Would You Take Your Babies Out In These Covid Times?

- While changing reborn baby Maizie (Maizie sculpt by Andrea Arcello, artist Maira Silukova) into a cute Cinderella dress by Five Little Monkeys I chat about my thoughts on taking my babies out during these times. Apologies as my first video stopped recording and I had thought I lost it, but thankfully was able to recover part of it. So, this may be a bit repetitive - thanks for bearing with me!

I do take mine out at times.. with a blanket over the seat, to keep “germs” away.. COVID doesn’t scare me much.. I go on with my life
Hi Maisie is gorgeous. I’ve taken my reborn out a couple of times recently. I’m in the U.K. and although COVID is still not fab. I have a congenital heart condition and also suffer with anxiety depression and PTSD. Having my reborn with me when I’m out helps me an awful lot. I’m all fully jabbed up and had my booster. Getting back out and having reborn Ivy with me my anxiety is so low now it’s amazing. I am of course very careful when I’m out with the hand washing and hand sanitiser but I don’t get massively hung up or worried about it. I had to shield for about 18 months and it was hell. So having my freedom and some semblance of normality back it’s just amazing
Your Maizie is so cute and I'm always obsessed with Disney too lol 😂 I just recently went back to doing local dollie meetups and taking my babies out, even back to flying with them. Germs was a huge concern for me, especially at the onset of the pandemic when people weren't completely sure how this virus was spreading, so I kept mine at home and didn't take them out. But now that I realize it's more of a person to person transmission moreso than objects, I'm not as hesitant to do outings. I take the normal sanitary precautions, and then some just to err on the side of caution. It looks like all of the doll shows will be back next year and maybe even some new ones, which I'm pretty excited about. So hopefully things will have calmed down by then. Even if we're still masking up I'd be ok with that. It'll just be nice to see other collectors and their dolls in person again.

Your reborn is so cute! I have taken my reborn out only 3 times and I clean her when I get home.

I only take mine out if I’m visiting a elderly and I share for the comfort effect.. or if someone wants to see one in person
Yes I do take my babies out also a medical worker have survived Covid although nearly not have had all my shots and recently had booster . Iam in and out in community settings with my job and clients. I use my precaution wear allot but my babies are a extended part of whom I am as a reborn collector and passionate artist . Be safe in all you do and you do u .😊 I am also one that I don’t really like others touching my personal babies but I do have and have been making reborn Covid memory babies besides my others . So good topic and real need for the reborn dolls even with Covid out there
I have taken mine out a handful of times during the pandemic but only because we have mostly shut down with nowhere to go anyway. The few times my friends and I went to the mall we did let the odd person hold our dolls because we know now that covid doesn’t transmit through surfaces anyway and we have mask mandates here so we felt ok with it. I can’t wait till our city gets rid of the mask mandate. Even with things reopen now I don’t have a great time going out having to wear the mask. I have trouble breathing and overheat very easily which has lead me to almost pass out a few times or start to feel nauseous where I have to sit down for a few moments. So until mask mandates are gone I don’t really go out much anyway.
Hi Krystle! So nice to hear from you :) I feel you on the masks -- they're not comfortable to wear for a long time. I can live with it for indoors only but have been avoiding malls for that reason. That's nice that you've been able to take the babies out and have some fun doing that :) xoxo

I wouldn't if I had one. I have been trying for 6 years to get a reborn n I keep trying bcuz I'm 73 years old!! Would like to find one B4 I get old age ailments! LOL.

No, I dont take my reborns out. I am a nurse, and I worry about my family, and kids as well. Not enough mask wearers, or vaccinations. Sadly its peaking again.....but no I cant take them out.
