Who's happy Nate Diaz got the win in the last fight on his UFC contract ✅
🤑🤑🤑 Strategic error by UFC
They tried to close him out with a crazy hard fight and undermine him. Instead he moves on a legend.
Li vs D rod, who really won?
It’s kinda bittersweet. Happy Nate won, but sad that Tony looked so ragged in that match.
Even when they try make nate lose, he still wins. Same when they put him against Conor.
They tried to do a manny pacman on him. But MMA isn't boxing. :)
This is actually a common practice by the UFC and they have been doing it for a while. When it's someone they want to extend/keep on their current contract but the fighter wants to fight it out, their last opponent is always a tough fight the UFC hopes they lose. Takes away some leverage on the next contract or marketability if they choose elsewhere.
Nate and especially Nick, always reminded me of durable volume punchers like Antonio Margarito (without the loaded gloves obviously). They’re styles are not about power or like you said conventional technique, but drowning guys.
That hand movement is called milling it's a old Pugilism trick fairly common in pre Queensbury boxing
One term I’ve heard is hitting on the half-beat; in reference to the first point on Nate’s Jab/Cross.
A point about the first technique: it's true Nate is very tough, but he also has a pretty good reach for his weight classes (listed at 77", in comparison Anderson SIlva's is listed at 77). Nate also leans in like you said when he throws that technique, making his range even longer, and him harder to counter.
That move of rolling your hands is called “Roll The Dice” is part of the 52 blocks fighting system
the Stockton Slap is an all time classic move
Dude, don't apologize so much! You do a better job than any of us.
I like light to hard. I think the important thing to take from that. Is changing your speeds from your different punches. Also trying to practice the lead hook at different distances seems good too. Idk about practicing the slap in sparring. Lol
I like how you technically described a street fighting style. Nate Diaz's style should come from his street fighting experience because that's how a lot of people fight on the streets, at least in california.
No it isn’t dumbass
He trained with andre ward years ago. Ward spoke highly of his boxing skills back then
Andre trained with both Nick and nate. Saying that they were good enough to fight in pro boxing with their skills.
the "Rumble" was called Milling in the bare knuckle era of boxing. It was used to occupy the space between you and your opponent, to to create mouvement, distraction and possibly strike from a slighty different angle. And lastly it was used to give your hands a bit of speed before striking, so you don't start from 0 kmh. Tommy Moore from the Bartitsu Lab channel has a video on the topic
Insightful stuff thanks
Great video! Love the break down!
I always love how Nate box and I always emulate his style when training. I think the key of his famous 1,2 & his almost infinite barrage is the hula-hoop like motion with his waist & the way he slouch his shoulder for his long range punches. Might be false but that's how I always did it. It's just my thoughts as what it is.
As long as you make it effective it's all that matters. Even Conor said he took a little bit of Nick's style and made it work for himself.
Amazing video as always! You’ re born to be on video! !!!
The first point reminds me of the Dempsey Roll all the weight in every punch since he falls forward with the punches
Awesome vid! Looking for to see more like it for other fighters. That’s pretty cool how the slap is actually functional as a long range weapon and not just a gimmick. I wonder how much having unlimited cardio and his specific body type is prerequisite for his style.
Anderson Silva did exactly what you explained with the light to hard to knock down his opponent in his latest boxing match. He was throwing light punches to the body and then threw a full power hook when his opponent opened up to counter attack.
Poor Tito. Props to the bad boy for fighting where his talents are at a disadvantage.
Love this style 🙏🏽
Great idea and timing for a vid
I love these analyzes. Please do Jiri Prochazka.
I've heard it referred to as milling your hands it's almost like a form of faking
Milling...hmmm think I like rumble more 😄
Thanks for letting me know 🙏
I like the new audio setup
Nick's hands always look heavy when he is punching, even with less force. Your comment about him being loose all the time helped me understand why.
Also, the new mic thing is excellent improvement of the sound of your videos.
When i first saw Nate fight hated his ‘sloppy’ style.
Now i love it.
He is always so relaxed and accurate. So he can do a lot of continuous damage without depleting his gas tank.
And switching between light to hard shots mid combo is awesome too.
Such a unique and effective style.
I use the quick 1 + 2 back from karate point sparring. Where i leave my jab under opponents nose to cover his vision as rear punch is on its way. Works great!!
Great vid. Thanks Gabe!
Same same. Wasn't a fan of his boxing initially but it's grown on me a lot.
Big fan! Would love to see you break down the BMT system some time!
Thanks good job good fight to
Impressive Diaz breakdown and mimicking of him
👍🤝🍻
That was good fun to see
The "hand rumble" is called "milling." It's an old bare-knuckle boxing technique, but there are a few examples of modern boxers using it effectively, including Roy Jones Jr.
Beautiful Demo on Nate Diaz 🏆🥊💨💨💨
So funny ! I tought the jab cross of Nate Diaz were just kind of lazy gangster technique !
Old time boxers call that hand rumble "milling". You see Jack Johnson doing it a lot.
WOW Amazing!!!!! didnt know simple 1 2 can be combined so closely
Love this
God damn. It’s uncanny and almost creepy how much he nailed it. Like an expert impressionist.
I would love to see more "how to box like" videos.
good attention to detail particularly on that small wrist curl on that long range hook.
Best style breakdown
these analyses really make me appreciate the sport more. Otherwise I really wouldn't understand the nuance behind the fighters.
Amazing stufffffffffff 😍
I always called his "hand rumble" his "speed bag hands" lol because that's what it reminded me of.
The hand rolling thing is called milling in boxing.
Cool demo coach! 👍
This is really a good job!!
Ya break down only a pro could do it!!
Nate diaz got Volume and Lands with knuckles almost perfect, savannah marshall does it in boxing now get in Rhythm and Lands a lot!!
Would love a video on his brother. I find his boxing way better.
And, keep on grinding coach.
I was taught the jab cross thing that Nate did in karate.
Great video. You're Nate's jab/cross looks also like Max Holloway's.
great video very educational ✊😍
Glad you enjoyed it
YOU REALLY LOOKED LIKE DIAZ
His hand movements or the rumble. It looks a bit like a variations of an old school style called "jailhouse rock"
Amazing video, Could you do a video on Nate Diaz or Pouriers in fighting, when they have someone up against the cage and throw combos in short range.
Those rolling hands resemble Wing Tun Chain Punches.
I would love to hear about your mocap work you did and see more How To Fight Like videos on the bag. Do Anderson Silva!
Nate has a crazy timing
You do mocap work gabe?? that's really cool. A video about that & about other applications/ jobs for martial arts and martial artists besides fighting and coaching would be very interesting in my opinion. Is funny how I never would have imagined there could even be a connection between you and the video game industry lol
He just doesn't care about counters especially counter punches and counter takedowns that's why he is so flawless with his boxing skills added with his extra hard chin and his heart that never gives up and just continue to flurry until he lands something. That's what makes him confident and unique from all other boxers in UFC.
When your jab hits, your shoulder go back and push your other shoulder forward. So when your jab lands hit with your other hand.
Díaz is a Southpaw!
You did motion capture for the ufc games?! That's super cool !!!! How did it happened?
“He very rarely takes long breaks” … except last night when he made a show of his long breaks 😂
When you said you'd a Diaz impression. I thought you would do a voice impression
Would love to see a Tony ferguson tutorial
Varga is wearing a prototype scouter
Isnt another aspect of Nate's style is he is a right-handed southpaw?
Id love to see a naseem hamed one
3:21 call it the disco feint
Very cool, I'll bet I get told off by my coach though, and they won't believe my reason for doing it, all good though, itll be fun to play with a bit.
You get the effects of Newton's law of equal and opposite force if you throw the cross before the jab has completed its return.
Can you show us how to the Stockton slap?
The nick diaz hand look when he throw punches look so sweet to me.
Hand rumblen called show boaten
Am surprised you didn't mention how Nate guards. He likes to lean forward to encourage head hunting then he just guards up while his opponent gets tired trying to knock him out.
Can we get a "How to Fight Like Petr Yan" video? He's my favorite UFC fighter currently because of his crisp, textbook boxing and distance management.
Put together something on him fairly recently.
ua-cam.com/video/ZD2hOh1vuUM/v-deo.html
Interesting so nate is conserving energy and looking for openings I get it now.
He's game plan is to get you tired sorta like nick but they do it in different ways.
Nick uses his jab alot and has nasty body shots he basically bullies you into quitting.
Nate is a different animal, he doesn't have power but his jab is long, he is harder to hit and he is extremely tough, and he looks to selectively land his hard shots sorta like nick but nates power comes from his extension in his punches and he likes to drown you then look for openings to knock you out which is smart.
Gas your opponent then aim for the chin. They are more prone to quit if not be submitted.
But there boxing style is dead to gas you out and leave you two choices, get knocked out or gas out.
🎉🎉
fight like petr yan
Fight like Alex volkonsoki ....!
VOLK yes🙏🏽🙏🏽
Leg kick then leg kick again then leg kick again but never actually do damage to the leg
I would LOVE that video. Volk is The future of striking
Fight like Ilia Topuria
i'm sad about Tony losing, but I'm glad about Nate winning
Hand rumble = silk reeling power.
please do fight like Mohammed mezouari AKA hamicha
Hand shuffle?
Have you seen the khabib sambo vid where he lost?
Can you analyze their sambo knee/punch/and leg kicks?
I just saw it for the first time today and it made me wonder if their striking can fair with kickboxing. Atleast from your opinion. :3
I haven't seen that before but I'll make a note to check it out.
If there's a video to make from it I will get it done.
@@GabrielVargaOfficial ua-cam.com/video/__iNZiHicUw/v-deo.html
I don't know if I'm allowed to post a link of vid here but this is it.
Call it "speed bagging" maybe..
Do Nick
8:59 HE’LL DO WHAT GABRIEL???
another term for giving the middle finger, the meaning changed over the years.
8:58 Nate will do what to the UFC??
How to box like Canelo :) ?
WOw super impressed at how you instantly looked like nate in another body🤣
Haha hell no this was exactly perfect impersonation of a crisp Nate from an "ideal" parallel reality!
looking more muscular
Next video, How to wrestle like Chimaev
He only can teach you striking and lil bit of wrestling or jiu jitsu
@@aonimsworld9106 "Let's wrestle! Let's wrestle! Let's wrestle! Let's wrestle!"
What other fighters did you mo cap for?
It did a lot for McGregor's movements. My brother did Wonderboy.
We chatted about that with Stephen when we met him a few months ago 😆
@@GabrielVargaOfficial My friend always gets me with the McGregor uppercuts and hooks when we play...
Plot twist:how fight like streetfighter
Man please u don't say defence don't matter seeing Nate Diaz with a slurred speech and the fact he has cte breaks my heart. He was my favourite
Was? Fake fans
Tip #1: have long reach
Jake paul watching this rubbing his hands together
Hi. Love your videos. As a hobbyist martial artist I learn a lot
from them. Thank you for taking the time to make and post them. I think the technique you are calling the "hand rumble" is called "Milling" and it comes from bare knuckle boxing (but I'm no expert). Here is a link to a video showing an aged John L. Sullivan, bare knuckle American Champion, playfully doing mock sparring with Jim Corbette, where Sullivan does a lot of "milling": ua-cam.com/video/TwSitRrhQFQ/v-deo.html
