  • There has been a lot of talk in the media and national conversation about manufacturing overseas and the impact that is having on business, worldwide. Believe it or not, China has played a huge role in Lovesac’s coming up and scaling our Lovesac couch platform, #Sactionals.

You really have to read the writing on the wall for #Lovesac and see what we're doing here -- and how it's different from what every other furniture brand and retailer is doing. We're playing a long game.
If you don’t know my story, I learned Chinese when I was 19 years old -- I did a service mission for my church and knowing the language has been a huge blessing in helping me develop personal and meaningful relationships with my Manufacturing partners. These relationships are everything. But you want to know the real secrets of maintaining great relationships in Asia? Eating together in particular SEAFOOD.
Lovesac began looking outside of China for new suppliers 2 years ago, well ahead of the curve when Trump’s costly tariff debacle took root. But, looking forward, this distracting situation has really forced our hand to move our manufacturing even more rapidly out of China to other countries in the region: Vietnam, Malaysia.
We also have other countries on our list and ultimately we'd love to move a lot of our manufacturing back to America, but, in the meantime we now have the opportunity to employ people in all these other great countries in the region and we’re having a lot of fun traveling and make a new friend and meeting new people. We also found that some of our current Chinese vendors wanted to build factories on our behalf in these new countries as well -- same quality products no matter where we build it.
We are relentless in terms of product quality design and delivering that Lovesac to the people who support us. Our customers the #LovesacFamily
So this episode covers all that and shows you inside how #Sactionals are made--down to the millimeter.

We have had our Sactional for a little over a year. I have never been more proud or enjoyed a piece of furniture so much. The customer service is amazing- we had one of the 12 cushions that began to compress after about 9 months. No questions asked- I had a brand new cushion shipped to me within 3 days. My
Last couch..... I got rid of because I was tired of fighting with the manufacturer.

Love your videos and the attention to detail and quality, will be buying a sectional within the next year when we get our first home. Pricy but we’ve had two couches in three years. It’s an investment but we love the idea of adaptability.

Looking good Shawn! Watching your success from a far. You've had your ups and downs but the road is long. The sactional pivot was impressive. Perhaps our paths will cross again. Be well.

I hope you are still exploring manufacturing in the U.S. This would be a value-add to the brand, in my opinion.

Shawn Nelson I was so excited to finally purchase a LoveSac. I drove 2 hours to visit a mall store. I purchased 16 pieces but was unsure which color to choose so I wound up canceling order (until I made up my mind). The Lovesac sales person boasted about the customer service with your team. I was thrilled to hear that as I value customer service, quality and sustainability from retailers whom I make purchases (Costco, Nordstrom’s, pottery barn). When I canceled my order, I went through the love sales person. He assured me it was no problem at all. Unfortunately six phone calls later and five emails later I have still not received my refund. My purchase was $5000. I also had difficulty getting a love sac manager at your call-center to call me. The follow up from your leader ship team was very disappointing. I tried to locate your email address and or phone number and again found it difficult to obtain. Not one of your team members would provide that information. So now I will try this vlog. I was definitely disappointed in the experience I had with your customer service team. I wound up purchasing a 14 piece set from Costco. My hope is that dealing through Costco will ensure I get the service necessary should I have any issues with my purchase. Update- 9/25/20. I finally was able to get my issue resolved and I am told my refund should be on its way.

Well it’s been a year since you posted your update on 09/25/2020: your refund check was to be mailed to you. Question is: Did you indeed receive your refund per your request? I’m hoping you did. Please UPDATE on your 2020 update! Thanks 😊

Wish y'all put as much effort into quality of customer service as you do quality of product. Customer service was so bad I returned the couch and bought used off Craigslist.
