Can I use it as self stick? I mean put on the thin side the smartphone or a camera and hold it from the thick side? In this case can I put the tripod on the thick side? Thank you.
I plan to buy andoer fluid, but after watching this video make me decide and ask your opinion, should i buy this monopod with head or buy head fluid only, and any issue of shacking, and the fluid head is smooth?
It's smooth, remember though it's more an entry level monopod/head ie it's fine - long term it's OK if you treat it with some care. Obviously you can pay a lot more, or just get a head and it might be worth the extra. So if you are starting out or want to keep the budget low it's an alright choice. To a point with heads/monopods you get what you pay for, apart from the high end stuff which is crazy expensive and for most not worth buying!
@@MrBazReviews I haven't bought it yet, I want it as a tripod + filming rig. What I wanted to know was will the monopod be stable without hand held assistance so I can film myself like a tripod and do panning as an extra feature to make my videos better.
I made the video so you can see in detail for yourself and decide. It works it is a budget option and it's pretty good for the price, there are better ones that cost more as always. A phone is a lot lighter than a camera so I can't see you having issues but the choice is yours
I would like to know if there is an issue when you vertically flip the monopod for low shot footage. Is the mount plate prone to fall from the tripod head?
I bought this Tripod, now after 5 months the fluid head is all sticky making it difficult to twist. Any ideas to remove the stickiness thanks in advance.
Not a bad product, the only thing is the head is fully plastic and it breaks after some time and use - own experience. Still, for that price I would surely recommend it.
Head is working OK still for me, but yes it's plastic so long term obviously not going to be as robust as a metal head. I'm doing a few ball head reviews soon, I'll try to get a video head in sometime to show For the price it's decent for starting out
You mean the Lumix lens? I'd use this for normal tele lenses, you'd want something sturdier for 400mm and up or heavy lenses, don't see why that lens would be a problem it's fairly light
@@MrBazReviews is it because the damping is quite strong that the base cannot stay put even when you pan the head at the loosest setting with just a phone on top?
@@danielslwu I just told you it's not heavy enough you need a tripod for that or you have to support it, there is a reason why the feet are designed to be stood on
It's stable ish at shorter lengths not really at full length depends on balance. Honestly don't risk it camera crashing down/broken lens not worth it at all. Treat it as a monopod not a tripod. Even outside shortest extension one gust of wind could knock it over I'd suggest leaning it against something. If you need real stability a tripod is the only way to go
i get a free upgrade to the later model which is model 588 .. im looking forward for the quality.. based on the demo set photos that the seller show to me.. the 588 model is qlightly bigger thicker than 288.. and the design and size very similar to manfrotto.. i guess.. i should continue hype till this friday the item reach my place~
Depends on price the 588 has a higher rated load capacity (that's rated though they tend to over state this a bit on budget tripods/monopods) bit taller not a big difference if you can find the 288 around cheaper it's worth a shot. Anyone doing very serious video production is going to be using a higher end monopod/head, but it's alright for starting out and light duty
Well the fluid head is really for video and it works pretty well for a budget monopod. Panning is quite smooth. Obviously it's not pro end, but I found it decent for video too

Just purchased mine after watching your very clear and thorough video on this monopod which covered all my questions on it. Well done - thank you!!
It's not bad at all for a budget option, some limitations in build, fine for getting started though and you can get decent results with it
Thanks for the great review. Sold!
Can I use it as self stick?

Thank you.
If you mean the top plate it's fairly large so not likely to make any difference at all
I don't know if the lateral inclination method is good for taking pictures.

Hows the fluid is it leaking? 4 yrs later
It is working OK for me, I don't use it regular though once in a whle
Can the bluetooth remote, control the video start / stop function of the camera of an android smartphone ?
I am buying this for my google pixel 3 xl + a telephoto lens for filming videos hope the results will be good.
It should be fine but let me know how you find it I used it mainly with cameras, but a phone will surely work

As long as the plate is locked in it doesn't come off unless it's released
Doesn't it stand on its own at all? Was thinking of getting this for shooting time lapses.
The video covers this quite clearly, but no get a tripod for time lapses
Does the adapter come with the package?

Try small bit of WD40 not much tiny spray
@@MrBazReviews thank you it worked!
How is this compared to coman kx3232
What is the size of the quick release plate
6.5cm there are spares around on eBay etc

Let me know what you think I find it quite good
The Hammerdown
Does have problems with water and rust?
It's got wet a few times so far no signs of rusting
Mr Baz Reviews
Thank you.
Is it stable enough to pan with one hand horizontally at full height without stepping down on the feet or holding it down with the other hand?
Depends on the weight you really have to support it a bit unless it's quite heavy
@@MrBazReviews I plan to use it with iPhone 11
@@danielslwu You'll have to support it very little weight or maybe get a compact tripod

Very good quality video!
Thanks tried to show it as best I can, it's pretty decent really
What’s the price of it?
Google web search is your friend
How slow can you go?
Pretty slow you just keep an even movement - seems to work quite well I did a few pan examples
Nice! Keep it up!
Thanks for the comment will try to do more photo related videos in future!

Awesome video!!!
Do the quick release compatible with manfrotto plates? Nice review btw
Nope not the ones I've used but you can change the head that's an option (it's alright for the price) just if you use it more heavily...
will this work fine for photos too ?
not video making
Yup works fine for still photos

Nice dear

No stability
It's a monopod with feet, it's not the same as a tripod nor will it work as well - it's alright for what it is though
