This guy is a michelin star chef and still "doubts himself" unbelievable humility from what appears to be an incredible talent.
I guess he knows it is a silly star western people give each other to boost the market..
@@felleg4737 Nah, he talks real casual even when making amazing cuts. He's just a humble dude. Awesome to see
Everything Michelin chef “doubts” themselves, it’s what drives them to always be learning, adapting and improving. You can never settle as a Michelin chef, you always have to be worried about your food not being good enough.
A lot of successful people doubt themselves. That’s what makes them work hard and get better.
Yes he is asian its common here
The first to arrive, that last to exit. He’s a master, indeed.
What about MySpace?
Ragnar Lodbrok the only way to the 🔝 or aka financial success.
So cool to find a Japanese Michelin Star sushi chef who tried his best to speak English the whole time on this video.
Yes, because everyone knows that being able to speak English is the true measure of a person...
@@MrYetiman82 think they were just hinting at the fact that it takes a lot of effort for a non native english speaker to speak english for almost a whole day... especially if he is still struggling with it. So, who are you getting offended for?
@@MrYetiman82 in my country if you can speak English people will have more respect to you
and some will consider you genius
@@vrman4600 Really? Wow, that seems so weird to me. Is that the case with only English, or other languages too?
@@SinkEmQuicker Well that's a point of view that I didn't consider. Let's hope that's the case. It just didn't come across to me that way when I read it
I have such mad respect for chefs with such passion and commitment to what they do. It's these kind of people that make humanity so beautiful.
I swear to god Japanese people are a different breed. The discipline, passion and attention to detail these guys have for food... I mean you know shit is real when they even import water from japan to cook.
Yes I am amazed at most things Japanese. I somehow love Japanese so much 😍
And they all have depression
@@thanhhainguyen1554 you mean china? Not Japan dumbass
Jose amezcua japan too. You may see them as a happy and cheerful people but there’s a lot more problem behind those smile
Agreed but the only part that was kinda "ehh". Is that he used his phone with the gloves on and then continues to prepare the fish w/ same gloves.. hygiene.. restaurant... raw fish...
I clicked to look for a min, but watched the whole thing, because the chefs attitude is so positive and welcoming! And the food looks amazing!
Same here!
I stayed because of his reaction to the cat :)
Me too
Same I almost switched to netflix before clicking on this video, great to see him so passionate and humble
same
the way he said he feels happy when people can feel happy bc of his food .... literally one of the nicest person in the world, so cute
I like how he refers to everyone as his freind he seems very chill
"We also mop floor with Hokkaido water, doesn't leave marks, very important"
XD
It's funny, since distilled water can't leave marks.
Jeremie Bricout water most important part of restaurant
I shaved my head, but I am still a sucker
@Andres Porras I'll tell her 🤣😂🤣
He’s so happy with his life, warms my heart
Be proud of your work and always do the best, and turn off social media too
it's all a cover up. for all u know he is struggling financially and is depressed cuz he wants to be an auto mechanic
why wouldn't he be?
people pay him stupid amount of money to eat raw fish and rice LOL
@@timbeinborn3328 you obviously don't know me
@John Wayne I'm pretty sure that cooking class and cooking schools costs a lot tho.
"Very cute."

My guy absolutely *MUCKING* that bowl
😂😂😂😂😂I saw that shit and was like "You deserve that chief. You deserve that🔥"
Yeah people do that in Japan, I do it too. It’s just easier to get the remaining condiments into the bowl while we eat, especially with chopsticks
Marco White & Gordon Ramsay: *fights very hard for Michelin stars
Toshoo Kimura: *I got a Michelin star and I still don't know why*
doesn't gordon ramsay have like 16 michelin stars?
@@coraaalix But he had to work very hard for his first 3 stars because he wanted to prove himself. Though that's not to say he didn't have to work hard for the other stars as well
its more like Kimura is a humble type of person. Japan has the most Michelin Stars restaurants in the World. So it is generally accepted that only the best in Japan get them. Hence why he was wondering why, considering he's technically very new in the industry. Goes to show he has insane potential. 30 years from now, i can definitely see him being considered the best Japanese Sushi Restaurant owner.
Nice
@@unnamedshadow1866 except Kimura isnt in Japan 🙄 its in Singapore
All Sushi Chefs: I have worked 100 years training to be a sushi chef, currently I am still cleaning dishes, one day I hope to graduate!
the artist 🤣🤣🤣👍🏻
😂😂
My wife hates you for making me lol at 2am and woke her up
🤣🤣👍👍
the artist Well just stick with it. Eventually you’ll be on the line too, working your ass off. When I was training I had to make the sushi rice and the miso soup for like two years before I was allowed to go near the fish. Luckily I had a great teacher and learned all the “basics” the right way. Now I have been on the line for like 5yrs. Hopefully one day soon I will have my own restaurant. One day.................
Most Japanese people are very respectful. I love how they give a little bow to everyone. I wanna go to Japan and have sushi someday.
please do come one day 👍🏻
All I know is if I went probably be there along time. So much I want to see. They have an island that is for the most beautiful flowers you'll ever see. Also 47 Ronin Memorial. Seriously way to much culture that I've been dieing to see. Also their Koi oh my god Koi farms wow.
It's brilliant over there.
I'm European but have intuitively bowed a little bit to people i respect or when they've done something kind for me. Idk it just feels right. It's gratitude

What a sympathic and down to earth human being. So rare these days.

So talented yet so humble. It was a real treat watching him handle his fish, he handles it artistically.
No such thing.
@@vash347 What a vague reply.
@gottfer where's your michelin star mate?
@gottfer are you serious? You have no clue how attentive he is and how gentle he is with his movements. Did you watch the video? He spent years training before even allowed to touch the fish, then another year training before even being allowed to serve. He was taught right and it shows with everything he does. You don't deserve to eat sushi prepared the right way. No respect for food...
@@dariusus9870 you strike me as the kind of person who eats sushi but only orders cali rolls and avacado rolls. Stick to BBQ, you don't belong here.
Appreciate the good relationship he built with his suppliers and him supporting locals ❤️

This made me very emotional and I’m not sure why, must be the Hokkaido water getting to me.
Lmao
So you could say the Hokkaido water left a mark in your heart?
That's weird... Hokkaido water leaves no marks. Very important.
He's an example if you love your occupation. He's so cheerful, humble, dedicated (still practicing rice forms in the train!) and knowledgeable.
From being a delivery boy to a sushi master to a business owner, he went through it all; persistence is key to success
I envy him cause he really oove what he does. He's really great
Persistence is also the reason why many people quit or are severely fatigued then get depressed then get more fatigued etc
@@KiraTheChad persistence and quitting are complete opposites. If you think being persistent leads to quitting and depression you will never be successful.
yep, it is!
He REALLY really enjoys what he does I love how he's always laughing and with a big smile🙂

thank you for sharing.
He is so humble. Love the character of the chef.
I really admire his focus on having a good relationship with his suppliers. Having that process run smoothly is such a great and important thing to establish as a restaurant owner.

Talented yet humble and he appears to have a beautiful relationship with everyone he knows. His staff, his patrons and even his seafood vendors. I love how relaxed of a bond he has with people, from the fisherman texting him a pic of his cat amongst the catches of the day to the delivery man smiling/joking with, "So long, never see you." Lol! Just like he said, things have REALLY lined up perfectly for him in life. It's well deserved and I wish him continued success well beyond his 60's. 👏
