Cheers! Yeah I think we got pretty lucky with the weather. Will have to go back one day for sure! Hopefully tick off some more summits next time (Geryon, etc).

Great Video, it's the exact trip I'm planning. A lot of notes about water Between Mt Massif and Falling Mt. Also some note of which is the best route to take via Big gun pass and up into Massif.
Seems coming off Falling to OL track is hit and miss.

Cheers, it’s an awesome hike. Navigation wasn’t too difficult as the entire route was cairned, expect for falling to OLT. Top steep rocky section is cairned followed by an hour of annoying scrub bash with no defined trail.
The last water tarn is on the saddle just prior to the climb up falling mountain.
When you descend off massif, once you hit the grassy slope, don’t follow the cairns up on top of the ridge and instead it’s recommended that you follow that grassy slope steeply down; and traverse lower as it skips the gnarly Boulder section that Chapman’s guide describes.

@@AaronGrayOutdoors Thanks Aaron. The boulders sort of remind me of Mt Anne, rock Cairns all the way.
I didn't see much information on JC's latest book, I guess he removed it. A lot of discussion on the Big gun pass and then ascending Falling Mt.
Will have to fill a 1 ltr reserve after that section you describe for dinner and breakfast.

Hey Aaron..I gotta ask...I did this about 2 weeks ago now.....Now from falling mountain down for maybe half hour was OK...there was cairns marked on the way down. Never moved til I saw the next cairn..........then nothing......bushbashed the rest.....sort of got on a "track"...then lost it...more bush bash...I had a GPX file from "Bec" and crisss crossed that in hope I would find a track....no good! Did this happen to you? can I please have have the GPX that you recorded...i would love to compare to Becs...I didnt record as Becs was fairly accurate up til Falling mountain.Marty

Hey mate, yeah we had the same issue. Once we hit the scrub, we had a complete scrub bash for at least an hour until we hit the OLT - there is no track. I'm glad we came down Falling as we met some others whom did the traverse in the opposite direction and said it was a nightmare coming up. My watch ran out of battery coming down Falling, so only have half a GPX.

We did the traverse in April and had the exact same experience coming off Falling.
