  • In this car flipping video I had a hard time getting this car to start and stay on. Car flipping is a lot harder than it seems to be. But we go this!

    We went from the Holy Grail to this 😅 Hope the fix doesn't cut deep into the profit

    spray a whole can of intake cleaner into the bank1 sensor2 hole. put o2 back in, crank and let idle. Might have to crank a couple times until it clears out.

    It'll be the intake VVT sprocket. I just did one on an IX35. The dowel pin had detached from it inside the camshaft and it was rotated slightly from its normal position. The car also had a completely blocked cat as the previous owner had driven it around for 30k kms with the engine light on 🤣
    P0016 is an intake timing code. After I changed the intake cam sprocket / timing chain and put a good cat in the car drove mint with no codes. Another way to verify if this is the issue is to look at the live data in the ECM. Monitor the intake and exhaust cam timing and see if its meeting its targets. If the intake one seems stuck (not moving) this means its too far out of its operating range and will be the issue. Hope you're up for a timing chain job. It's really not too hard on these cars, don't need any special tools either.
    The main reason this happens is the oil seals on the timing chain cover shrink and the oil pressure feeding those VVT solenoids you thought were the issue isn't optimal, so buy 2 new o-ring oil pump seals as well. The oil pump is attached the inside of the timing chain cover.

    Was really hoping that quick swap and start up was the fix. Too bad. I used to run to a wrecker for my sensors/parts. Worked for me many times. Certain parts had to be new though. I don’t mess around with brakes and shit though. Waiting for part two!

      That’s a good idea! Junk yards probably have oem parts. Hopefully we get this thing going man see you in part two lol. Thanks for watching

    To test a clogged cat. Pull the upstream 02 sensor and if it runs better its clogged. But sounds like over advanced timing. Skipped chain or bad actuator is possible but p0075 usually points to a circuit fault, open/short.

    Blocked catalyst converter/ exhaust ? Is the exhaust blowing ? , best way to test is to remove manifold

    • @flippingcarsforfun
      @flippingcarsforfun  9 місяців тому +2

      Seems to be blowing. But I will definitely look into it for sure! It does have the code for the cat. Thanks man! I will keep you posted.

      Also if I remove the manifold should it run right? Is that basically the test? Thanks

    Needs plugging into a proper computer the codes you have got are typical of the timing being to far advanced or retarded this would be caused by the solenoids that you showed you may need proper diagnostics if a re learn is required .. also to add in my experience the p0420 code with your symptoms and other codes wilo be down to the engine running poorly

      Awesome! Thanks for the advice man. Hopefully I don’t have to change the cat. Let’s see what happens when I change the other solenoid hopefully it works if not we will have to get it in an advanced computer for sure! Appreciate it
