Aye my guy i hope u do everything legal bud cause if u run into a guy like me and dont mention something important like its a flood u better charge ur running battery😂
I'd drive it a little then replace the fluids again. After cleaning electrical contacts, I'd definitely put Dielectric Contact Grease on the connectors, they'll corrode/short quickly without it. Putting a generous amount of Lucas Fuel treatment in every tank full of gas will help lubricate the fuel system and upper cylinders. Dealt with more than a few flooded 4x4's!
Hello my name is George and i've enjoyed watching your videos on your 2010 camaro Texas flood car. Now I have a project that's similar to yours. I purchased from COPART a flood car from Alabama. It too is a 2010 camaro LT with the v6 engine and automatic transmission. I'm in need of some help and/or advice and I hope you'll be able to help me. I"ve been dehumidifying for about a week now and I"ve got most of the water out but here's whats going on. When I hook up power to the battery the hazards keep flashing and both windows are rolled down. Behind the wheel all I can get power to is the gauges located by the console. The dash and radio are not lighting up. Also when I turn to the key to the on position and hit the brakes i'm unable to shift from park. So these are the problems i'''m experiencing so far. Hope you have some ideas. Thank you for your time George
Hi George, glad you like the channel. Start by disconnecting the battery, ECU and BCM and check for water damage. After confirming that the units are working turn to every harness in the car. Disconnect each one and check for terminal corrosion and clean thoroughly with contact cleaner or replace connectors if they are too far corroded. After all electronics are addressed make sure to drain and change ALL fluids in the vehicle. Also before cranking for the first time remove all sparkplugs and fuel pump fuse as you want to just turn the motor over and see if any water comes out. Failure to do this may/will hydrolock the motor if there is still water in it. Good luck with your rebuild!
Thanks for the reply and info. Im gonna replace the ecm and bcm and be done with it as far as the electronics are concerned. right now my engine is locked up so i'm guessing it became hydrolocked so i'm gonna have to take my time with that. I believe I can free it up.
My shop repairs flood çars, you should replace pcm and bcm at least before you sell this. They will fail shortly from the water. Relays and other controls can be replaced as needed. Also flush trans and diff. Good luck !
Thanks! Another engine oil flush, TR6060 and differential fluid change are up next. BCM was taken apart and had zero water intrusion (water line was just underneath). PCM in theory should be ok due to the gaskets but I will still pull it and investigate. Thanks for the tip.
This car would have been classed a Statutory Writeoff in Australia never to be registered in any state or territory. It would only be allowed to be parted out. Should send them to the U.S. to be put back on the road.
State Farm over here (Insurance Company) seems to tag alot of cars as 'Certificate of Destruction' which is the same deal, only able to be parts only. Which is a shame because I've seen alot of cars that could easily be brought back to life but get parted instead. Circle of life, one driveline into another car to keep it going ;)
Clorox Bleach: I can live without guns as I don't really know why anyone would need one other than country folk to kill game for food & Police Officers for protection against criminals although they are currently using tazers with great results & no-one has to die.
koolkar55 some people are like yourself and don’t feel the want or desire to own a firearm and that’s all cool. But for a country to tell you you can no longer enjoy your favorite pastime (shooting. Some do it just for fun. Others for competition. I shot competition) that’s not right. I love Australia as I can’t seem to stay stay off Qantas flights and my passport looks like I’m high profile Jade smuggler. But some of y’all’s laws are for the birds. As for the criminals using tasers if I remember correctly and y’all are like Canada and tasers are prohibited also. So either way it’s breaking the law owning a gun or taser that is. Now +1 for the criminals on picking the less lethal out of the 2 as death is only a option for that guy that kicks in your back door at 3:30 am which at that point (GOD BLESS THE US 🇺🇸) I’ll take my Rock River AR-15. Also y’all don’t have FULL size pickups and it makes me incredibly homesick being there as a diehard Texan. I see MAYBE 1 and it’s always a Ford F-250 5.4 V8 gas. It’s kinda nuts because you used to be able to buy dynamite in beautiful Australia 🇦🇺 back in the day and now it’s one of the most restricted things in Australia. Now again you probably wouldn’t want to buy dynamite. But hell your in the outback and ran out things to do. What’s fun? Blow some shit up! Can’t anymore. And that is another sad but brutally honest reasons I can’t move to Australia or I would. From the midnight Coober Pedy stars to the beaches of Manly and Avalon the amazing natural beauty is overwhelming. BUT THE LAWS! And a VERY FEW of y’alls people need to wander off for a “walkabout” at about 1am in the morning. (Because of y’alls 9 snakes y’all have that are on the top 10 deadliest snake in the world list)
By your opinion, is it worth buying a flooded camaro? And beside how much you spent buying the car, how much did you spend trying to get it to run again?
Im planing on bidding on a 19 bullitt water level was kinda high halfways up the door car dosnt start at all dash dosnt turn on how much would u recommend me bidding on it ? Should I even attempt to buy? Lol
Dude I’d so love to get my hands on something nice like this for a low low price that’s been flooded and no one wants to fool with it, and just fix it myself and get a salvage title. Still be nicer and newer than anything I’ve got.
Just do your research and check out the car in person if possible. Tons of resources on UA-cam walking you through the processes. Samcrac covers ALOT of details on the copart process.
It needs to be inspected after the repairs, they will go over all the documentation you provide and verify the repairs have been completed and then issue you a rebuilt title. You can then keep the car or sell it as a rebuilt vehicle.
How can you legally drive and register these flooded cars that have had their titles branded? Do you have to get the title rebuilt and inspected by a state inspector?
So once you get it retitled in your name as a branded title flood vehicle you begin to repair the vehicle. As you go, retain all your receipts for replacement parts, document all the repairs done and make sure everything is 100% functioning. You then apply for a temporary tag so the vehicle can be driven, then take it to a county DMV inspection office. They will review all the repairs performed, inspect the vehicle, pull any pending/historic codes from the vehicle and if they deem the repairs sufficient will then issue you a rebuilt title for the vehicle showing that any branded problems have been repaired and it can safely operate on the roads.
That price seems decent for a C7 GS but I'd hold off unless you can inspect the car in person and know exactly what you're getting yourself into. How high is the water line?
Video #3 (ua-cam.com/video/dBsCgRRtynA/v-deo.html) has a full cost break down up until the time of the video being made. The winning bid for the car was $7,000. When the project is wrapped up I'll be posting a new video with the final tally for everything that went into the Camaro.
Crank hours lol. Good job tho. I fixed my truck after the flood and know the some of the struggles you went thru to get that back on the road. No water in engine but lots in my transmission
Only real way to know is to drain the tank. If you're fortunate enough to have a tank with a drain at the bottom you can easily dump it. Most modern plastic tanks do not have this provision and need to be dropped or have the filler neck tube removed and siphoned that way. Older cars do not have anti-siphonig filler necks so you can pull from there. I took the stance that with the water line where it was and the fact that the tank was a 1/4 full I would just go ahead and add a water encapsulation agent that would allow any water in the tank to be burnable.
ND Mac water line was just under the dash, missed out saturating the BCM by a hair lol. I've been drying the car with a dehumidifier and I've probably pulled put 2 gallons of water that way. Once my garage is up I'll plan on stripping everything below the dash for a final dry and shampoo/deep clean the carpet before reinstalling.
I did not use a broker. You still have to pay a Copart buyer fee so not sure if you save more doing it solo vs a broker. As for being a good idea that's going to be based on your technical skills and how much risk you're able to take on the venture. If it winds up being a mess of a car the only way to recoup your funds/make any profit would be to part it out and not everyone has the room to do that.
Ive known about copart for a whiel but never bothered registering till recently. They ask for a copy of your driver's license over the phone app. Is this legit? Also great find!!
It's legit, that's how they issue you a license to bid and confirm what state you're in since state to state purchase abilities vary. You can have money in your account/buying power but without that confirmation you can't bid on anything.
Irving Sylva no broker from texas to fl salvage. Copart has a full page on the site that outlines your state and your purchasing power as an individual. Certain titles require certain licenses and it varies from the state your buying from.
adam forbes once my larger garage is built I'll be stripping the entire interior and going through the harness. Hopefully won't find some sort of new life
Belinda Connelly score! Weather in FL hasn't been behaving so haven't been able to work on it much. Have part of the passenger side seat apart and ready to remove and troubleshoot
Matt YAHU it was $1500 total including the fees.I won the auction for $850 with the fees it was $1493.86....My first car I bought from copart was a2012 Chevy Sonic ltz turbo and won it for $1430 with fees it was $2005 .The fees typically are based in a scale depending on how much you win it for .The higher the bid the higher the fees but well worth it.I got 2 nice cars on the cheap. my third is going to be a Challenger.Hope this helps Matt.
Their are losts of vehicles like that one the insurance companies totals that is still good . I would do paper work and put it back on the road to. You got money maker vehicle.
Yep, and it's a shame alot of these vehicles are geting written off and scrapped out when they could be brought back to life. State Farm is notorious for not only totaling them out but branding them as non-repairable. I'd rather have another LS vehicle on the road any day ;)
Project FD very true all the insurance companies do it though and get away with it. Just do like the insurance company does take it out of state and get aclean title its illegal as long as you tell the person it was a flood car
Project FD me eather but this has been going before my time. Half of the used vehicles out there are flood vehicles, just like homicide vehicles people got shot in vehicles died vehicles, all kinds of blood .people fix them up to sell its the same thing. Sam crack lives in Florida he bought a flood car to he's on UA-cam
Buy yourself one of these amzn.to/2jIqnu2 it will show you how many cold cranking amps you actually have. I just did a video about changing my 11 year old Lexus OEM car battery and in the video you'll see how it works. ua-cam.com/users/edit?o=U&video_id=UoAxYnZr3H4 I've seen this a million times because my Mustang I only drive in the summer and went through a bunch of batteries. I have a bunch of trickle chargers and a multimeter. However, a multi-meter doesn't test cold cranking amps.
Luke is that you I can tell you get you’re breathing from you’re father lol. Just kidding bud how much did you pay for it and where’d you get it from? Were you nervous about buying a flood car? I’m thinking about buying a flood car myself a mustang. Kinda nervous though as I dunno how to tell by pics if it’s worth buying. Any advice on you’re end?
Robert, Check out the 3rd video in the series where we go over the total cost of the project so far. The car was purchased via Copart online auctions. It was a little nerve racking but luckly it panned out and I have a running car vs a parts car with alot of mold lol. Only advise I have for auctions is do your research, google the VIN and make sure it hasn't been totaled/rebuilt/staged previously so you know what you're getting yourself into. Also if you can go to the auction in person and checkout the car you're bidding on is always the best.
What. Cranking amps has nothing to do with wiggling a plug wire. You could pull a plug wire off and it still start with a good battery just miss one cylinder. No troll just saying if you don't know don't pretend
Randy Prevette I've bought used cars thast smelled worse. I still run a dehumidifier ever few days and I have an ozone generator coming that should finish off any musty smell that's left. Going to also clean out the a.c. system
lost94133 then don't buy it. Car has been running great and will be registered in the next few weeks. Watch the rest of the videos in the series to see the progress on the build. Any and all issues have been addressed.
The wiring is going to be eaten up by the water intrusion. That’s why the SS was written off as a total loss by the insurance company. Unless you’re a rich man, and can afford to buy all affected modules, and wiring; that car isn’t worth putting a dime into.
Good job on watching all the videos. Car is perfect and has over 2k road miles without issue. This type of misinformation keeps these types of cars in junkyards instead of on the road.
Personally i think a law should be passed that requires the insurance company to destroy any vehicle that is totaled out due to flooding. Too much liability and concern for the safety of the next owner. Electrical failures, seat belt and air bag failures, mold, etc..
Have any data to back that up, or just a personal stance? I'll give you that there are probably plenty of Joe Blows that half-ass repair salvage title vehicles and somehow manage to get them past inspection. Then the onus is on the person buying the car to know what to look for. But at the same time there are plenty of enthusiasts and shops that properly restore vehicles that will last many more years instead of being reduced to scrap/parts. I'd personally rather see more sports cars on the road being driven instead of recycled over minor issues.
Any vehicle in water well above the wheels, and definitely submerged vehicles, should very likely be scrapped. Automakers and insurers work hard to get these vehicles off the road for full scrappage at junk yards
New video is up for those interested!
Project FD how much?

moonlighter6 good tips, pretty much the plan once it's road worthy and I can put a few miles on it
moonlighter6 bro can you get me something like that and fix it for me and I will pay?
I cheered out loud when it started! congrats man!
Mathew Jones thanks! More bugs and things to fix but it's coming along
How about turning your phone camera sideways?? Much better picture
Stacey Frank it was caused by Facebook live, next videos won't be the same way

what about the front wheel bearings-did you repack them
The wheel bearings are sealed units. No need to service unless they have play or noises.
I live in wi and see a lot of illinois boat trailers without their hubs on, on the side of the road
michael novish 👍👍👍👍👍

koolkar55 Australia is beautiful but not perfect. No guns either because of ONE CRAZY NUT in 1997

Ive seen people buy all the electrical cheap as hell of rockauto and amazon buying everything online and slowly replacing the electronics.
How do I make sure that the salvage title M3 I’m thinking about buying isn’t going to be a total head ache
How much would this go for anything with a ls engine here in australia that can never go back on road is around 3 to5k
Did you clean out the tank?
So if y p.k u completely repair a salvage vehicle how can you get it to where you can register it and sell it?
It needs to be inspected after the repairs, they will go over all the documentation you provide and verify the repairs have been completed and then issue you a rebuilt title. You can then keep the car or sell it as a rebuilt vehicle.
What about the differential and rear end? Both have vents that would let water in
jon doe yep just got a new bottle of 75w-90 w/ LSD additive. Going to drain and replace along with the TR6060
with a flood car , it is good practice to change out the floor carpeting, and underlay, all fluids"as well as the battery !

I'm looking at buying a 2017 Corvette Grand Sport from the auction that has a flood title do you recommend buying it prices $24,000
That price seems decent for a C7 GS but I'd hold off unless you can inspect the car in person and know exactly what you're getting yourself into. How high is the water line?
Hope u changed the alternator, usually they start to whineor grind later after under water.
I'm looking for some more floor vehicles
I am curious to know what the winning bid was on this.
Winning bid was $7,400. New video will go over cost to date on the project.
How much did the car cost?
Video #3 (ua-cam.com/video/dBsCgRRtynA/v-deo.html) has a full cost break down up until the time of the video being made. The winning bid for the car was $7,000.
When the project is wrapped up I'll be posting a new video with the final tally for everything that went into the Camaro.
@@Projectfd Thanks for the info! 👍🏽
what has a car started where did you find it at I was interested in by one
Edward Gales good place to start is copart.com and start by reading all the requirements and the state based regulations for bidding
Is it worth it to get a freshman water damaged car
Crank hours lol. Good job tho. I fixed my truck after the flood and know the some of the struggles you went thru to get that back on the road. No water in engine but lots in my transmission
what if the fuel had water?? How would you know if it has water?
Only real way to know is to drain the tank. If you're fortunate enough to have a tank with a drain at the bottom you can easily dump it. Most modern plastic tanks do not have this provision and need to be dropped or have the filler neck tube removed and siphoned that way. Older cars do not have anti-siphonig filler necks so you can pull from there.
I took the stance that with the water line where it was and the fact that the tank was a 1/4 full I would just go ahead and add a water encapsulation agent that would allow any water in the tank to be burnable.
How high did the water get in the car? Did you remove the interior to dry it out? It appears to be nice buy. Good luck with it.
Hi I'm interested in buying the SS for $2.00 right now
gerard money bags over here
Project FD I must say you have lots of guts to purchase something knowing that is not going to the last within 4 years I hear your boos
I'm full of guts
Project FD how much did you have to pay for the car?
How much for the car?
How much did you pay for it?
All that is outlined in later vids along with repair breakdowns
Whats the number to these salvage car lot so i can wrk on mine
Austin Harrison copart.com?
Project FD for a full car....
Yes, they sell all condition cars
How much did you pay for it on coparts?
if you could not super over exaggerate an EHHH after every fucking word that would be greatEHHHH SUPEREHHHHH GREATEHHHHHHHHH
I'll make more of an eHHHHHfort.
That's awesome, how much did you get the car for and where from ??
Is co part out there ?
Fernando Lopez car was purchased from a copart in Texas for $7,400 plus fees and shipping
what tools did you all need to fix this?
A bunch, fix what in particular?
Bought it from Houston?
Yep out of the Houston Copart location.
Project FD I want to buy a 17 charger from there since they have so many flooded cars. Would it be a good idea?
Project FD also did you use a broker?
I did not use a broker. You still have to pay a Copart buyer fee so not sure if you save more doing it solo vs a broker. As for being a good idea that's going to be based on your technical skills and how much risk you're able to take on the venture. If it winds up being a mess of a car the only way to recoup your funds/make any profit would be to part it out and not everyone has the room to do that.
Project FD how much were the extra fees if you don't mind me asking
So you replaced everything except the battery?
Rover Ron literally everything but the battery...
Project FD ok awesome thankyou, that makes sense
That was painful to watch.. but kinda funny
Facebook live videos without the other side of the conversation don't translate well to UA-cam. The irony is this is my highest viewed video 😂
Did you really pay $7000 for it if you don't mine me asking?
Winning bid, there are still fees and taxes. Check out the later vids where I go over all that
Can you please do an Update video of the car? Start up, Maybe drive it around for a while, or any problems youve encountered. Thank You!
Sepi Flame will do!
Project FD Thanks man! Just finished watching the video! Loved it! Keep it up man
Sepi Flame we
Did you need a broker or a license to purchase?
Irving Sylva no broker from texas to fl salvage. Copart has a full page on the site that outlines your state and your purchasing power as an individual. Certain titles require certain licenses and it varies from the state your buying from.
Project FD Thanks...
Sigh count: 1,500,000
1,500,001
Usually the wiring under the carpet ect will eventually still rot and mold out even after all that.
adam forbes once my larger garage is built I'll be stripping the entire interior and going through the harness. Hopefully won't find some sort of new life
Project FD sweet...i have the 2014 version of that car...same color. U see the ZL1s on Copart...usually already gutted or stolen repairables?
adam forbes nice! Yeah I think I'm going to shoot for a ZL1 next, if nothing more than for the driveline
Project FD I'd probably buy the trunklid/spoiler, front clip and wheels n tires off it. At least the wheels n tires. And any other cool zl1 stuff.
What was the original price
cali west $7k
joseph migliore not bad u ever get any maserati"s?Bentley gt coupes?
cali west It's not my car. It belongs to the poster of the video.
Was it a non repairable title ?
Charley H Salvage - Flood, which is able to get a rebuilt title
Thanks for the replied
how much are you going to ask for it?
Jorge Santana it won't be listed until everything is fixed and the ZL1 front clip is on, but aiming for 14-15k with a 90 day warranty
Don’t do it. Flood vehicles always have major electrical issues a year or two down the road. It takes time for the corrosion to set in.
Dan & Keira Norman and what experience do you have with this?
Project FD no need for experience just common knowledge , you’ll be lucky to get 3k out of it
15k😂😂😂 wow that's retail on a used non flooded car
Well I bought me 2nd car today from Austin Copart.A 2008 Mustang for $1500 .A really great buy again.Hows ur Camaro?
Belinda Connelly score! Weather in FL hasn't been behaving so haven't been able to work on it much. Have part of the passenger side seat apart and ready to remove and troubleshoot

In FL I'm allowed to repair and retitle it as a repaired vehicle. Not a fan of title washing.
No doubt, but I'll be on the side of full disclosure on my sales. Looking to start this up as a side gig along with restoration/custom builds.
Bro can you get me something like this and fix it for me?
We are still waiting for our building to be built before we start taking customer projects on.
Project FD okay but can you just do it for me now like a friend to friend stuff.?
How much did you pay for the Camaro?
Scott K $7,400 then copart fees and shipping. The next video i upload will cover costs to date
Project FD that’s a pretty good deal. Wish I knew how to recover a flood car. I would definitely do this
Surprised the starter isn't toast.
Jimmy Grant had the same thought. I may still take it apart and service it so it doesn't decide to seize up in the future
Dude your using a trickle charger to try to jump a battery?
Jennine Session nope it's a Lipo based jump box. Works great usually but the battery was too far gone
Buy yourself one of these amzn.to/2jIqnu2 it will show you how many cold cranking amps you actually have. I just did a video about changing my 11 year old Lexus OEM car battery and in the video you'll see how it works. ua-cam.com/users/edit?o=U&video_id=UoAxYnZr3H4
I've seen this a million times because my Mustang I only drive in the summer and went through a bunch of batteries.
Hope you flush the transmission cause I'm sure water is in that too
Al Mackie check the newest video, transmission and differential were both flushed. Thanks for the tip.
Man I would kill for that car
Broly Assasin what do you mean ?
dpats54 never mind lol
Ls3 power!
Correction its a 2016 Corvette ZO6 Texas flooded car for $24,000
Price is is right, how high was the water line? Any chance of inspecting it in person?
Craigslist ad: 2010 SS Camaro. In Excellent condition. Must see to appreciate.
Wiggling the plug wires when the battery obviously sounds weak. No correlation between the two.
Hooptie Rides&Reviews when your trolling people on Facebook live it does.
What. Cranking amps has nothing to do with wiggling a plug wire. You could pull a plug wire off and it still start with a good battery just miss one cylinder. No troll just saying if you don't know don't pretend

How does interior smell.nice car bro!
Randy Prevette I've bought used cars thast smelled worse. I still run a dehumidifier ever few days and I have an ozone generator coming that should finish off any musty smell that's left. Going to also clean out the a.c. system

Why the small slice picture. Widen out the shot
Fred Smoot it was from Facebook live. None of the new videos are vertical.
I swear you exhale more than you inhale.
I make a terribly inefficient engine
Saw a vid recently, and a guy had that issue. His ECM was missing
Samcrac's ECM on the Grand Sport was completely missing. This was just a case of a bad battery ;)
What you got asthma geese
Luis diaz Asthma geese are prevalent this time of year.
Y keep taking the key out rather the battery is dead or the po st lis lose
The clutch is probably like wet cardboard.
Brian Smith car drives fine but I'm sure it's worth investigating before it gets on the road
Also use 44k furl and oil additives and royal purple oil.
I threw in some HEET just in case water got in the tank along with seafoam. I''ll run another Seafoam tank after this one is done (Roughly 1/4 left)
Project FD cool.its a nice car.i have bought 1 car so far from copart for my personal use.i should have done this sooner lol.good luck with it.
Thanks! So far so good with this Copart purchase, hopefully it pans out to being a profitable venture.
I'm about to buy my second car for my wife.Ill make a video to show what Im getting.(Challenger rt)
Nice! Good luck!
My lawn mower got a bigger battery
Try a proper jump back next time.
Battery had no hope of getting jumped by a portable. It has been sent off to the great battery scrapyard in the sky.
Who’s going to save a Toyota Camry lol
rick hunter I mean, are they worth saving?
Sexy Vegan touche'. There's a car for every driver
I'm sure the price point is good, but then again I see alot of those commuter type cars get heavily bid on and most of the time sent out of country
Breathing hard bro
Thats the best kind of vehice is a blood one
Jamie Collins Blood? Where do you find those?
joseph migliore copart
New York and LA is where U find those blood cars
You got lucky always pull out spark plugs engine could have been hydro locked crank engine with out plugs you could have locked up engine
Al Stasko did you watch the video? That was literally the first thing we did.
This car will not last
Selling this junk to someone else is bad karma but that's on you
lost94133 then don't buy it. Car has been running great and will be registered in the next few weeks. Watch the rest of the videos in the series to see the progress on the build. Any and all issues have been addressed.
Clutch I mean
Some people still don’t know how to use a camera phone. Landscape dude.
It was Facebook live, dude. That's the only way you can read comments and reply.
Check out the real build videos for glorious landscape.
Get a new battery
Howard Dixon battery has been replaced
I'd personally rather see more sports cars on the road being driven instead of recycled over minor issues.
buyer beware car fax if youre that woried about it we have enough laws
Any vehicle in water well above the wheels, and definitely submerged vehicles, should very likely be scrapped. Automakers and insurers work hard to get these vehicles off the road for full scrappage at junk yards
Car has been road legal for 3 months with zero issues.
7000 racks
Luke ford 7 racks not 7000 racks
first thing ...take off the coils and spark plugs ...drain oil and trans oil....
And don’t forget to subscribe for more of that voice....
The voice of an asphyxiated angel
i thought every texas flood car had to parted out
Gascan5 nope, it's at the discretion of the insurance company
i am how much
Jason Price how much for what?
Jokes
How Long is a Chinese name.
