- When Livia Knipp’s water broke at just 19 weeks of pregnancy, she was given no hope for her baby's survival by their local hospital. Turning to social media to ask for support, an unexpected connection with another mother led her to the University of Iowa. Livia explains, “We have a 0% chance staying [in Des Moines] where they’re literally just going to hand us our baby and let it pass away in our arms, or a 59% chance just two hours away. Such an amazing story!! Thank goodness they learned their options in time, it's too bad their first doctor/hospital didn't tell them about UI Childrens. I'm sure other stories don't end so well unfortunately.
