This would be PERFECT for my 15 minute break in the morning at work. A protein snack is perfect for it, but the protein bars are so much more expensive now. Thank you for this.
I love the idea of a homemade protein bar. Nowadays they’re so expensive, but probably the most convenient quick breakfast for me when I’m short on time. Personally, I would sub 2/3 of the peanut butter for powdered to get a a better protein/fat ratio, but overall a wonderful recipe.
be careful with that, I think most of that peanut butter doubles as a binder. I'd suggest adding maybe half a smushed up banana, definitely not egg tho
Hi @vidatalab8301 can i ask how much of PB powder you used to sub? I just recently bought PB powder and never used it and would very much appreciate a suggestion! :)
I’ve made these twice now and it’s absolutely delicious. I also add 3 tbs of chia seeds and about 1/4 cup of unsweetened coconut for some crunch. This is now a part of my regular meal prep rotation. Also, I store in the freezer!
I read “3 tbs” as “3 lbs” and I can’t stop laughing at the idea of this recipe with three pounds of chia just completely drowning everything else hahaha
Your videos have helped me sooooo much with picking up a regular diet, cooking regularly again & enjoying food while being depressed. Especially how your meals are realistic, nutritious and work with my ibs 😂
I posted a comment with the typed out recipe, and then it's easy to take those ingredients and plug into MyFitnessPal or similar online calculator to do the nutritional facts!
Yeah, I can tell it’s too much sugar and fat to fit easily in my plan. I guess it’s a healthier alternative than a candy bar, but I could have a larger protein bar for fewer calories. Of course, everyone’s goals are different, but I assume since the nutrition info matters to you, you are at least somewhat concerned about macros/calories. I buy Costco‘s Kirkland Signature protein bars. The ingredients and macros are pretty good and they are relatively inexpensive. I think they taste great.
@@maremacd I agree. A quick substitution would be to sub about 2/3 of the peanut butter for powdered to lower the fat. For 6 brownies, comes to 192 cal with 18g protein, which is comparable to the better tasting protein bars out there. And you can always opt out of the chocolate chips to cut the sugar too.
@@maremacdnot sure what ratios you’re aiming for but I don’t eat any added sugar so I made them with sugar free chips, protein powder and syrup, all of which are easily available. The added sugar content was zero :) and they tasted great! The fat was healthy and within normal range of what I need. Don’t know if you want zero fat (?) but usually that’s not a great idea. You do you though. I’m sure you could fool around with it and get it down if you really want to.
She's not vegan so she might just use a whey based one. I really like impact protein though FWIW, they do pea and soy protein, soy would probably be good for this purpose since it's less flavored
I personally love the chocolate Orgain protein powder, it’s the best plant-based chocolate protein powder I’ve tried that doesn’t have a funky taste to it and is genuinely chocolatey
