I also did a quick review of it and also answered a bunch of questions from the L5P Facebook pages toward the end of the video. I was so happy when I put mine in and made videos showing people on Facebook. I just took it out two weeks later… half of the stuff on there didn’t even work and it’s a nightmare to get a hold of customer service. I’m taking it up as a loss, but it looks cool once its there. Congrats to the people that unit does work

Ok. I've head this unit now for a couple of weeks and it was a nightmare of a process. I finally have it working the way I wanted but wanted to share my $0.02. NOTE: I would definitely keep your OEM unit. While I'm content (not 100% happy), there are enough problems you may want to go back.
First, I only wanted this unit to add Wireless Apple CarPlay to my 2017 2500 HD. I paired this with a new, iPhone-compatible wireless charging pad. The good:
- No more wires
- Backup camera works fine
- SiriusXM works fine
- Climate Control features all mostly work as expected (more on this later).
The bad:
- Vendor appears to be Chinese even if based in Canada. If you need support you can expect at most one email from them per day and it's very clear English is their 2nd language which lead to all sorts of communication problems on their part.
- I have one extra camera, the cargo (bed) camera which I use occasionally to hook-up my 5th wheel. This isn't working. The author of this video claims he got his OEM cameras working but hasn't explained how. @CollaGoUnLTD if you get time please reply with how you did this.
- If you are going to use Wireless Apple CarPlay you will want to tell your phone to "forget" the Chevy MyLink Bluetooth device. If you don't this will cause issues with sound not working (this head unit doesn't like to share Bluetooth with the OEM device). This means you can't use the steering wheel control for Siri voice commands. My workaround is I now use "Hey Siri" option on my phone. I actually like this better than the buttons. NOTE: Volume controls work just fine.
- If you ever have to upgrade the firmware (I did to fix bugs with Wireless Apple CarPlay). Be sure to use a USB thumb drive that has a light that let's you know when the drive is in use. I have a all-in-one USB-C and USB-2 thumb drive that works fine but this system didn't recognize it. I got a cheap Memorex 32GB drive from Target that works fine.
- When you upgrade your firmware, I recommend that you also do a factory reset. Not ideal but I had to do this to get Wireless Apple CarPlay working properly. Of course, doing this reset all the setting (back-up camera, date/time, units, etc). Not a big deal but still not fun.
- Climate Control is off. The physical buttons don't work for me. I have to use the screen and for whatever reason the system doesn't always remember my last settings. Specifically I have my truck always set to "Auto" and this system often forgets this (not always).
- Finally, once you get it working, DON'T MESS WITH ANYTHING. The system and related settings are fickle if not fragile. If you get it working I would avoid any firmware upgrades unless you have a problem that the upgrade may fix.
My problem with my CarPlay in my 2017 Chevy 1500, it doesn’t connect all the time, but I reset the radio and CarPlay start back connecting… would that be the issue because I haven’t deleted my Chevy link… my opinion the factory mic is better than the unit itself
@@49ersallday57 upgrade the firmware (they had a new release last week), then do a factory rest. That fixed my reconnection issues with CarPlay

For those ones fighthing with camera Issues it took me months figured out. Is a cable there that's come with your radio with 2 yellow terminals in one side (like the VGA cables) and a square on the other site. One of the yellow is going to the yellow cable on the radio, the one is "for extra cameras" and the other yellow to the red one. The square is going to original harness. And that's it.
What wire are you talking about. My camera is not working
@@Trilla_ I guess depend on the car. In my case my kit comes with a yellow cable similar to the one is used for vga connections.

All funtions work, sound from stereo, USB, bluetooth (this is only in console mode), backup camera, doors open show up, phone calls (in console mode), everything looks good. But I can't get sound from my navigation system (That is the main reason why I bought it). It not only makes no sound but the media playing doesn't mute. It tracks well, but there is NO sound. Nothing from outside "console mode" play any sound, and I cant make phone calls. I think the installed software made this all possible, but I accidentally erased it. Can I get a copy of the 2 APKs? If that is the fix.
I just installed it and worked great! Just one question for the community. How do you get the an after market front camera to work? The rear works find.

Thanks for this video its great! Did you get to confirm if the dimmer for the button lights still works? Also can you get the color of the buttons to perfectly match the stock ones?
Play videos while driving? Does the onstar and Bose system work? Does it have any amp pre outs for aftermarket amps and subs etc.?
Yes you can play videos while driving and the OnStar and Bose System do work. And it does have amp outputs. My truck has the Bose system and I already had installed an aftermarket sub and amp that I had used a LOC to connect it and it’s still functions great so I didn’t mess with rewiring my setup.
Do the radio play louder than the factory radio and if it does how loud of a difference
Ive got so many issues ive had it for 3 months and it has never worked correctly im trying to get them to respond on if i can return it since ive been calling and emailing since day one and im now getting no response. It has so many little.quirks to it that if someone else was to drive my truck they would never figure it out. Backup camera works 50 % of the time it will.just change screens driving for no reason. Its now turning my a/c off air keeps blowing but not cold i can hit the button it comes.back on but the list of things that it does is really to long for me to list i have only kept it this long because i went with the black unit and like an idiot i went and bought all the black replacements.for the gold interior before this came in and i really like my new black interior. Im now having trouble.getting them to respond now that i mentioned returning it so we will.see

I've been eyeing this unit for a while but was waiting on 1 important thing.... Intellihaul compatibility. If you figure out how to get your 360 camera system to work please update us. It does look amazing! I do have 2 questions. 1. Does it have connections that connect to the truck USB ports? Does it havw connections to connect to the factory microphone? Thanks
Hopefully they can figure out the IntelliHaul system but not holding my breath. I have not tried connecting directly to the usb ports yet, and the factory mic does work automatically.
@@CollaGoUnLTD that's awesome that the factory mic works. This is the first Tesla style screen that does. Gives me hope they might get the 360 cameras working
I'm going to jump in here as I have the same unit in my '17 Denali 3500. All of the factory USB ports still work, but you really don't need to use them with this unit. The USB dongle that Autotecpro sends with the unit are used for future updates to the unit, and for USB thumb drives with files that you want to access with the new unit. I've got a bunch of videos on a thumb drive that I play on the screen once in awhile. And yes, the factory mic works as it should.
@@John-yy4pe the installation video that Autotecpro made said the CD/DVD player had to stay installed. I’m not using the navigation (GPS) that came with the unit. I use Waze through CarPlay.
It’s draining my battery. Is there any way I can stop it from draining the battery?

Can you use the factory roof antenna and factory ceiling microphone with this?
My system is set to sleep mode (fast reboot) and everytime i turn on the car the live wallpaper reverts back to default static wallpaper of the unit, how can we set it to remember live wallpaper selection?

I haven’t tried plugging usb in to test Apple CarPlay, I’ve just been utilizing the wireless Apple CarPlay that it offers.
The USB's work for power and your phone will show up under Console when you hit the Media button but wired Apple CarPlay will not work. You'll need to use the wireless Apple CarPlay ("CarAuto") on the new system.

2016 silverado 8" w/ rear entertainment. Radio sounds great but anything played connected through the stereo crackles in the speakers. Have you had any issues like that? Aux dummy is plugged in.

Settings > system > factory settings > original car with amplifier setting from 30 to 0 > save and reboot
I purchased this same radio and the LDVS cable and Sound box line cable were missing. Are they crucial for it to work properly? The radio turns on and everything but it won’t display sound through the speakers. I am not able to hear anything so I was wondering if those cables have to do with it
I used all the harnesses mine came with so id imagine you’ll need those for it to function properly. I’d reach out to the company to get the missing components.
Having an issue with Bluetooth. I’m all paired but I don’t have it as a setting in the dash to go over to Bluetooth and when I play music on car play I don’t hear my own music. I also can’t see my camera when in reverse
Same here…very quirky radio with little support for non technical folks
Are you able to dim the screen for driving at night? With a screen that size I would think it might blind the driver somewhat

I have the same system all works except sim card is not recognizing and next and previous seek buttons on left side of steering wheel doesnt work, can you help?
Not sure about the SIM card. You have to install the steering wheel adapter. You have to try the 2 different connecting points on the radio harness to see which one works for you.
@@kawi32 update: i connected the steering harness, and then connected the point the the screen, and it started working, and exactly after two minutes, my steering button on original car stopped working ( no buttons ) , then i removed the battery terminal and reset the car and it came back to life, then again one more time i connect the harness and same issue worked for two minutes amd then all the steering buttons stopped responding, and had to remove battery and reset the car, i have also noticed that my original connector in steering column has 8 wires going to big connector, and the wire that came with screen has 10 wires.
Maybe try a master reset on the radio? I didn’t run into that issue with mine. Maybe try not connecting or connecting the main cream colored adapter to the original radio? I’m assuming you tried it without the steering wheel adapter too

If you are taking about that connects with a harness from the original box to the android screen?, yes thats already connect before i did the steering adapter. @@kawi32 all worked has to just remove the trucks battery in order for it to not hang when switching adapters. Thanks alot man for you help, one last thing you mentioned in your video that you were able to change wallpapers, can you explain please?
Does your heated seat option work when you try turning it on on the touch screen? If so what settings did you apply to make it work?
That is one thing I I haven’t figured out how to make work, but my normal heated/ventilated buttons still function properly.
It being an IO 6. Do ALL the steering wheel controls work without you have to do any wiring in the steering column.?
On mine, with an iO6, I'll need to install the steering wheel harness for forward/back.
I had a linkswell steering wheel control installed prior but it doesn't seem to be compatible.
Works with the stock blue tooth connection but that doesn't play well with Apple Car Play for this unit with calls and texts so I had to forget that connection.
I am assuming there is a split screen option... Like playing a video on say the top half, and navigation on the bottom?
I have not come across a split screen option yet.

I had to switch my truck to Aux on the steering wheel for the sound to work. Did you have that issue.
I had to do the same thing. Seems ridiculous it doesn't just work while paired with the phone like the stock unit. Sounds seems low quality as well . Any ideas to get to work normally?
Does netflix fill the entire screen, mine does but since it's up and down I only see the center. Do you have a fix?
Do the pinch and zoom gesture (but the opposite direction to shrink it) to the screen and it will shrink the screen size to be able to view the whole movie.
So you can fill the full 14” screen with a movie?
In the video what did u use for the internet ? Phone hot spot work well ? Can you do mirroring with a phone ?
Used phone hotspot, no mirroring that I can find, but maybe an app for that option?
DO NOT use your phone's hotspot if you want to use wireless Apple CarPlay. No, you can't do mirroring.
Hi, I just bought my screen. but I think I had one of the same problems as you. I have watched your video several times and I think you do not mention how you fixed the problem of entering the original menu. Mine freezes when I start the agency menu. even the reverse camera freezes the same way. Could you help me to know how you fixed the problem with the rear camera?
Is there an ajustment for the consol picture. On comsol the top stereo view its shifted to the right of thr screen and i need to adjust it to thr middle

Maybe you can help me with a couple issues that I have. When I changed to reverse the screen said no signal. When I scroll the volume up or down instead change the radio station. Can you direct me to the right point. At this point I'm so frustrated with this.
Im not a tech savvy person or wifi expert. Ive had this head unit for about a month and i havent figured out how to get the Internet to connect to this thing yet , away from my house wifi. Any help ?
If you are away from your home, you either need to use your phone as a hotspot or purchase a wifi package like through AT&T or whatever service is in your area, easiest thing to do is use your phone as hotspot.
one thing I'm still struggling with is keeping the unit connected to my phone via wireless CarPlay as well as having a hotspot connected to the unit so my kids can watch online streaming via split screen. It seems to only want to be connected to one thing at a time. have you found a way to be connected to both at the same time?
Are your 4G and GPS antennas getting good reception in that spot so far?
Yes, no issues so far, seem to be working great where they’re mounted.
Does it have the ability to change the car to truck in doors open image and reverse screen car image?
Does your signal light sound terrible? I installed a unit with similar hardware and the small speaker in my farm truck. The sound of the signal light is terrible as well as the seatbelt alarm

When I go to console. It shows a blank screen. I can’t see the radio or anything. I see all the normal buttons but top of screen completely blank? Also I can see my Apple music on the screen but it continues to play the radio and will not play the music from my phone?
What do you mean about the "higher end system" in regards to the steering wheel contols?
Depending on what stock infotainment center you have you may or may not need the steering wheel control harness adapter
I have a 2016 GMC Denali with the rear entertainment system screen in the backseat. If anyone has figured out how to get that screen to works with this or what you are using that backseat screen for, please give me shout.. Thanks..
So if you double tap the Home button on the Radio screen, it doesn't open the intelihaul system?
Tried that and nothing happened. I think it’s a programming thing that autotec would have to adjust or write…who knows if they’ll ever do that though.
Do the Denali gauges function as normal or do you lose any features with this install. The media selection, the phone contact searches, the radio and xm favorites, do they all work?
Not sure which gauges you mean specifically. You can get to the crappy OEM interface to do the media select, contacts, etc. That said, I don' t pair my iPhone with the truck itself because this causes audio issues when using Wireless Apple Carplay. Which doesn't bother me a bit because I have Sirius, Google Maps, etc installed so I can access it with CarPlay. Guessing the same could be said for Andriod Auto but I don't have an Andriod device.
I have a question on the install of the AutoTec Pro 14.4 radio, can the DVD player be remove, since it will not used.
If you mean the cd player, no. I removed mine and there was no detection of a sound system in the truck. I put it back in and corrected that problem. It has to be there for the truck itself even though it isn't used.
@@denniscanfield2299 and be sure you eject any CD that may be in it before you do the install (I forgot I had one in it and had to disassemble to remove it)
I bought and installed this unit and its great... except the sound output. I have a pronounced ground loop (whine/buzz/static) that gets louder with RPM of the engine. It is related to the Aux input on the factory radio (that the tablet uses for sound to the truck). I am trying to diagnose it now. Has anyone run into this problem with this unit and found a fix?
How does the tablet hold up in the heat? Worried about dog days of summer…
It held up great all summer in 100° interior temps without any issues

Any idea whether the camera options on their site provide higher quality images than the stock reverse camera?
It shows they offer higher def cameras, but I did not opt for them so I don’t know how much better they would be.

Did you ever hook up a SIM card to yours? Just got mine and it’s a pain that I have to reconnect my Bluetooth if I’m using let’s say UA-cam on the table and want to go back to car play.
Does this radio show the vehicles speed as well as the rpm like Phoenix Audio 12.1 radio does?
have the same unit was wonder where to get the latest firmware update for it.
How do you get service to that unit?
I use my phone hotspot but it does come with a SIM card reader to add one of you want to go that route. I have not tested it to see how well that works though.
I have a 2015 Sierra with Bose system. The only way I can get sound is to connect to the factory bluetooth. How did you get sound without having to go through bluetooth if the factory system?
Did you plug the aux dummy cable override into your center console and change your stereo to AUX?
Same issue, yes I have plugged the dummy cable into the center console. Enables AUX as an option to select through the steering controls, but no audio on multiple android/built in apps that I have tested.
FM/AM, Sirius radio, Bluetooth, CarPlay works fine.
Did you ever figure this out? I have no audio and no option for aux in my original screen.

Anybody know anything about this company? Specifically how good their customer support is. I see a similar (small 12" unit) on Carsoll and it sounds like they are pretty good to work with if you run into any installation problems but not sure about Autotec. I like the idea of a bigger 14" screen. Also, what's the warranty on these?
Answering my own question. The product ships out of Canada but I can tell you the units have strong Chinese ties. That doesn't bother me at all but I will be posting an update about the service because I have 2 remaining issues that are deal-killers for me so either they'll have to work with me to figure our what I'm doing wrong or be willing to handle a refund.

If you installed the extension harness for the power cord.. 750 in the video, u have to remove it. Then go to sertings>settings guide>car protocol. Password is 666888 change the first setting to VGA. Save and reboot
@@joebagodonutz He may also need to go to Settings->System->Factory, enter the code 7890 and be sure to set the camera format properly.
What does the extension power cord harness look like have trouble with back up camera

@@CollaGoUnLTD did they give you steering wheel control wire connectors for the skip forward backward function? I noticed on the video you havent installed anything for that part since all the other tesla style brands require installation was wondering if this system requires that aswell
@@CollaGoUnLTD my 2017 HD Silverado Using CarPlay the volume buttons (right side of steering wheel) work but not the buttons on the left. My truck was prewired just fine so I didn't need their connector.
@@StyleOverPolitics My 2017 already had the wires but they ship with the control wires if you need them
I would be interested to know if there’s a “dark mode” option for the screen or if the dimming feature with the scroll wheel would work while the running lights were on. I don’t think the scroll wheel will work with the factory dash when it’s daytime so that may make a difference. Let me know if you don’t mind
I own a unit and it does have the dark mode and light mode I personally like the dark mode option better
The factory scroll wheel for dimming the gauges still dims the dash and heated seat backlights, does not control anything to do with the new Android panel.
There is a dark mode which I use by default (looks better, IMHO). The dimmer wheel in the dash will not control this unit at all.
Hello, thx for the video, I have a question, my Netflix’s plays but I don’t have any sound from any video, do I have to have the auxiliary cable installed for the video audio to work?

Do you have an OEM camera? What year is your truck.
Assuming this is an OEM backup camera you will have to go to Settings->System->Factory Settings, enter the code 7890 and then change the very first camera option. I can't remember the acronyms they had for the settings by for my 2500HD I had to use the one that began with a capital "Y".
Has anyone done this install on a 2500 or 3500 with several factory camera views? Side view, bed view, forward view, etc? Curious if it will display the other views aside from a standard back up camera. Please comment if you have any input on this! 2020 Silverado 3500 High Country if that matters

Hello. I'm just starting with this screen. But if still in need go to settings/system/ factory settings/enter your admin code/reversing video format menu/ change to VGA/save and reboot. My problem is I can only see the guide lines not video coming for my rear back camera.
When you watch movies. Is it full screen?
Yes, all you have to do is pinch the screen to adjust the size
Does the hands free microphone still work with the phone?
Yes
Is this device able to do screen mirroring?
Do you use wireless Apple CarPlay or wired. I can't get my wireless to work consistently.
Make sure you're disconnected from your stock radio bluetooth connection and it should work.
I had the same issue until I realized the problem.
Now, I can make calls from Apple Car Play.

@@user-xq6ht6km5b I believe the unit connects to your iPhone's WiFi through it's own WiFi connection.
If I want to connect to the internet via the unit, I can connect the unit to my truck's built in WiFi, but, then, since the unit is disconnected from my phone's WiFi, Apple Car Play will not work so I only do that occasionally.
The connection for Car Play is not like your typical WiFi internet connection, but, instead, just a local WiFi between your iPhone and the unit while your iPhone continues to use your carrier connection (usually 5G these days).
So I have the same but I’m having a problem with my back up camera not coming on any ideas

On your console emulator app did you switch it to AUX mode and plug in the little 3.5mm dongle into your armrest console jack next to the usb port?

How old new is this screen ?
So when you get it installed you have the home button which gives you the top navigation. For 95% of us we only want a few things: 1) Console (for OEM features), 2) Bluetooth (for connecting/disconnecting devices) 3) Settings and 4) CarAuto (for Andriod Auto and Apple Carplay). Anybody figured out how to eliminate all the other options so I don't have to do the horizontal swipe?
I installed mine last weekend. Maps and everything work great, but I can't get any sound from the unit. The radio works, as it uses the truck's radio receiver. From what I'm finding online, it may be an issue with the unit not switching on my factory Bose amp (the truck DOES switch it on for the radio) I didn't receive an aux dummy cable, so have no option to switch to aux on the unit. I'm going to contact tech support when I get a chance to take it back off and take some pictures.
I had no camera or sound. I have a 2016 1500 z71 without rear entertainment. If u email them, ask them for the links to the guides on ther website. The guide says if the cameras not working, dont use the extension harness for the main power. Its black on one end and blue on the other and one corner is angled and its about 4 or 5 inches long. If u used it, remove it. If that dont work the settings under settings> system> settings guide, the car ac protocol can be changed according to your vehicle ans the camera can be changed to vga format. Its the first option once u put in the password default 7890. To access the factory settings page under settings>system>factory settings, the password is default 666888. Also, i had no sound. The headphone dongle jack must be plugged into the senter console port. Once thats in go the icon that says console and select aux or media until you see your phone, providing your BT is paired and connected.. but... heres what i did and it took me a week to figure it out.. when i removed my factory radio, i deleted the MyChevy from my bluetooth list. Well i reinstalled my factory radio, and paired it again. Then took the factory radio out and reinatalled the android unit and the bluetooth needs to be connected to the mychevy and the android unit. Wont work unless they are both connected.. i uninstalled android auto from my phone because u almost dont even need it with this unit. Maybe for msgs and calls but thats not important to me so i just use the music from my phone. And then once both bt are connected, play some music from your phone and click on the BT music icon to bring it up on the screen. I now have sound, and with the equalizer thats installed on the unit, the sound is amazing. So dont give up. Its a beautiful unit, it does work. I was on fire cuz i had no beats for a week or a camera. I was on fire.. but i kept tryin then they gave me the link to the guides which the password to see the guides is auto123 wen u go the website. They really could save a lot of negative feedback and angry customers cuz it aint cheap lol if they put a paper version in the box.. hope it helps. But if not read the troubleshooting guide. It might be a lil different depending on the year and model. I hope you all pass it on cuz you know exactly how frustratimg it is wen they say works right out the box. Or plug and play.. amd it dont work.. good luck everyone! Once its working youre gonna love it. I promise! The cable that needs to be plugged into the headphone jack inside the center console is just a lil black headphone jack. It has to be in. Its like 2 inches long. Thers a spot between the two usb ports in the center armrest console.
@@joebagodonutz Thanks so much for the info! I took a video of how it's behaving and emailed customer service this morning. Still waiting for a reply. My camera works perfectly. I do need Android Auto, because I use it for navigation. Unfortunately with no sound coming from the unit, voice cues from the navigation aren't working. I do have the phone connected to both the unit and the truck via bluetooth. I'll let you know how I make out.
@@joebagodonutz Got it working! I DID have the aux dongle. I didn't realize it was that little 2" extension cord. I assumed that was just an extension for the mic. When I got home from work I grabbed it and plugged it in and switched to "aux" on the console and it worked flawlessly! I sure wish they would send some instructions with these units! Thanks sooo much for your help!!

@@TURTLEBITCHES41 just plug the little 2 inch "extension cord" into the truck's aux port in the center console, go to the console feature on the stereo and change the media to "aux" and the sound from the head unit is played.
Uh, so you can’t use the existing GPS antenna? I have a 2017 2500HD. Same question for Cellular antenna! Seems like that would save a ton of space and a few steps
Your existing GPS antenna will work for your stock navigation system if you use it under the "console" GM screen.
@@Islander416 Yeah, so I never use that. So the supplied GPS antenna must be used. Glad I just added it while I had it torn apart.
I have a 2017… just want to make sure. I’ve bought flip mirrors that flip the mirrors in when hitting my alarm… but they always seem to pop a dude or something… why I’m sketchy in buyin electronics

Can anyone explain where to install the steering wheel control on a 2018 Chevy? So my buttons will work.
You have to remove the steering console surround plastic and it’s a plug on the underside of the column that it goes inline.

How do I get this device to automatically sync Bluetooth for some reason it only syncs up when I hit the console button if I don’t sync on console I have no sound.

Read my comment I just posted. Short answer is yes but there are enough caveats it may be a turnoff. I'm totally ok now and enjoy wireless Apple CarPlay (the main reason I wanted this unit).
Save your time and effort believe me they're junk!

Yes it does, I run an infinity shallow 12”sub with the factory Bose System and this screen.

Yes you can. You can split the screen and use both.
Does it show the outside temp still?
Yes, it still works
The system works perfectly but it keeps switching to the Bluetooth of the truck radio and switches to the car play . The car play quality little different to the original system . And with car play the forward and reverse buttons don’t work from steering . What’s the best way to have the system set for Bluetooth and sound quality ?
“Forget” the Bluetooth network on your phone for your truck, so it only auto connects to the new radio. You need to install the harness for the steering wheel to get the skip song buttons to work.

@@CollaGoUnLTDwhat about the sound quality. The sound playing music through Pandora via CarPlay is not near as powerful as the radio. I’ve turned up the amp on the factory settings and anything over 15 starts to crackle. Have you found a fix for this?
Go to sound settings and click sound gain, turn everything to 15
I just install mine today, but I hit a problem, when I press the bottoms of the volume to go down or up, it doesn’t works, instead of that just change the song
