I saw this on the last day of 2024. Ten days later, I still think it's the best film of 2024. I'm American and had never heard of Robbie Williams. Doesn't matter. this is a great film. Best film musical I've seen in many decades. I'm so glad that you liked it too!
Robbie is huge all over the world except for USA which is strange, he still pulls HUGE audiences here in Australia, much loved for his straight talk. I saw this film yesterday, Im 65 and I love it
Being an American Robbie fan since 1999... thank you for truly "seeing" him and sharing such a lovely, vulnerable review. Can't wait to see it opening day!! 😊
All the reviews seem very positive. They gambled but it looks like it paid off, I’m intrigued. I haven’t been to the cinema in a very long time and the fact that a biopic film of Robbie Films as a Chimpanzee may make me go again was certainly unforeseen.
@@creativeamerican8811 I hope you enjoy it when you check it out! The studio actually sent me a digital screener for the film after watching this at a press screening, so I gave it a rewatch at home last week and I loved it even more.
as a robbie fan - I can say i've been following the movie for quite a while. I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I can't wait to see the movie! I would highly recommend you to watch his Netflix documentary! I'm sure you gonna enjoy it so much! can't wait for Better Man to come out!!!
Hi Anthony. It's Andrew Erroch fae Paisley in Scotland here. I really enjoyed your review. I felt it was well balanced, well presented and it makes me all the more eager to see this movie. Æ 🙏
Great review man saw the trailer and when I saw him being played as an ape I was confused but hearing you explain the reasoning it makes sense, glad to hear you enjoyed this one and def got me intrigued to check it out as it seems like a really well made biopic
You've made me even more excited for this flick than I was before. Reading great reviews from film festival critics led me to the excellent 4-part Netflix docu-series Robbie Williams. That made me a brand new fan who has discovered a treasure trove of performances, interviews & videos from the past 30+ yrs on YT! He is a spectacular entertainer & songwriter that has been mostly hidden from Americans all this time. Hopefully this film will inspire interest from the U.S. in his phenomenal career!
@@GjpgrD Thanks so much for watching and I’m glad my review was able to excite you! I was so blown away by this flick! Funny enough, I’ve also just received a digital screener for this flick, so I plan to check it out again asap!
I am big big Take That fan, still today. They are still huge and crushing #1s everytime they release new music, and I saw them (for the millionth time) in Malta for a special event they did there 2 months ago. All this is to say I know *a lot* about them and Robbie, and let me tell you, this movie is so detailed. Of course they had to bend some realities and for example placing something that it really happened in a different setting or whatever. But it was all true down to the tiny details. A silly non spoilery example: when Robbie sees Gary's butler and says now he thinks he's Elton John. Looks just like a silly line. But it's actually true: Gary has admitted many times (in his book for example) that when they became friends with Elton, Gary took him as his inspiration on how to live his new rich life. And he actually hired a butler cause he saw Elton having one. This movie is so detailed, there is no scene or line which is just random.

I think this may have become my favorite biopic, or one of my favorites 😂 It’s a shame the ape element didn’t work for you, man. It works so much for me.
I wish I would’ve went to see this, especially knowing it’s Robin Williams’ portrayal of himself and that’s why it’s a monkey. Such an interesting idea for a film. I know how much we both love Robin Williams, so it was nice to hear your take on this!
