Holy crap, the detail on that mini. It would have taken me weeks to paint that. I love the vibrant colors you picked - and the squib orange was a good touch - I'm not sure if it was face paint either, but I'm guessing it likely was. Face paint wasn't uncommon back then.
haha I was actually surprised how quick it went! I don't tend to pay attention to how long a mini paints, I just paint it the same way regardless so I only see the final time when adding in the recorded video and this one wasn't even my longest Daimyo - and more importantly it *felt* quick too :) Really glad to hear you liked the colors! I was super unsure of the greens and really played around with a purple I liked for the armor but am quite happy with the end result. Certainly not normal for me to be painting so vibrantly! Also agreed on the face paint. In the concept art you can still see some of the normal skin tone and his fingers are normal too, but it pretty much covers his entire face. I think it adds a lot to the uniqueness of the miniature. I haven't looked to see if it's the whole clan or only the Daimyo but either way was pretty fun :)
Really nice job on that mini. I struggle a bit to use green as a main color on a mini, because I can never find the right mix of colors to complement it. I might steal some of thoses color pattern for myself 😏. On a side note, I was surprise to see Babe Blond stand out so well after one pass. My bottle might be bad batch because even on white primer I struggle and need to do 5-6 layers before it kinda look like it should. And thats without watering down.
Thanks! I've had luck with a few yellows and honestly think it's just the luck of the draw on how well it's mixed, especially with AP paints. I did do quite a few coats to cover up the sides that had some green on it, but it was watered down as well. As for the green, by all means take Hemp Rope as a highlight, it's amazing in small doses for a medium green :D
looks good , i think you were talking about 'Color shift' or 'Chameleon' paints. good luck with the new set up! if you have gold you prefer you can cut it with silver/steel( or steel/silver+yellow ink), Happy one year!, have you posted a pic of the set altogether?
I only do for the channel :P let me know if that's not visible but you should be able to see it without an account or anything. Still working in the final setup, ideally I'd have the camera behind me "looking over my shoulder" with a display in front of me but out of the camera shot, something that's proving tricky.
Hey, KoA! Great job! You might try the Vallejo Metal Color from the Airbrush Colors (the bigger bottle with the agitator inside - NOT Vallejo Air in the normal bottles ). Same paler gold color but not so glittery and brushes on better than the regular Vallejo gold.
This mini looks great and the colours have a wonderfully realistic feel.
Thanks a lot Bethany! Glad you liked it :)
This looks super nice!
Oh, new avatar, it's nice. Amazing paintjob, as always, the NMM is truly well done.
I'm glad to hear you like the new channel logo! And the NMM of course :D I think I'm. Getting better at it!

Oh I will definitely look into that! I find the normal gold doesn't thin well either so it's coverage is less than ideal too.
@@TheKingofAverage the Metal Color is already thinned and covers much better!
@@triruns perfect then! That's one of my largest gripes. Do they cover all other normal Vallejo metallic paints?
@@TheKingofAverage There are about a dozen in the line I think, but I've only tried the gold so far.
oh nice! That's a good selection
Super Merci !!!
Glad you liked it Bruno! :) This was a fun one that I was secretly dreading because of the amount of details on it.
Nice NMM man!
Thanks! I saw a lot of improvement for a second attempt :)
yes the NMM is great, again! :) i am a little anxious to see your tenth NMM attempt ... best painters of the world watch out! ;)
Gahaha! Don't have to worry about that :) I do hope to continue improving though! I want to try color reflections and gold as well. It's really fun!
