Sofi a I auditioned by video for Vaganova Italy , Istanbul and st pertersburg . I was accepted in 2 out of 3 and still waiting for the third response !
For entrelace remember the second leg that comes around in chaine has to be quick. If the second foot lags at all you lose much of your power. Think about getting both feet down fast (1-2!) and the kick of the brushing leg and the push of the jumping leg is done at the same time. Thinking getting up and off the floor completely in one count. It makes the jump look much lighter and more powerful!
Girl are you a witch? I did the exercise you showed in the video for the splits and now I'm fully flat and i was like a good 15cm off the ground!! Also all of the sudden my middle splits got way better too? I love you soo much thank youuuu💖💖😳👏🏻
Dear Claudia, Good to know is also call “Fish Jump”. As I remember correctly, I had this last month Intensive, called “Italian Jump” or “Italian Chat”. Either one. (I like grand jete even though I am not good)
I think it would be very interesting if you made a video about *partnering tips and tricks!* I find it very hard to split my legs when I am being partnered in a leap, for example, so I'm hoping you could provide some insight! ❤️
My favourite Grand Allegro jump is the Grand jeté en tournant. I loved this video. I will definitely try to apply the corrections the next time I take a class.
Hi Claudia! I absolutely love your videos, as a dancer they are so clear and helpful! I was wondering if you could make a video on isolating the correct turnout muscles especially in steps such as développés etc as I often find I overuse my outer thighs? If you did that’d be so amazing 🥰🩰
It's interesting how the terminology is different. The first one I'd call Grand pas de chat (because the leg goes through developpé, not straight up as in Grand jeté) and the second one Entrelacé. The third one probably a Coupé Jeté, but I'm not sure with that one (and I'm based in Europe with mostly Vaganova-infuenced training).
I am going to try the split exercise with my daughter (I am 42, my daughter is 9)... and we can see how we both improve over one month. Fun experiment! I think my old teacher would turn in her grave about bringing the arabesque leg out to the side a bit, lol [she was very traditional and all about correct technique]. Anyway, thanks from Sacred Valley, Peru where i haven't found a good ballet school yet, so these videos are great.
Hi Claudia, thank you so much for another amazing video i tried these stretches between classes and they really helped. I was wondering if you could make a video on holding developes in the centre and leg stability in centre. Love your videos.
Great tips. Thank you for sharing these. ☺. I find the background music a bit distracting and a bit too loud while Claudia is talking and explaining steps. You are a great teacher Claudia 💖
My studio calls the grande jetes "saut de chat" (then grande jete is when you don't develope your front leg in the jump). Then we call the second one tour jetes and the fish jump extended pas de chat
my favourite Grand Allegro is Grand Jete en tournant ... despite the not brilliantly thought through comment i got fro ma teacher of you do them 'like a guy' ...
Nice content as always!but i really need help or a tip .I stretch nearly everyday to have permanent flexibility(without having to stretch first and do the splits) ,but im constantly sore or injured and i feel stiffer and stiffer everyday .what am i doing wrong its so discouraging ,cause i think my body is not made for this. Also,i feel a sharp pain especially on my hips and they crack A LOT like they kind of unlock or something .I would really really appreciate a tip ,love you💗
Hi Claudia, I love all the tips but I didn't quite understand what I am meant to do in the splits stretch. I am not all the way to the floor yet. Do I ask someone to lift my front foot 10cm even though I am not flat on the floor?
Anna T Yes, I think it might be interesting to see how Claudia instructs less advanced students. Like how she approaches first teaching/introducing those steps and which corrections she might focus on first 🤷🏻♀️
Omg I was accepted into the vaganova summer intensive
Dragonstorygirl aYAY!!! Congratulations beautiful! 😍😍😍😍
So did i !
Why did you write this here?
What audition were you in? I mean which city? I auditioned there by video but havent got the result yet

Helena is awesome! Timeless elegance and grace. She moves so beautifully and effortlessly!
Who else can barely walk without falling but is following along with the video like you can actually do it?
I'm going to go to an audition soon and this is one of the things we need to know, so thank you so much for putting out this video!
Mikayla Grimes good luck

@@SP.Addams Thank you so much for the tips!
I love doing Kitris or firebirds, grand jetés, and tour jetés
Claudia I was just woundering if you would be able to do a video on the best ways late starters can improve their skills.
My ballet school calls those “vis jumps?” Russian pas de chat, or Russian leaps
Indeed : in my ballet school, in which Vaganova's method is used, this step is called "pas de chat russe", too.
Pips The dancer What do you call grande jetes then?
Pips The dancer I know - I was talking about what we call the “vis jump” that Claudia was asking us about, not grande jetes
Girl are you a witch? I did the exercise you showed in the video for the splits and now I'm fully flat and i was like a good 15cm off the ground!! Also all of the sudden my middle splits got way better too? I love you soo much thank youuuu💖💖😳👏🏻

Hi Claudia,
Great tips and video as usual! Thank you 😊
Any tips on how to not get too out of breath in Allegro?
It's interesting how the terminology is different. The first one I'd call Grand pas de chat (because the leg goes through developpé, not straight up as in Grand jeté) and the second one Entrelacé. The third one probably a Coupé Jeté, but I'm not sure with that one (and I'm based in Europe with mostly Vaganova-infuenced training).
same i call the first one a grande pas de chat
Pas de chat are a classic 😍 she is so Soft and a harmonious dancer
Thank you so much for this! I DESPERATELY need help with my allegro! 🥰

Oh and my favourite Grand allegro step is a Grand assemblé (preferably with a half turn) ;)
My absolute favourite jump in grand allegro is jeté entrelacé. I'm totally rubbish at split leaps. 😢😢 I should try these tips to improve.
Great tips definitely going to try
Your videos are so helpful!!

I love grand jétes SO FUN
My studio calls the grande jetes "saut de chat" (then grande jete is when you don't develope your front leg in the jump). Then we call the second one tour jetes and the fish jump extended pas de chat
First Comment!!! Love the video!
my favourite Grand Allegro is Grand Jete en tournant ...
despite the not brilliantly thought through comment i got fro ma teacher of you do them 'like a guy' ...
Try brushing the foot against the floor with the front leg. It's built up kinetic energy!
Also,i feel a sharp pain especially on my hips and they crack A LOT like they kind of unlock or something .I would really really appreciate a tip ,love you💗
Hmm still couldn’t understand what to do if I am not flat in my split as instructed in 06:38.
Please do the daily stretch routine xxxx
In my studio we call the “fish jumps” Italian pas de chats
pas de chat for the "fish jump (?) and entrelacé for the grand jeté en tournant, although, the two don't always coincide!!
Please do a peti allegro version too
i really need to try this stretch but i have no one to hold my foot what do i do?
3rd comment ily sm❤️❤️❤️❤️
Cool
Hi Claudia, I love all the tips but I didn't quite understand what I am meant to do in the splits stretch. I am not all the way to the floor yet. Do I ask someone to lift my front foot 10cm even though I am not flat on the floor?
AriRHen yes you do! It’s the secret to getting flat! 😍😍😍😍😍
What do you do if you don’t have anyone to hold your leg? please reply😭
Grand jete en tournant!
i call it an Italian pad de chat xx
Claudia❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😄
hi Claudia 💕
🙏🙏🙏❤️
Like 231!!
What were you??
Aaaa Claudia you've gotta start using people who aren't so damn good in your instructional videos, it skews my point of reference 🤯
