Nice repair! That so much better than throwing the power supply away.
WOW, capacitor magic! Can you come over sometime?
Happy New Years!
Happy New Years!
For my ear, your audio/speech clarity is really great... Crisp, clear, bright... Better than other EE channels... I can hear/listen to you at lower volumes. My guess is that you have a professional mic and active EQ... And that you pulled out a good bit of the 250Hz. You could use a little more low end, below 250Hz. Otherwise, you are ready to announce the next ball game. Kudos.
Thanks! It's mostly filters in OBS doing all the work. But I recently switched my mic from a lapel mic I'd been using back to a headset mic because I didn't like the variation in volume I was getting with the lapel mic. I had to do too much work to the audio before rendering each video, and I wasn't always happy with how they would turn out. The next video is the last one where I still used the lapel mic.
Happy new year TEF
Thank man! Happy new year!
10:20 It does work you just need to throw them a bit harder.
I can see how that could work.
Crushing a resistor = no shame. I have no stones to throw. Bodges were fine. I might have added heat shrink over the portion of the resistor that passes over the second transistor pin... I might have tried super-glue, under the lifted pad... I don't remember seeing that repair... Additionally, I place a towel, or clear plastic sheet, over all new/replaced capacitors, as an explosion shield, for all first power ups.
No, I forgot to show the part where I used the grinder tool to scrape the trace to solder the capacitor lead a bit more securely. It showed in the sped up part for like a second.
Placing something as a blast shield is a good idea. Maybe I'll make something out of plexiglass or something for tests in the future so it's all visible.
