From my experience using one of these for a few years now, you aren’t using it in the best way. The lens you’ve added onto it is called a macro lens which allows you to focus in much closer on the components. What I do is lay the board flat down, hover over the board with the seek without the macro lens on as this gives you a much bigger coverage of the whole board... when the area of heat shows on the camera, then I add the macro lens to pinpoint the shorted component if it’s not clear enough without the macro lens. Try this way, you’ll find it much better
