Gonna snag one of these on Black Friday, hopefully there'll be a sale somewhere. Such a killer product. Would be great to see a compressor option in the future, even if it's only in the editor.
Another great video John. Thank you! Line 6 does a great job of making products for every type of player and budget! Patreon supporter here, yes, any PE Guitar presets you’ve created I would welcome checking out!
It think that for many people, a big feature of this thing, apart from affordability, is that the feature set is rich enough but limited. This is an excellent product now that the editor is included!
I love mine. I’ve got all kinds of gear and amps with great tone, but for headphone practice, this sounds so good. I can get a nice sustained tone with some grit.
Kudos to Line 6 once again. Their Modelers have good "bones". Providing well-designed Software Editors, allows Users to really "flesh" out the sounds they want to dial in. 👏
I travel a lot with a long stay... this is perfect to toss into a suitcase. I can always rent a guitar when I get there... but it's hard to rent something I can play into headphones while in a hotel room
Excellent! Now an editor for the HX One please (yes, I know we have the Librarian which is great but an editor would make it so much more powerful). Power to you, John!
I got one last week and the limitations had me thinking of returning it. Glad I hadn’t already done so as this fixes my only gripes. Thing sounds great even without this, but more tweakability is king.
Great to see they released an editor will give it a go again. Love to get access to your presets. The three in a row The Rock, Con Air & Face Off was peak Cage.
Mine went in a drawer...now it's going to come back out :) I guessed that they would just port it into HXedit with all the calls for editing capability when it was first released. But this dedicated editor with intuitive interface is very well thought out and a fitting companion to the "Express" name.
Considering the editor, I'm thinking buying this just for the value. Like live, without an amp, it seems like it'd be a solif all in one backup or just as part of a minimal board. Maybe with another drive and a delay and use this for the amp and cab models and reverb, and mod
I primarily use it as a headphone amp for practicing with my bass but this update actually made the modeling software useable. I did not realize until I hooked it up to the editor that the presets were more than just the amp simulator for the Pod Express bass. I basically just went in and removed the compressors/distortion and in some cases the cabs to the normal presets and they sound 100%. For the "Round" sound it sounded like hollow garbage with a B-15 Amp and 15 inch Ampeg Cab because it had compression on it that sucked the tone out of it. So just removing that made it sound like an actual close proximity of a B -15 set up.
The editor pushed me to buy one. Dirt simple to use. To *not* have one as a backup or headphone amp is crazy for the price. Quick gigs in town, that and a gig bag. Boom.
Pretty cool! Hopefully there's a chance of choosing a different drive pedal model like Timmy in the future. I was just wondering if this could make a good simple tuner+verb pedal for mandolin gigs...
Hello, do you think this is the better option for a small budget friendy multi effects for my Marshall Jubilee combo ? ( or should i go for ms 70 or 50 zoom ? ou plethora ? ) thank you very much !
+++ i like this new Editor it looks so much nicer than HX Edit..... hopefully they put some efford in HX edit and make it look more modern and clean+++
My favourite NC film is Face off.... This one now is a quite cool gadget with the editor. I am so used to a screen service (Native) the original set left me blind folded.
Great video 👍 Do you think they’ll add custom/third-party IR loading as a future update? They could cap it at 1-2 custom IR slots to still give the HX line a competitive edge I feel like IR loading is the only thing holding it back from being one of the best budget multi-fix units
Within a preset, can you map multiple effects to the switch at the same time? So that you can toggle mod/delay/verb on and off with a single action? Because then I only need one preset for most applications.
Oh wow I just got one it sounds great but was thinking I should’ve bought something with an editor because I wanted to tweak more. As a former HX Stomp owner cab and sag options alone have stopped me from returning it. Just couldn’t justify the price of the HX line consider my limited needs and use cases (personal fun and basic tone recording for TikTok). One thing I use it for that I didn’t know was possible when I ordered is direct audio recording with video on my iPhone. Just plug it in and take video - the audio will be what you play on the Pod Express. SO much easier than the audio render/video syncing process I was previously doing with my DAW and iPhone!
Glad you shared this! Was curious if this could as well do the thing of Tank-G by mvave which was straight to the camera of the phone recording through a type-c cable
Great job, John - much appreciated, mate. Yes Please - we would really like some Pod Express patches. and the best NC movie IMHO is Lord of War - cheers!
When you create custom presets within the editor, can they be called up when the unit is working as a stand alone pedal ? Meaning either plugged directly into amp or just using the pedal with headphones...? Or only via your computer calling up the editor and then finding your custom presets....?
My problem. I don’t own a Mac or PC device so I can’t update my PE so that I can use the editor in my Android phone or iOS iPad (which I do own). Would be nice if the editor app also updated your PE.
I'm just testing this now but I'm experiencing some static through my speakers, but only when the Pod 6 is plugged into the computer with the USB. I have the output running into my Steinberg audio interface which normally has no interference as I'm using balanced XLRs into my Yamaha HS8 speakers. It's literally the USB cable causing it somehow. Any ideas?
Talk about Bringing Out The Dead, this update certainly gives this L6 "toy" new life! Can you map controls so it could be used as a dedicated reverb and delay pedal with all the knobs controlling parameters of delay or reverb?
Might have to tape down the bottom two knobs now there’s an editor! Kept hitting them and messing with settings when I would use FS 1 and 2 as bypass for OD and delay fx.
Thanks for such upfront, transparent and interesting videos. There are so many posers like that Bald Shredder "dude" (50 year old LARPing a Wayne's World voice) that are just plain annoying, or just outright lying and have no actual informative content, just terrible pitches for Asia made knockoffs/clones.
I think I saw for each effect/amp block you can elect to turn it off??? The reason I’m asking is I play in a church setting. Lots of reverb/delay. Some dotted eighth as well as some spacious swells. Multiple gain stages. I currently use the POD Go which is almost perfect. The problem is DSP. Snapshots don’t always solve dsp issues. Can I use the POD express for a gain stage, and a killer swell while having the amp and cabs off and put the express into the effects loop of the POD GO. I think it will, maybe you could demonstrate how to do this in another video😂
: "Well, the editor is late. I already sold mine because it was an absolutely unusable device. I haven't had a multi-effects unit more difficult to handle than that one.
too bad they seem unwilling to listen about the preset changing back to the default settings when the pedal isn't in preset mode. basically since i want to use the footswitches and toggle my fx on or off in my presets i can't use preset mode really. spent a month talking to them and just kept getting the same idiotic answer that it's meant to behave that way... um i deleted the stock presets, why should this thing load a default that's been deleted. 🤷♂🤦♂ maybe you'll have better luck convincing them, about to contact frank ritchotte over it.
@@Michel-r6m Sorry I should have worded it better. I meant, I wish I hadn’t sold mine because the editor is just the thing that I needed to make it work for me.
Line 6 is awesome. They regularly update and increase the value of their products like no one else.
Looking forward to your POD Express presets!
Gonna snag one of these on Black Friday, hopefully there'll be a sale somewhere. Such a killer product. Would be great to see a compressor option in the future, even if it's only in the editor.
John no joke you are amazing. Thx for all the tips and tricks.

This is really bringing the Pod Express to the next level. Now I am really happy with this pedal.
It opens the whole door of what the pedal can actually do
It think that for many people, a big feature of this thing, apart from affordability, is that the feature set is rich enough but limited. This is an excellent product now that the editor is included!

Awesome! A wicked update! Btw I enjoyed starting with relevant talking rather than a jam intro straight away ❤
I also noticed maximizing the POD Express Edit app on Windows shows all the controls at once on one page without the sub pagination!
Bought one of these right before SXSW this past year to use as a battery powered rig! This editor seems super helpful!
It even works on iPads and Androids! 😮 Now I want a PodGo editor for the tablet!
that is great news. Now I want one.
This is exactly why Line 6 is at the top of the game
@8:12 .. what a line.. love your playing, mate.
Absolute GAME CHANGER!!!
yes definately interested in some of your tones on the express JC

Nice update. Was considering getting one of these, and now I’m impressed by the tones you’ve dialed in.

@@DeepFriedHallelujahsame here! The limitations I've thought of the product was just eliminated by the editor!
Gone in 60 seconds, yes share presets 😊
I do prefer the knobs over the sliders
Sliders are ergo knobs are stage friendly.

One minor correction - "Heavy" amp is the Line 6 Oblivion model.
Considering the editor, I'm thinking buying this just for the value. Like live, without an amp, it seems like it'd be a solif all in one backup or just as part of a minimal board. Maybe with another drive and a delay and use this for the amp and cab models and reverb, and mod
Surprised to see the High/Low cut filter on this, it's indeed one of the most important and neglected parameters for shaping sound.
Next update, IR loading capability please.
LINE6 never lets us down. Cheers to LINE6.
Great playing and review of the editor.
Ghost Rider says he wants this pedal now.

Nice! I probably would have mine if the editor was there at launch. Would have been a great backup rig and also ok for small events perhaps.
Right! I was on the verge of returning mine but this video changed that.
@@DeepFriedHallelujahAt the verge of returning does not convince me buying one...

They could cap it at 1-2 custom IR slots to still give the HX line a competitive edge
I feel like IR loading is the only thing holding it back from being one of the best budget multi-fix units
Ironically, I’d want this with IR loading due its application as an acoustic pedal; not for ownhammer IRs, etc
Within a preset, can you map multiple effects to the switch at the same time? So that you can toggle mod/delay/verb on and off with a single action? Because then I only need one preset for most applications.

Can't wait for 3rd party editors to bring more options
They have a bit of catching up to do, the TC tone print suite is excellent

That’s what I came here to ask as well. Fingers crossed!!!
