Agreed, think the take on PJ was just wrong, PJ has been the best defender for the Mavs since the trade, Josh Green was missed during those last few minutes to defend Murray. DJJ could have been a choice, but think keeping Kleber in there to help defend against Jokic was a better call imo. Also if you see Murrays last shot, PJ Washington tripped getting to Murray, if he hadn't, I think the shot would of been tougher for Murray, fortunate that he still missed.
Ironically I think they kind of swung to the opposite end of the spectrum as last year where there’s lowkey no spacing for Luka and Kyrie because the roster is so focused on size and athleticism now. As much as we hate to see it as fans its why Kidd has been forcing THJ and Kleber minutes because they really need someone out there to stretch the floor besides LuKai, they both have just fucking sucked. Still in a much, much better spot than last year. Much better.

Here’s my guess who would guard who in a suns/mavs series. Luka guards Royce, whoever the center is guards nurkic, pj guards kd (he locked kd up the game right after the break) kyrie guards Beal (not the best but he’s improved on defense) and either djj or josh green guards book. I think the mavs match up with them well tbh. If they can get their shooters to start hitting shots again, they’ll be deadly because their ability to get in the paint since the trades is insane. And their defense since the trades has been so much better
PJ has been an above average/very good defender for Dallas. I generally trust him in on-ball situations against the top offensive players. That 3 ball has to start going down though.
Btw, Jamal shot 7/20. Just because he had a good stretch doesn’t mean he was lighting up pj the whole game. He was shooting really bad while pj guarded him. Then, he switched to mpj because he was hot and he cooled off

I'd assume they went Kleber, PJ, Lively to make life as difficult as possible for Jokic. To guard Murray, the ideal choice is Exum. On a starting lineup it would be him or Green getting Jamal.

I dunno for me to call it skill means its something he can do repeatably which I don't think he can. It was a lucky shot but skillfully done sort of. But this is not a skill shot that he goes to and can't be stopped. It was just a random throw at the bucket when he had nowhere else to go. If Kyrie starts hitting this with reasonable accuracy then I am wrong... but until then this was not skill. He is a skilled player obviously but a lucky shot that he never takes is not an example of his skill.
