I appreciate the video. I’ve been trying to get mine to close flat for almost a year now. I have a lot of trouble getting the hoop in the right place.

When it props it up I just fold it inwards as far as it will go. Are you keeping lots of gear inside the tent when packed up?

Spirit of 1876 we haven’t been. After watching your video I redeployed it for the fifth or sixth time yesterday, made sure the windows were all closed and it closed up just like it was supposed to. The first few times I had a couple of wool blankets in there that I was wanting to leave in there. I finally pulled them out and got it to close. It wasn’t right because I only had a couple of inches of strap left for the cover. The first time I redeployed it at the house I realized I hadn’t hooked up the bungies on the inside. That and the windows closed made a big difference I believe. I would still like to leave those blankets in there though.

@@djlyon117 Awesome, glad you're getting it worked out. Depending on how thick the blankets are you should be able to leave some stuff in there.. I would pre-fold it in half and set it on the stationary side of the tent and see if that works.

      @@Spiritof1876 thanks, that’s what I was thinking.

I have a Walkabout 62 and have had the entry hoop (I believe . . . or was it a rainfly hoop?) flop out several times when closing. I noticed recently that there are male/female velcro straps sewn on the the interior of the entry vestibule. I keep no bedding in the tent. Velcro-ing the collapsed entry hoop poles to the inside seems works, and seemed to fold a bit more level. Is that what that velcro is intended for? Who knows? How about that small gray rubber holey mat that comes with the tent. What is that for? My wife uses it as a beverage mat on a patio table at home. Lol!

We are getting the Walkabout 62 for our Jeep JK. My biggest concern is packing up. I’m thinking I’m going to have to climb on top of the rack to pack it up and I’m not looking forward to that. Thanks for the video.

It shouldn't be too bad but something like a Moki Doorstep might help you out, it's on our website.

Is it necessary to store the RTT indoors during the winter(snowy) months or will it be safe to keep on the Jeep?

Most people run these tents year around, it's really up to you, but yes it's safe for 4 seasons expsure.

@@Spiritof1876 thank you . Is there anything I can do to weather/water proof it?

I have a Tepui Ruggedized XL (four-person) tent, very similar to this one. It takes two of us about 10 minutes minimum to open it, and over 20 minutes minimum to close it. I don't know how people can claim to do it in 3-5 minutes. I want to see real time video showing it done in such a short time. Prove me wrong.

I'll try to make one this week! I definitely don't hook up all the bungees inside, no buttoning down flaps, don't zip the windows etc. Setting up the tent is easy, it's dealing with all the windows and polling and buttoning that kills the time. I leave that all the same for next time and don't have to touch anything.

How long does it realistically take you to set up and take down? I know people say 3-5 minutes but i'm think it will take a little longer than that.

    • @Spiritof1876

Hey Garrett it took us 4 minutes and 30 seconds to set up and is about the same to break down. This was when we first got the tent so it is very quick.
