The left hand ✋ is always stubborn.

You are my favorite teacher. Even though I have played for 15 years, I learn new things. I mostly taught myself to play by ear. I love it when you cover the basics. You are so joyful too. Joy seems rare today. Thanks for your knowledge and joy. God bless you.
im 14 and started "learning" piano about a year ago, your tutorials really help
Very glad to help you!
Been playing for 8 years and my left hand literally sounds like I started playing yesterday 🤣
Same, and I've been playing for 9
@@taharyasmine5944 lol
Why is this so me????
@@hannahsansokun6278 😂
@@EjayT06 you must have play classical music right?!? Do u know the last part of Rondo Alla turca where the left hand are kinda fast!! I’m still struggling to play it till now😂😂
I dont know why I love her voice so much. It encourages me to keep learning. I call it a part of teacher's quality.
You’re a good teacher, thank you Lisa. God bless!
Great lesson again AND great camera work showing hand when its needed. All the best to everyone Lisa your the greatest so joyful too thanks
I'm a guitarist first but my passion for the piano has grown to rival the guitar; because of the passion of teachers like yourself!! It has motivated me to put my 10k hrs in on the instrument!!! Thank you!!🙏🙏🙏
As a left-handed person, this is kind of flipped around for me! I have less coordination in my right hand due to cerebral palsy, so that's my slower hand. And for ages, well before "proper" lessons, I played only with my left. Of course this also means that I have all the issues mentioned in this video, because it hasn't been long at all that I've been playing the traditional, two-handed way. I'm a chord newbie, especially. Those finger lifts...... my right 2-3-4s are gonna give me hell but I'll keep at it!!
Thanks for another fantastically useful video!!
This is really useful for a self learning beginner like me. More of such please. Thank you!
I've only been playing since Aug 2020, and although I have a fabulous teacher here in the UK, since lockdown I've not been able to have lessons, thank god I've found you, you've given me so many hints and tips, I'm beginning to feel my confidence return
This is so important! LH does get behind. Some of my students don’t like to practice the LH by itself because it usually doesn’t have the melody.
Thank you, Lisa for your wonderful tutorials. My left hand is definitely slower, but I've been following your excercises to improve my left hand. They've been very helpful! God bless you!
Always so refreshing seeing even a pro messing up some stuff, even if its just the tiniest things. It makes us begininers feel like our goals are not as impossible as they seem if we put in the work.
So thanks for the videos and for the tips, now time to go practice ! :D
Thank u so so much !! You are the perfect piano teacher ever. I really wish I had you as my actual physical teacher !!
Great lesson! You explained things nice and simple in a fun way and I appreciate that.
Also I love the word "De-Stupefy" I can use it for so many people and even myself. Thanks
Thank you. Super simple, easy to follow steps to improve the left hand. Have a great weekend and stay safe n healthy 😀
Right back at you! :)
That was so awesome! Thank you for another great video, Lisa!
I was fortunate to have a superb piano teacher. He had me (from the very beginning) practice all technical work on at 3 to 1 ratio. The left hand always worked more.
Thanks Lisa, that is a great little drill to work on xxx
Thanks Lisa, you're the best piano teacher ever!
Thank you for your videos! I am a piano teacher and I always watch your videos for ideas!
Wonderful! Thank you for the lesson and your energy.
Madam. Thanks a lot .Your piano lessons are very very encouraging, specialy for me as I am very poor in using my left hand even though I have been playing the lead part of songs in my right hand in harmonium. Expecting more & more such lessons from you. Thanks once again!.You are a great piano teacher!!!
Thank you!!!❤️
LH is certainly a struggle and even harder when playing with both so your videos are really helpful. Thank you.
Hello teacher:
My name is Carlos Alberto, I'm Portuguese and I'm 68 years old.
I am passionate about music, I played bass guitar and now I am dedicating myself to the study of the Piano. I have followed your videos that help me a lot in the development of my fingers and hands. I like the way he exposes his classes, he is very friendly. Thank you so much for the dedication and the videos, God bless you.

I’m just getting started to learn how to play my keyboard and yes this video tip is going to help. You have a great way of putting concepts out that anyone can understand.
Thank you Mam. Very useful lesson to co-ordinate left Hand.
Kudos, madame, excellent presentation (once again).
You are fantastic
Thanks for this
Love this Stecato Legato exercise
This video is just what I needed and I guess I also asked for this video in one of your live streams. Anyways, thanks.❤️
You are very welcome--- glad to help!! :)
Very good exercise 👍
Thank you for this video
I started learning to play piano 2 weeks ago. With all thats going on in the world right now, im unable to get a teacher. This channel and especially this teacher has made thighs so simple to understand. What a fantastic teacher. It's a true gift you have. Thankyou so much.
I just love it.. no matter what ...
Very helpful. Great teaching style! Thanks.
Thanks for this lesson!👍🏼😃😃
First of all, I want to thank you and your staff for all the work you have put in to provide these helpful videos...Thank you.
I just bought my first keyboard so I really did just start my adventure. My left hand and I were introduced for the first time last night when I unboxed and set up, then tried to do something, anything musical. After I found middle C (who knew it was right there?) I placed my hands on the keys and made a noise an annoying kind of noise.
Long story short, I found your UA-cam channel. now I'm actually playing scales and now and again I manage a chord.
Destupifing my left hand will be easier to do thanks to you.
Great stuff! Thank you!
Thanks for the video!!!
I would like to add that I find that doing scales or Hannon exercises really helps improve flexibility in both of my hands. :)
Awesome!!!
well well well 👏 after searching so many channels on youtube i found you and it feels great because my patience gave me sweet and adorable fruit 😄 and i m definitely going to brush my teeth with my left hand now..
Nice simple tutorial. Thank you 👍
Thank you for this lesson.👍👍👌
Thank you
So very helpful!!
Superb exercise mam, thank you so much.., nice explaining.
Very helpful thank you
I had n ischemic stroke in June leaving me with left side weakness, I am taking Piano to improve fine motor and hopefully the practice exercises will spur my brain to reroute for short term memory issues I am having!
This is just what I need, thanks
Thanks a lot
Why on earth are you so cute positive with a ton of emotions : D I am impressed by this alone not mentioning good advices and lessons
Wow, this is amazing. I thought I was alone. Thanks a mill for this gem💎
I love your videos!🥰♥
I recently purchased this course, glad I did, been playing organs and electronic keyboards for more than 25 years, but never piano,so my left hand had become rather lazy, time to wake it up and make it share the workload, can be a bit of a learning curve at first for people as myself, but perseverance and having Lisa motivating and demonstrating,I'm more confident now,and am going to enjoy the journey.
This is awesome. Please make a series of videos on left hand strengthening
Thanx Amazing
you are my favourite piano teacher in youtube! I love you!
I like this lesson especially honey on the keys tip and finger lifts.
🍯🤚🍯🤚🍯🤚🍯🤚
Love the "use your non-dominant hand' for everyday tasks.
It all leads to more myelin being laid down on the fine-motor nerve pathways!
Thank you mam❤️
I like how happy she is.
Thank you for another great energetic, fun and pedagogical video Lisa! When I set out to really learn how to play the piano (not too long ago)...I have begun to understand that I might have a bit of advantage with the left hand (otoh. I'm old.. :p ).I played the Guitar on and off for 20 years (left hand does all of the cool stuff), and I'm kind of semi-ambidextrous (started out as a leftie and turned into a rightie for many tasks..). Why didn't I think of this, and why didn't I give the piano more attention until recently. :D
I love this channel so much ❤
Madam, this is Sumit. From Bahgladesh.Your videos are awesome. From which I have learned a lot. God bless you.
super!
I switch to using the computer muse with my left hand.very helpful!
Thanks for sharing this helpful video. I’m also interested in learning left hand accompaniment patterns.

Excellent............
Kool lesson.
I love pianote 😍😍
I had one piano teacher who taught modern piano and jazz, rather than classical piano. We did several Hanon and Czerny exercises occasionally. "Often, the left hand kind of trundles along," he commented while we played Hanon exercise number one. This is an illuminating description that recognizes the plight of the poor left hand, so used to playing accompaniment or taking its cue from the right, which trails along when called upon to play simultaneous passages. "Trundle," which my Webster's dictionary defines as 'roll along,' is a word that is commonly used here south of the Canadian border, at least in a previous generation. To wit, I agree with the general point and demeanor of you post and thank you for the help :-)
need this
Thank u for this.. Please do another song.. A song like someone like you.
Very nice
I injured my wrists... so i’m watching a ton of these videos to still learn even if i cant practice! keep it up!!!!
I can't believe my left hand is becoming smarter❤🙏
🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠
Exactly 😂😂😂
Great News For me... Thanks Ma'am.
Being a Lefty, I have the opposite problem. It's my right hand that seems to be struggling with the melodies. Thanks for the tutorials on identifying the brain/or mental error we encounter when learning to play the piano. What mystifies me is... how my right hand seems the (2-Octaves in C) without much trouble, and my left hand requires extra attention to get them right. And I am yet to try even (1- Octave in C) with both hands in unison. The ( 1, 2, 5 - Claw) works on the left hand, but the right hand always wants to do a ( 1, 2, 4 - Claw), or else the pinky lags behind hitting the note to its right. I have to almost stand guard over dadburn right pinky.
Greetings from Turkey. Thanks for video
Love u alot mam for helping us soo much. Love from india❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you very much for very generic fundamental tutorial on hands dynamics on piano...great and excellent.
Left hand has been a huge hurdle for me starting out. any help is very useful thank you
We've got another coming up next Friday too! :)
I like playing the right hand part ( G clef) of "Minuet in G major" with my left hand. The second half of the Minuet really gives the left hand a good workout. It's also a challenge to play the entire G clef part with both hands at once.
Hello! Godfrey from Nigeria. This is very useful. I am certain it will improve my left hand
Good news and good luck!!
It works!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Just practice!!!!
I wish that you were our school piano teacher🥺👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽 your tips are amazing
Really helpful video for me
Big fan of u
Love from india
thankyou
Welcome!
Any tips you have for improving/practicing tremolo would be greatly appreciated! :)
My left hand is definitely a middle child.
I've been dealing with this. I decided to practice piano after discovering your channel and I most definitely struggle with my left hand haha
Hello. I will try that.
Like every video you make I watch and learn
Exactly why we do it! :)
I taught a piano lesson before, and my student asked me, “Why is my left hand so much worse? It’s so hard to play!” And so I told her to just play something in her lefts hand but then she said that it was getting boring just playing scales. So I told her to do Chords in her left hand. It was fun for a while, because we played some songs, but then it got boring for her too. So an exercise that I made her do was to basically become a fake you tuber in her mind, and then kinda make her right hand the you tuber, and tell the right hand to basically switch lives with the left hand. And so I told her to play All of me ( Chord Version ) because it was the song she had been practicing for her big performance the next week, and so I told her since she was comfortable playing that song, that she should play the root note with her RIGHT hand, and the main chord with the left. She was actually struggling so much and I told her that would be her homework. For the next 7 days, she had to practice that, and I said she could do a song she was comfortable with, because if she wasn’t then she’d need to learn it and practice it. So I said “Stick with All of me for now”. So the next week, I saw her and I asked her to play it, and she did it perfectly. Her left hand was fixed so much more. After discovering this channel, (She’s about half a year older now, but she hasn’t quit piano ❤️) I told her all the exercises you did, and she’s able to play left hand beautifully. Thank you ❤️
I love you ❤️
I've been following your tips on how to gain hand independence for a few months now and they're really doing the trick. Thank you so much for the help. What's really bugging me now is how to read both lines of music at the same time. I can play the right hand okay and I can play the left hand okay, but when I come to do both at the same time I can't see both lines at the same time. Do you have any advice on how to do this please?
hello from Malaysia !!
