before you finish buffing and polishing. All we need is an effective UV protectant after that, or a generous benefactor to provide a couple of new factory headlights. These would cost about what my car is worth now so I'm not strongly tempted to go that route with my own money!
cooollll i finally found someone who has a chaser and makes amazing contentsss your videos just made my day 🥺

Use meguire products for headlights much better
How are we
Dont use 500
If they are how yours were just do 2000 grit. Less scratches, same results.
