WHY DID I START A VLOG? | Get Off The Couch Ep1 | Shawn Nelson | CEO of LOVESAC

I'm Shawn Nelson the CEO and Founder of a company called Lovesac. We became known for making awesome NOT bean bags known as "Lovesacs", and, now, we've designed and built the world's most adaptable couch we call Sactionals.
I'm trying hard to build Lovesac into something huge--something more than just getting big and making money--a company that is more meaningful. We have this very unique philosophy called Designed for Life. We believe that products should be built for life and designed to evolve with you.
I'm from Salt Lake City, Utah and now I spend my time flying between the Lovesac Headquarters in Stamford CT AND our new product development and design studio in Utah and I'm always somewhere in between or traveling the world representing my company.
I have four crazy kids, an amazing wife and a pretty hectic life. I started this CEO vlog because I thought it would be fun to document the ride. Not everyone lives between two USA states and China trying to build a company. It's taken me a really long time to get where we are right now but I believe we are on the cusp of something huge in the next few months.
I just want to capture it all. I want to be able to, some day, look back and see the ride that it was in real time. And that is what this GET OFF THE COUCH vlog is all about.
I want to bring you with me. This is your change to see it for what it is, for all of it's shortcomings for all of it's challenges - and that, really, is what this vlog is about.
It's easy to have a vision and much harder to go and make that vision harder. The first step is just to get off the couch and go do it. Go start it. And this vlog, Get Off The Couch, isn't just about the first step, it's about the first step we are taking everyday in something. The first step in some aspect of what you're doing. Get Off The Couch will motivate you to get up and go do something you've put off doing because it's hard or it may be because you don't know how to do it.
I want to help you take that first step and just begin making it happen. We have big ambitions to build Lovesac. So, I hope we get it right together.
This vlog, GET OFF THE COUCH, takes an honest look at the process of figuring it out. I mean, who really knows how to try and build a billion dollar business? There is a lot of luck and work involved and along the way we hope to get there. Maybe I'm full of crap, maybe it won't work, maybe we won't get to where we are trying to go ... BUT we've got this far and Lovesac is on it's way.
