Beautiful tribute. KG is a trip. The day Kobe died I had been watching his defensive highlights before my adult league game. When I got to the gym, we met at half court and prayed together and gave respect to Kobe and his daughter. It was a gym full of grown men, 35+ crying like children. It's weird to say you felt like you knew someone you'd never met but Kobe was like that. I remember when he came out of high school and followed his entire career. I even played against T-Mac in high school when he was with Mount Zion. Kobe and T-Mac were like brothers is how I viewed them. Big bro/Little bro. RIP Kobe.
The night before I couldn’t sleep so I was cooking and watching the lakers highlights where lebron passed Kobe in points and was thinking how dope that was.. who knew a few hours later he’d be gone 🥺
Right after he passed we got to watch the last dance with MJ and Kobe at all star game and it showed Kobe talking about him telling everyone what we already guessed was when Kobe said he got so much advice from Michael Jordan and he doesn’t get those 5 rings without him! It gave me the chills hearing him admit it. So epic 🫡 to the biggest idol I’ve never met.
What you talkin about he surpassed him just because of the effect he had on people and the influence that he had on people that's what make Kobe different than the other greats it wasn't just about basketball it was about life

I never made the NBA. But I will share my Kobe story. It’s May of 1997. I was a junior in high school. I live in Utah and was a big Jazz fan. We had watched the Jazz-Lakers game the night before when they matched up in the playoffs. We had a 2 weeks left before school let out for the summer. My friends and I would always hit the gym at 5:30-6 to play hoops before school started. We get to the high school, and hear gyms closed. We’re like, what, why, gym is never closed. We hear the ball bouncing so we know someone is in there. We left but knowing the school, we knew a back way into the gym. We go in, and there is Kobe, in his Lakers uniform, sweating profusely, putting up shot after shot after shot. We left, I turned to my friends and said, this dude is going to special. To come back after a loss the night before, and put up that many shots, and be sweating like he was at 5:30 AM, I’d never seen before. I have always said this. I hate the Lakers, but I have the upmost respect for their organization, and the upmost respect for Kobe. He broke my heart to many times to count, but his drive, determination, work ethic, was second to none.
Thank you for putting this together! Kobe was less gifted compared to MJ, but he maximized his potential with his dedicated working ethic and determination-driven mentality to end up as THE CLOSET thing to MJ. To me, it was a honor to watch MJ playing because he was a phenomenon, but it was a privilege to watch Kobe playing because he inspired me so much to pursue whatever in my life to its fullest. Kobe Bryant will always be my goat. Rip Mamba
I still remeber that RAPE case/trial about him,it stained his legacy as an nba player. How do you end up in that situation ??? He was supposed to be so-SMART. Was thinking with the-WRONG-head.
@user-be7tc2bd6e u mean the one confirmed to be a false whistle blower just a white woman trying to ruin a black man as usual and he overcame that to still be cemented as second best argument for first in history u can take ur uneducated self on somewhere
How great Kobe already is he was just getting started once he retired the knowledge and the availability he gives people to mentor them is insane still hurts that he’s gone too soon..

Great video I'm a life long Lakers fan and Kobe and Magic are my 2 favorite players ever. The day Kobe and Gigi died I broke down like a baby. Now being a Lakers fan in Utah early on especially the air ball game it was rough but when Kobe came of age it was a masterpiece of beauty and grace and heart and determination and failure and ultimately success. Damn Shaq I remember when Tex Winter suggested that diesel develop a 12ft to 17ft jump shot in that range add another level to his game Shaq blew him off leading to the tension between Kobe and Shaq. Imagine if Shaq would have had 15% of kobes heart and work ethic how many chips they would have won
Just watching this! Thanks guys! Loved it. We lost a gem/treasure and are thankful for the time we had. Love your show! Matt, love your commentary when you're doing analysis. Always real and spot on!
Forever reppn Bean man...I can remember the early 2000s I used to argue with dudes in my platoon in the Army everyday and say man he damn near better than Mike...of course they would contest my theories but man listen Kobe matured into a incredible teacher and we can apply his mentality in any portion of life. Continued prayers out to his family and friends, and all the families from the tragic incident. S/o to MB and Stack for the compilation, I love how ya always make sure we hold "Bean" in the highest regard possible, he earned that shit...KING KOB...Legendary...#LakerNation
Every Time I tried to See the Lakers Play back When They had Shaq, Rick Fox, Horry, Fisher, Glen Rice, Devin George, B Shaw, Kobe and That Team, It was a Sellout and I couldn't get in the Gym here in Detroit. So After 4 Seasons later or so, I Finally Saw Kobe Play in Person for the First Time Later in His Career With Coach Phil, Pau, Odom, Fisher, Meta, Kobe, That Team. I didn't See Kobe Warm Up before the Game, He came out and Made Every Shot I Seen Him Take, and Had 30 Points against Tracy McGrady, Ben Wallace, and the Pistons in just 3 quarters Up by 30, and Phil Jackson Sit Him For The Entire 4th quarter. The Lakers Won that Game Big Time and They Were Chanting MVP in Detroit. Kobe was A Relentless, Tenacious, Talented Basketball Player. He was A Hard Working, No Nonsense, and Serious Talent. The Man Just Hated To Lose Basketball 🏀 Games, Period.
Glad I stumbled onto this video! Being a Kobe fan at 48 watching him since he was 17 this tribute really meant a lot to me! We definitely lost a great one! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you guys. This was wonderful and needed. I love hearing his stories from different players and giving him his flowers. He will always by my hero RIP Kobe and Gigi.
Kobe basically raised me my pops didn't hoop I made varsity from watching him and ray Allen on ESPN classics back in the day . When he died I cried like I lost my dad the impact he made is incredible thank you Kobe 🙌🏾
I’ve been a Lakers fan since the days of Big E, The Logo and Wilt. There are two days I will never forget. The day Magic held the HIV press conference and the morning I was watching the KTLA news and the flash came across about the chopper Mamba and Gia were in crashing. No one should ever have to hear one of those things in a lifetime. Twice is still unbelievable.

Their will never be another MJ , Kobe, or Prince . They are and were a 1 of 1.

Thank You Beautiful Tribute to Kobe #mambaforevet #legend
Thank you for posting this Matt and Stack. It brought tears to my eyes at work 😢 we miss you kobe 🤲🏾🌹
RIH Mamba....You are definitely missed. My favorite player.
The day Kobe and his daughter and the others passed way . Was tough , hard to believe it’s been 3 years
Thank you for putting this together!
😢 shed so many tears about this .. 🙏🏾 RIP Bean thank you for your enchanted memories on everyone..
Born and raised in Sacramento, it was so great going to war against the Lakers, Kobe was amazing. /salute.
Matt and Steph are very special. Thank you for this...KoBe is the Second Best Player of all time...Hisssss Mamba

How great Kobe already is he was just getting started once he retired the knowledge and the availability he gives people to mentor them is insane still hurts that he’s gone too soon..

$22k bill dinner is one of the best story. I love Kobe…
Kobe ain’t never gone till he is forgotten, and we never will.
This was well put together fellas! Thank you, we needed this hour video! Respect to the 🐐!!
Great tribute fellas. Rest in peace Kobe and Gigi.
I can just imagine Kobe hissing in a player’s face in the middle of a game, that story had me in tears!😂
Wowwwwwww, beautiful, awesome tribute to Kobe Bean Bryant r.i.p. 8/24💜💛
Thanks Matt & Steph. RIP KOBE
They knew we’d watch the whole way through. Threw in so many ads!!! 😂😂😂
Kobe basically raised me my pops didn't hoop I made varsity from watching him and ray Allen on ESPN classics back in the day . When he died I cried like I lost my dad the impact he made is incredible thank you Kobe 🙌🏾
MAMBA MENTALITY 🖤🙏
I’ve been a Lakers fan since the days of Big E, The Logo and Wilt.
There are two days I will never forget. The day Magic held the HIV press conference and the morning I was watching the KTLA news and the flash came across about the chopper Mamba and Gia were in crashing.
No one should ever have to hear one of those things in a lifetime.
Twice is still unbelievable.
Thank you for doing this. Kobe had so much more to offer the world besides basketball.
