blood and truth is definitely one of my favourite vr games of all time

This is why I wish Sony put in more effort to make older games easier to be ported over the psvr 2. So many games that people won't get to try because it's on dated hardware. I love astro, blood and truth, re7, hell even statik, all amazing games that aren't going to get the psvr 2 treatment they deserve.
It makes me sad, I really want to play these games but dont want to do it on the PSVR1 hardware
@@virtualinsider psvr1 is underated. Lenses is really good way more like pancake lenses than anything else. Actually similar to varjo lenses.
RGB oled screen so great sub-pixel alignment does not make it very pixelated at all. Games supporting dynamic resolution and plugging in psvr1 in ps5 shows that visuals are still great in that headset.
Controller tracking is not 360 but within its 180 degrees its really good.
The ps5 adapter is still free from Sony. and its the best way to play psvr1. You can get the headset used for like 60 to 100 dollars with moves.
For me Psvr1 just worked and was fun for years. Upgrading to quest 2 from psvr1 gave me more freedom but it did put me off from vr for a while until i figured out all the PC tricks to actually get a good experience on pc.

Blood and Truth got a patch that detects if the game is run on PS5 in back compat - it then runs with better visuals and 90fps mode.
Here They Lie has a pancake version which is much sharper.
Statik is amazing, but don't waste time on Inpatient.
Are you serious about blood and truth? I never heard that I might have to steal my old VR from my sister I gave it to her when I got my PSVR2
There was also a PSVR1-only mission for one of the Star Wars Battlefield games where you do a short X-wing mission in VR, when it came out it was one of the only PSVR things I wish we had on PC (though it's really a short mission and would get old quickly, but I was still jealous). I hoped it was a demo for what would become a full length Star Wars dogfighting game, like a modern day TIE Fighter, but I guess it resulted in Star Wars Squadrons-- which I enjoyed, but it was so dang short and multiplayer focused.
I tried PSVR1 at a buddies house early on, mainly playing The London Heist, and it was impressive that VR could run at all on a PS4, but the tracking and dogcrap controllers were a big bummer. The headset was comfortable at least! I don't own a PS5 but when the PSVR2 came out I was tempted to splurge 1000 bucks to jump in, but as of now I'm glad I saved my money. There's just not any games available that I really care about, and it really sucks that PSVR2 doesn't seem like a priority for Sony at all. It's a waste of a nice-sounding headset. I agree they should port all of the classic PSVR1 games over!
I know it's a ton of money but just the Versions of Resident Evil foreign date are so freaking good. also Vertigo 2 coming out soon holy shit I cannot wait for that

I honestly love Blood and Truth. Such a shame my move controllers aren't usable anymore (the trigger is stuck), It's IMO top 5 best VR game . And like you said, Wipeout Omega is an absolute masterpiece and so is Astrobot.
I also really loved Here They Lie. It was short enough for one sitting (or standing), and was such a strange and creepy world that I'll never forget it. Honestly I remember it like a dream. It's so strange you could misremember it as a dream and I love that about it. It's not a masterpiece and it's sort of a walking simulator but they really nailed the world and atmosphere IMO . It was also one of my first VR experiences
Déraciné was developed by FromSoftware and directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, for the PS VR in 2018. I'm sure many people would like to experience it, considering how popular all their titles are nowadays.
Still one of My favorite VR experiances I had. Such an unique antmosphere and eerie feeling.
That name rings a bell but for the life of me I cannot remember what game that was. I'm gonna look it up

Add RIGS to the list. Playing it now it's good arcade mech fun. If you own a ps5 and a psvr2, it's worth looking into a refurbished psvr 1 for all these games in the video. I got a refurbished one for $100
Skyrim and Hitman Trilogy not being on Psvr2 is also very sad.
The Studios are disbanded it is never gonna happen

London studios is making a fantasy game set in London. No news on anything vr tho.
The ones that have not been ported are because the studios were disbanded or they simply are just not possible to do. This has been already been discussed many times by devs.
Actually insane that they launched PSVR2 with no WipEout upgrade, still the best reason to own a PSVR1.

1:18 thankfully there is BallisticNG with VR support. Personally I like it even better than the Omega Collection as they not only capture the artstyle of the first Wipeouts even the gameplay feels more tighter and closer to Psysgnosis first 3 games in the series. A must have for every Wipeout fan and it has workshop support on Steam. So a massive load of tracks on top. :) Amazing game you should check out if you already haven't.
Hi great video, I really like all your content, and try to catch all your videos. I agree with all your ports that you would to see. I still play my PSVR 1, ( I can't afford the PSVR2 ) all the time. I love RE 7, Here They lie, Farpoint, and Astro Bot. But the one you left out was Dreams. It was like the Roblox of PSVR 1. You should check it out, not only did it have a lot of good games, but you could even make your own. keep up all the great work you do, and I hope you have a great day.
Farpoint was so freaking cool with the aim controller! And yeah my first time playing through Resident Evil 7 was in VR so that was pretty freaking nuts especially when Jack came through that wall
I was ready to pull the trigger on PSVR2 and at the last second thought, all the old games work, right? I had just assumed they did. I’ll just say the answer to that made the Quest 3 look a lot more viable for me. If I’m starting over might as well be on a different platform. Also the games now costing over twice as much is a tough pill to swallow on PlayStation. The limited few I’ve seen are, forgive me if that’s wrong. It’s like Sony wants it to fail.
Safe to say that the psvr1 had some of the best vr games.
Besides trying the virtual boy when I was young and the Google cardboard, the PSVR was my first real experience with vr. So when I heard the first announcement that they were coming out with the PSVR2I was so excited and sure that at least all the games I had bought for my original would work on it if not be completely updated. I really think that was one of the dumbest decisions they could have made
It's crazy that some of the best psvr2 vr games haven't had proper updates for psvr2. Makes no sense at all. The main reason psvr 2 hasn't sold that well is because of the lack of great games. Even its top exclusives like Horizon aren't great. I know quite a lot of vr gamers, none of which bought psvr2 because of its library.
Im so happy that for half-life alyx coming still new stuff out at the workshop . I was astonished about a new level again, yesterday . The graphics are so real of the masterpiece

There was another psvr1game about Dinosaurs on distant planet. There is pc port, but it's inherited those horrible psvr gamepad controls.
Regarding Here They Lie: It's one of my favourite PSVR games, and there might be some hope of it getting a port. Wes Dillon on Virtual Strangers does a full playthrough of the game every year in October and this year he was joined by Cory Davis, the creative director of the game. Cory and most of the HTL team moved on to a company called Eyes Out, and he said Tangent Games doesn't own the HTL IP, and a PSVR 2 port might be possible if there's enough interest.
Also their new game sounds like it's in a similar vein, and likely will be either a VR or hybrid game.
I don't know why Sony doesn't port a lot of these to PSVR2. They still hold up really well!
I wish Skyrim VR has a port to PSVR 2, I wanna finish it but I can’t tolerate the graphics and resolution of the game in PSVR1
The game would probably look really good on PSVR2 if they implemented eye tracking/fov rendering. Kinda like how No Man's Sky was completely transformed from PSVR1 to PSVR2. But unfortunately Bethesda would have to update it, and good luck with that.
I wanted to say great job on the video, and thanks for covering this platform even though you don't own it. You picked most of the best exclusive games on the platform imo (especially hidden gems like HTL and Statik), but there's one pretty glaring omission, which is Until Dawn: Rush of Blood. You even mentioned it in the Inpatient section! :D ...I guess maybe you didn't include it because a spiritual successor called Switchback VR was made for PSVR 2, but Rush of Blood is a different (and many would argue, far the superior) game.
Aside from that, there are a few other notable exclusives, like Firewall Zero Hour (got a sequel, but apparently the original is still better), Deracine, Ace Combat 7's VR mode (only 3 levels, but what's there is incredible), Everybody's Golf, and RIGS Mechanized Combat League.
But maybe the best VR game on PSVR that you didn't cover is Dreams. It's made by Media Molecule, the studio that did the Little Big Planet games, and it's a powerful toolset for users to make their own games/media. It got VR support patched in after launch, including support for the Move and Aim controllers. Like most games based around user generated content, there's a ton of crap to sort through, but there's also dozens of good games built for VR on it, with a few even looking better than some commercial VR games of the time (seriously, check out videos of Hypercycle Arena 2.5, a game inspired by Tron's Lightcycles).
Dreams is also one of a handful of games that is visually enhanced when played on a PS5 via backward compatibility, and that makes a lot of the PSVR creations look significantly better. Unfortunately Media Molecule has announced they're ending active support/development of Dreams, and it never got a native PS5 version, so a PSVR 2 version will almost certainly never happen.
Such an amazing List of Games. Really hope Golem and Here They Lie are coming to PSVR2 because they are still incredible and unique. Resident Evil 7 is one of my favorite Games of All Time. Playing it with RE8 controls would be mind blowing. I already played Tumble on PS3 with Moves and loved it. The VR Version is great. Calming but challenging. So excited for What is coming in 2024. Hope you will find your Game to justify your purchase. For me GT7 and RE8 are reasons enough to get it 😁

I bought a lot of PSVR 1 games and pre ordered the PSVR 2. Just sold it for a fraction of the price. So disappointed and angry for the wasted money. The headset wasn't as comfortable, felt low quality and was almost impossible to get a decent view with, so despite the higher spec the picture was effectively always worse than my Quest 2! Obviously this is just my experience and clearly lots of people love it, but not for me. I can't believe so few titles got updated.
I agree on the comfort part my PSVR1 was more comfortable than my PSVR2. and it does lose the sweet spot any time the headset moves on your head so I find myself adjusting it a lot but slowly but surely the libraries getting better

My biggest issue with PlayStation in general and PSVR is this issue. They aren't building a long-lasting platform, they start a-new every 5-8 years. Personally five years passes by quite quickly, so why invest in a PSVR2, a 499$ accessory, when the value of that accessory will likely be stuck to the library of the PS5 alone (with very little effort made from Sony themselves). Just like the PSVR, PSVR2 will have all of its games stuck on the current console without an upgrade path. I guess this is why I invested in PCVR. Because I know my investment in hardware and software will not become over time... Also, it's such an incredible waste of creative talent, when games get stuck and lost on a console generation. Especially with the risk of being lost forever, unless the pirate- and emulation-scene can resurrect these titles in the future.
