I've been running that exact plate carrier for the last 3 or 4 years. As long as firstspear is in business I will be purchasing all of my plate carriers from them. Top of the line all the way. I'm the one who got Hawaii Five-O start using first spear on mcgarrett
So you would recommend getting one? I never used a pc and thinking about getting one for HD, Shtf etc. basically a do all carrier where I might where for a extended amount of time.
My thoughts & hopes go out to you and your family my friend. That would be a hard pill to swallow. I pray that your family's life's will become free of this sickness that plagues America 🇺🇸 family's. Thank you for producing excellent content to feeds my firearm addiction.☠💀☠
7:00 I am running a retrofit tube system on my Crye JPC 2.0 cummerbund, and a UARM EVV ventilation system that velcro to the inside of the plate carrier directly facing my chest & back. When I am wearing my edc Citizen armor IIIa vest as a base layer I remove the EVV ventilation system to allow for the ballistic vest thickness. Some people have questioned why I opted for a minimalist plate carrier if I was going to add a bunch of crap to it, but the simple fact of the matter is that I never wear all of my add-ons at the same time. If the ventilated padded mesh was integral to my carrier then I would not have that option.
I really want to like this guy. His vids are good, he’s obviously well connected with some high speed dudes, and production quality is good. But my god, I can’t take all the “uhhh’s” during the review. Just too much. I couldn’t finish it out. 🤷♂️
May have missed it in the comments but the reasons that the Tactical Games has you carry 5 magazines in certain round is its basis from the military. Standard load out for deployments is 5/3. I am not 100% sure on if that is why they do it but that is what we carried on each of my tours. Hope that helps, I did try to look it up, but couldn’t find anything in writing so I could be wrong on their reasoning.
My setup for normal "tasks at hand" is 5+5 mags... I keep 4 AR mags on a drop leg unit and the pistol are in a couple of different locations.... one is on the drop leg pistol holster, 3 are on my belt, obviously the 5th mag is loaded into the firearm.
Awesome info. Hadn't heard of the tactical games until i happened upon your channel. Always wanting to learn more and become a better shooter. Also it's just fun to shoot because 2A and Murica! haha keep up the great content man!
I originally was wanting to run the slickster, but after seeing this video, I’ve decided this is the carrier I need. Also, I watched you put those damn plates back in. Haha
Just got myself the Strandhogg SAPI cut, in Large. What plates are you using, more to the point, did you get the same size plates as your carrier? I am hoping Large SAPI plates fit, 10.25"x13.25" Hesco or similar.
@@natechester1 I did get Large SAPI plates for my Large Strandhogg, that's how they are sized. You get medium and medium, if we're talking SAPI plates. Borrowed a friends 10x12 AR500 plates, way too loose, and sink down too low. Also tried 11x14, IIRC, and those would not go in the Strandhogg Large.
Awesome review. Can you add the link for the admin pouch you have on your vest please. They have different versions on the website and can't find the one you have on your vest.
Call me a noob or uncultured, but what exactly is Topo Chico? Sparkling/carbonated water? Just curious. Awesome video as always man! Nice setup. Is that OD green or "Ranger Green"? Love the intro, since I'm an "essential employee" in a local hospital. I'm actually in Radiology as well, but I'm not a tech. I'm more of a tech assistant and patient transporter. Praying for your family, as well. I know it's hard with all this crap going on and going around. Thankfully we've only had a handful of positive cases around here.
With all this COVID crap going on I feel like a vest/plate carrier group is almost a "must buy" item now! Its only a matter of time before shit hits the fan.
First of sorry about your loss. Second I'm just now getting into guns of course and have a lot of questions but really what's the point of a vest? Every video I see for instructional training people have a vest on and fully loaded with stuff.
Thank you and welcome to the community. A lot of instructors are (former) professional end users or train professional end users so they usually wear the gear necessary for their job. The vests have body armor protection from opposing fire and carry extra equipment. As a civilian you have the freedom to purchase and train in armor but if you’re just starting out I would put an emphasis on training and if you need to carry extra gear get a chest rig, which will help carry stuff without armor plates. Hope that helps.
I'm looking at this exact carrier and I'm concerned about that issue with the Tubes on the shoulders. Do you have images or video of how it interferes with the stock? Have you found a way to "unTubes" the shoulder straps?
So can carrying other equipment in your front pouches. I think part of the idea is that your end goal isn't to get into a firefight, and if you do end up in a firefight requiring 100+ round your primary goal is going to be retreat. Like he said though, your gear should be specific to your goals and how you think you're going to handle them. If you want to have enough ammo to handle extended or consecutive firefights, go ahead and wear as many mags as you want.
Almost bought a K19. Very nice, but 12-14 weeks waiting period. Bought a 511 tac tec and it is very comfortable. It has a quick release and you don’t have the adjustment issue or shoulder issues Jim spoke about.
Bruh your double decker is mounted right but the other two tacos are backwards. The shock cord goes on the outside on tacos. Google it or just look at HSGI website.
Given that you already have a medical pouch on your belt, is the one on the plate carrier truly necessary? Does it contain things that can't fit in the belt pouch or is it more for redundancy? Not criticizing, just curious about your thought pattern on the subject.
there’s a saying 1 is none, 2 is one and 3 is more. If god forbid you had to use a med kit for any reason, you would feel uneasy about not having whatever you just used.
WHAT IS THE BEST BODY ARMOR!?? I can’t find a company that stands out bc everyone I ask thinks a different company is the best. Want to make sure I get something that is worth it and will do what it needs to
Just a hint of constructive criticism (just found your page) slow down and think about what you say and it will cut down on all the ummm. A buddy of mine who usually did briefs to people (he’s a vet) people are more likely to absorb the knowledge and be more attentive as ummm tends to give off the impression you don’t know what your talking about. I’m a shorter guy as well and have limited real estate so I’m particularly interested in your gear reviews. I appreciate your content

@@somedudeona6367 absolutely!!!!
Can you specify what size plates fit which carrier? Will 10x12 fit the medium carrier?
Underrated aspect of armor: TRAUMA PADS. LEARN HOW THEY WORK.
This was the most informal video about this carrier coming from a casual nice dude lol
Just found your channel and ig yesterday and I absolutely love the content, keep killing it dude!
Thanks for the kind words and support

Don't forget about the delivery people.. This world is still functioning because of them!
Absolutely. A lot of unsung heros out there right now.
I need that AVERAGE JOE patch
Find a friend in a army, every army base has a store with a bunch of different patches like that

What size carrier/plates did you go with ?
Hey man! Can you explain the sizing of the carrier? Is the 10x12 plates going to fit a large? The website isn’t very explanatory. Thanks!

I'll take some chocolate peanutbutter oreos if you got,lol anyways good video brother. Be safe and stay cool.
I’ll see what I can do
The last 2 minutes of comments in the video was worth the whole thing Hahahaha
Hahaha thanks for sticking around that far
How many rounds do you expect using in a gunfight? I would prioritize more rifle mags on the carrier.
Well, he has 90, and for most anything civilian or LEO, that'll be more than enough.
@@busybird7149 Yes, but two more mags can do a difference.
