Hey Stef the Manticore is looking pretty good. Very nice Cordal Bell. Love the 1913 1918 Dog Tax Tags. Dog Tag Duog would love those. The Pencil Sharpener is Beautiful. I would say late 1800s early 1900s. I found one not as Beautiful as yours with a Pat. Date. Late 1890s. Very nice find. Take Care Stef

Thank you! I used the 600 for almost 5 years - the Manticore is just next-level, all the way around. I love how much guesswork has been removed when swinging over a target. I was able to skip tons of bird bands yesterday at a hunt because of the trace - I dug a few for ha ha’s, and sure enough, the Manticore was correct.

Hi ... the pencil sharpener is Victorian..it's a Japanese butterfly style... very popular in Victorian times I found this same one on a beach here in the UK

I never leave Zincoln signals - they could be half dimes, half reales, really good buttons (my GW rang up like a Zincoln)… the possibilities out here are endless! 😆
I've been detecting this one field for 18 years... I found an IHP and three wheats just this year and silver last year. Trust me you're going to surprise yourself for years to come. I 💯%10:45 is an ornate pencil sharpener. It was a thing to have a nice one back then if you were in school, like harmonicas or almost like iphones of the time I hope you find much more at all your old sites. 😁 Happy Hunting! 🙂
Well done Stef for exposing the hype and none sense manufacturers publish about the abilities of their machines. So many targets did not match the machines I.d. Basically if it beeps, dig it.
I have to say, now that I’ve been getting used to the Manticore, I’m really understanding what it’s trying to tell me. The target IDs did match what I dug, however I will agree that the target trace was wonky for the bell. I’m sure it’ll make more sense as we all come to understand how the 2D screen works!
Oh no! Those uniform buttons are so brittle, my friend who used to live in the South and hunt CW once told me he watched a button disintegrate in his hands. 😞

I've seen them! Watch Dig That Beep, they often find steel pennies in the hole with wheaties.
