The Tasmanian Devils will get more people to their first match than have attended this whole Round of AFLW. Why does it take under a year for the AFL to set up the AFLW but 6 years for the AFL to setup a Tasmanian AFL Team?
Season 1 of the AFLW in 2018 saw an average crowd of 6,828 per match, round one of 2024 saw an average crowd of just 3,272 per match. So why is the media telling us that it is growing? Are they ignorant or just being dishonest?
The AFLW deserves a full-length season and the AFLW players deserve equal pay. The lack of respect the AFL is showing these women is an absolute disgrace.
I approached the Adelaide Crows with money wanting to sponsor an AFLW Crows player, but there is no player sponsorship program for the women. Some AFLW sides have player sponsorships, why not all of them?
@@jameschristiansson3137 The Adelaide Crows have gotten millions of dollars in Government grants from Womens sport. THat is as far as their interest in AFLW goes.
@@YeetboiDed I agree with you 100%. But it was the AFL who had signage that read, and I quote. Gender Equality is equal pay on and off the field. How can the AFL demand equal pay for women then pay then a fraction of what they pay the men? The AFL are the biggest Wokest hypocrites going.
@@adelaidecrowshighlights4413the problem with that is if the women gets paid the same as the men, the league would go bankrupt. They’re still playing at local grounds with low crowd numbers
That would accelerate the development of the women's game, though it would have to be at the expense of the men's salary or other investments in the game more broadly since the women's game generates a fraction of the revenue, if any. So it's not just a matter of sexism, there's dollars and cents and trade-offs at play
@@surfaceenvy5497 The AFLW has actually created a heap of Revenue that benefit AFL Clubs this has come in the form of Government Grants. The reason why Venues like Ikon Park, RSEA Park the Whitten Oval etc ect all have Lights, electronic Scoreboards, upgraded training facilities and new grandstands is because of Womens sports grants. The Clubs have all profited hugely from the AFLW. Considering all the new facilities that women have brought to the game I think it would only be fair that they get higher pay.

Did not expect women playing. I left adelaide 2009 for Kenya.

Not when ur playing like shit
How is equal pay fair when they play shorter games, shorter season, quality isn’t as good and it generates less money eg; crowds, tv revenue??

The difference in payment for AFL male players and AFLW female players is an absolute disgrace. It's time for Gender Equality in the AFL.
