Thanks for the review, VERY INFORMATIVE! ... I love the end of your video lol. .... and just wanted to tell you that the tread on most devices is 1/4-20 no 3/8. Cheers!
I bought one about a year ago and was very impressed with the fluid head. I had to buy another one a few months ago because it broke. It's plastic, no complaints though.
sorry to hear that. i have not had an issue with mine at all...at least the fluid pan head. one of the clips on the pole broke but was still funstional. i dont use the monopole anymore but im still using the fluid panhead. its the same one as in the video...still going strong.
Bima Adi Nugroho Sylirian Can I use it like selfie stick? I mean hold the thick side and put the smartphone or a camera on the thin side? In this case can I also put the tripod on the thick side? Thank you.
Hi Buddy, I already have two fluid heads, One is on my tripod and the other is for a spare setup if needed. I liked this review of your Monopod with fluid head. Seems to be fairly put together and not just a piece of cheap s... I've had both my shoulders replaced, (Both Stuffed) and been looking around and deciding about getting a monopod. This has sealed my decision on getting this particular model as I can use "my" fluid head, or if the head on this model is half decent, then I'll stick with it as the full thing will help my shoulders in having to hold up my 7D with 24-105 lens which together are pretty hefty. thanks again for your review. You showed all the parts, how to use it, how to pull apart, and make it a all round Monopod/Stand. Thanks again, Teddy.
Hi I've had this for over 18 months and you can put the fluid head on the tripod feet as a table top tripod, IT'S THE BEST OUT THERE FOR THE PRICE. GREAT VIDEO
Nice review,i really like itBtw this monopod have a stability like a tripod if i want to take the static shoot? Especially in the eye or chest level monopod
its pretty stable if you don't have it fully extended and there is no wind. of course if your holding the monopole its perfect. i love it...it goes everywhere with me.
Nice but I see already a problem how you level it out horizontal if you in chest hight you arms will be to short to unscrew the ball to be able to tilt it :(
i use the Neewer® 24"/60cm DSLR Camera Track Dolly Slider. i absolutely love it. keep it simple. the Neewer is only $45 and it works great. its the perfect length for smooth, long slider shots. what is the SLD230? www.amazon.com/Neewer-Stabilization-Capacity-Perfect-Photography/dp/B00LX1ERI6/ref=sr_1_2?srs=5468225011&ie=UTF8&qid=1486994543&sr=8-2&keywords=neewer+slider
well, technically they are the same from what i can tell. i used this monopole on my cruise for 7 days. it was a life saver. was able to keep it compact and its was very versatile for my video work without the need of a tripod. the fluid pan head gave me buttery smooth pan shots on the fly. it really is a life saver and ideal for traveling light.
Can I use it like selfie stick? I mean hold the thick side and put the smartphone or a camera on the thin side? In this case can I put the tripod on the thick side? Thank you.
you can use it as a selfie stick. but you can only put the camera on one side. Its a bit on the large size to be used with your phone as a selfie stick. its more suitable for large size cameras. does that help? cheers mate.
sanskar sharma that's a pretty heavy setup. This fluid pan head is not robust and suitable for heavy loads like that. With a light wait camera with a kit lens would be fine. It might work....i just don't have a way to confirm it. You need a tripod for that type of camera setup IMO
sanskar sharma that's a good question. There are a few factors that need to be considered. How high do you need it? What is the weight factor you need and is portability an issue. I use the vangaurd for my tripod. It's versatile and very light weight. I transfer the yungteng pan head to it and it's a great, compact Hiking setup. See my review on the vangaurd tripod. It's under a hundred.
Indoors only yes. it is top heavy when you extend all the way. keep it out of the way of anyone bumping it. when you fully extended the monopole...it is very susceptible to vibrations which will create shaky video...like from footsteps etc. be very carefully when leaving it unattended.
no it wont. especially if the camera is heavy. this is NOT a replacement for a tripod. when fully extended you raise the center of gravity and make it top heavy. you need to be holding it. unless there is NO wind and maybe with a camera phone.... it would be stable....but DO NOT leave your DSLR camera unattended with this thing fully extended. use a tripod for that.
i use it occasionally. im primarily using my light tripod now. i use the monopole as a DIY steady cam rig. takes some practice but i can use it for smooth shots.
you need to get this fluid pan head. it makes your shots look buttery smooth. make the small investment so you dont have to handheld your panning shots. taking the time to set up a landscape shot of your camping areas will lend a better feel in the end production of your videos.
you can get a used on on Ebay for about $28 shipped. just type in "Yunteng 288 Monopod Unipod Holder Professional Photography" and there is one for $17 plus shipping.
Thanks for the review, VERY INFORMATIVE! ... I love the end of your video lol. .... and just wanted to tell you that the tread on most devices is 1/4-20 no 3/8. Cheers!
Adrián Sendo I had a feeling I was wrong about the thread diameter. Thx mate
Once again Thanks, Man. I just put this monopod on my wish list at Amazon.
its one of my bst purchases. super convenient and light weight. glad i could help. cheers mate.

i had this thing for 2 months i dint know you can remove all those thanks men
Hi Tim. You can plug the head on the bottom legs. That way, you can mount the camera for low angle shots or table top camera. :)

Thank you bro!

Uncle, how is the stability? Does it shakes a lot?
1/4 - 3/8 other way around. Good stuff thanks.
ArtBeHereNow lol....I had a feeling I was saying it wrong. Thanks mate
The head also fits on the stands Unipod Holder, so you can use your Camera at floor level.
How is the stability? How much does it shake?
Just curious to know how this piece of equipment held up, I know you made this video about a year ago. Thanks!
Jason Bravo I still use it frequently and has held up like a champ.
Tim V - Thx!
What is the size of the quick release plate
Awesome Review. two Thumbs Up Tim

After watching your video. I purchased this Yunteng VCT-288 at Tomtop for $34.99 free shipping. Thanks Man.
Lino Bancain good deal
Lino Bancain
Does it have problems with rust from rain and water?
the legs are stainless steel.....so they are rust resistant. i do not get it wet or submerge it in water....so i have had no rusting on it.
Nice but I see already a problem how you level it out horizontal if you in chest hight you arms will be to short to unscrew the ball to be able to tilt it :(
THATS NOT A PROBLEM AT ALL...SIMPLY ATTACH A BALL HEAD MOUNT TO THE MOUNTING PLATE. I DO THAT TO MAKE ALL SHOT LEVEL. YOUR WELCOME.
Are u still using it?
awesome video bro thx!!
awesome review...
What slider do you use? I'm looking at the ultra cheap SLD-230. Any thoughts?
Thanks.

I'm deciding either vct 588 or 288 to buy for my GH5 dslr. For travelling which one will you bring? Thank you.
well, technically they are the same from what i can tell. i used this monopole on my cruise for 7 days. it was a life saver. was able to keep it compact and its was very versatile for my video work without the need of a tripod. the fluid pan head gave me buttery smooth pan shots on the fly. it really is a life saver and ideal for traveling light.
Thanks Tim.
Both are same. Still 588 costs much more
@@youtubecreatorsacademy4686 I think the 588 is actually taller.
Yungteng vct 228 or takara vim 247 for video?
Does the head tilt 0 - 90?
Can I use it like selfie stick? I mean hold the thick side and put the smartphone or a camera on the thin side? In this case can I put the tripod on the thick side?

Tim V
Thank you.
Yes, you need to buy mobile holder for that, else you may use camera directly which i think is risky
will it work smooth using Cannon 6D with telly lens?
sanskar sharma that's a pretty heavy setup. This fluid pan head is not robust and suitable for heavy loads like that. With a light wait camera with a kit lens would be fine. It might work....i just don't have a way to confirm it. You need a tripod for that type of camera setup IMO
Thanks Tim for your quick response. So which video tripod with fluid head you suggest under 100$
sanskar sharma that's a good question. There are a few factors that need to be considered. How high do you need it? What is the weight factor you need and is portability an issue. Rudy Lew I'm not sure. Contact Dji regarding this question.
Tim V , Thx for speedy reply
In my country selling less than usd30
Would it stand by itself if you leave it alone for a while? I am planning to use it to take an hour long video of a wedding ceremony. Btw good review.
Indoors only yes. it is top heavy when you extend all the way. keep it out of the way of anyone bumping it. when you fully extended the monopole...it is very susceptible to vibrations which will create shaky video...like from footsteps etc. be very carefully when leaving it unattended.
I see. Well I'll give this monopod a try. Thanks for the reply.

Fajar Nurrahman I will make a tutorial for you my friend. I will do it this weekend. Cheers mate
Tim V Thanks man
How much(weight) can this carry?
Nicholas Ten maybe 3-4 lbs
hi bro wanna ask.. when the monopod on its full length will it be unstable?
no it wont. especially if the camera is heavy. this is NOT a replacement for a tripod. when fully extended you raise the center of gravity and make it top heavy. you need to be holding it. unless there is NO wind and maybe with a camera phone.... it would be stable....but DO NOT leave your DSLR camera unattended with this thing fully extended. use a tripod for that.
yeap well understood.. just wondering will it falls.. anyway.. i ordered one.. look forward for its arrival.. thanks for the tips
i think you will enjoy it. i love mine.
are u still using the monopod right now? do u use glidecam?
i use it occasionally. im primarily using my light tripod now. i use the monopole as a DIY steady cam rig. takes some practice but i can use it for smooth shots.
Now im starting to get jealous
you need to get this fluid pan head. it makes your shots look buttery smooth. make the small investment so you dont have to handheld your panning shots. taking the time to set up a landscape shot of your camping areas will lend a better feel in the end production of your videos.
I will definitely be picking this one up, thanks!
interesting! If I can get it for less than $40 its a good deal
you can get a used on on Ebay for about $28 shipped. just type in "Yunteng 288 Monopod Unipod Holder Professional Photography" and there is one for $17 plus shipping.
Too bad it has no regulation of the lateral inclination.
subd! thanks man
