This man played with the Bad Boy Pistons. Only to leave and wind up with arguably the best team of all time. Then after that somehow gets to join Kobe and Shaq for their first chip together. What a career!!
YOU SURE GOT THAT RITE!! BUT BOY OH BOY IM STILL NOT CONVINCED THEY'd BEAT THE 88 AN 89 Detroit Bad Boy Pistons!!! When Bulls won in 1991 they was facing a warn out injured Detroit team that understood that the commissioner was coming down hard on their play an it was to end!!!!!!! $ IS EVERYTHING I DONT BELIEVE FOR A MINUTE THAT THE 96 BULLS COULD BEAT THE BAD BOYS ESPECIALLY WHEN U ADD 3 CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYERS OF THE PISTONS ON THAT GREAT TEAM YA'LL FULL OF SHH IF U THINK THEY WAS SOME KINDA 🤣 ROLL PLAYERS AN THATS IT THEY WAS CHAMPIONS THAT JOINED THAT TEAM ALONG WITH ROBERT PARISH MJ'S HEADS TO BIG BUT THEN AGAIN WHO CAN BLAME HIM WHEN THE WORLDERS GASING U UP!!!!

One of the best episodes ever. Hands down!! John Salley has so much knowledge and played in 3 different eras.
Won titles in 3 different decades. Crazy.

Salley is too funny, he has a great personality.
"Y'all got gifts now?!" 🤣🙏🏾
Sums up this entire video. Salley is the most hilarious character in basketball hands-down. This an all timer interview for y'all, hit it out the park yet again!
"Break this up, we a team" 👊
😂
J Salley 👑 played with Isiah, Jordan, Kobe, AND Harold Miner. He has stories for days 🍿
And is somehow irrelevant on every one of those teams 😅🤣
AND Harold Miner lol
@@NateWilliams.. he was first off the bench for 2 of those
@@NateWilliams.. Lots of players fill roles and play off the bench..especially on championship teams. It, y'know, sports. Dickhead. Salley is beloved don't run your fuckin mouth
John Salley lived in an affluent neighborhood called Palmer Woods on the Westside of Detroit, which was about 30 mins south of The Palace of Auburn Hills (where the Pistons played).
He was the only Piston who lived in the city and it meant a lot to Detroit.
Definitely
That's cool to hear
That's true!
My grandfather would take me to play golf in Palmer Woods. Down the street was the Detroit Golf Club where I was a caddy for two years.
House was nice. That entire neighborhood is nice
I could listen to John tell stories all day….
John Sally is a throwback to when men where men. He's smart, charismatic, funny, strong. Hell of a classy man
I swear he can be related to jb smoove
😂😂
Right
They definitely could play brothers / cousins.
I use to think they was the same person as a kid 😂
Facts
The first player in NBA history to win a title with three different franchises is John Salley while playing for the Detroit Pistons ( 1989-90), Chicago Bulls ( 1996) and Los Angeles Lakers ( 2000).
Ps Gratitude
Pps Richard Pryor Craps is one of the best Comedy Albums, ever. Which Way Is Up is one the best movies, ever.
Which way is up 😂 #TheReverend
This would be an awesome trivia question. Definitely would’ve got me, although it makes complete sense.
And in three different decades and two milleniums too
I love John Salley telling stories. Played with a lot of big-time players and teams. Being part of the Bad Boy Pistons then Playing with MJ and being with young Kobe and Shaq. Great episode
Those were some good times watching Salley on Best Damn Sports Show Period
👍 agreed
Literally one of the best shows on "cable sports" that 3 man team was legit
Yo, I love John Salley. He's a really smart guy, and a smart interviewer. He knows how to answer those questions.
John Salley is always a good interview
“ your ass should not be down here with these big men “ 😂😂😂 he’s not lying !!!
"dont let them know you read brotha" lmaooo
This might be all the smokes best interview, and they’ve had some great guests.
John Salley have been on a tour lately. He's been on almost every podcast you can name lol
Yeah u know they got a book or movie coming out when they do the podcast circuit 😂
He has to get on the pivot next
One of the best episodes yet. John is funny AF 😂
Wow ... this was one of the most interesting , captivating interviews ever ... John Salley is such a intelligent player/businessman and entertainer ever.... Great Job guys ....
Sal is hilarious!!!! I always love watching his interviews.
hail yeah
Nah Salley too funny man 🤣🤣🤣 he said I thought I had it when Jordan dunked on him 🤣
Great episode and John salley a great storyteller. Now when is the bad boys doc coming?
Sally is hilarious and great for TV
I've been a fan for years. John Salley has lived one of the more unexpectedly eventful and varietal lives of anyone I've seen. He's really living
Funny smart caring open minded nostalgia for the 90s and 80s In basketball and entertainment, there's nothing but love for John Salley over here 🙏☮️
Just look at the man's dilemma at picking who he'd play with and the "best" starting five. That's how you know he's played with some legends.
John always gives excellent interviews insightful views on all types of subjects just a intellectual @ the end of the day
Bruh that isiah impression was on point.
Salley got stories man god I could listen to him tell stories all day, this was a good one
Knuckleheads and all the smoke upload on the same day? W
I was watching that Mark Cuban episode earlier
I'm going back forth right now
And I watched Isaiah Thomas on Pivot earlier today!!! Lol.
AD, you had to see him play. One of my childhood b-ball heroes, my favorite free throw shooter of all-time!
Him and Mark Aguirre was so cold in that mid post area. AD and Alex English are super underrated
As a youngster we would all try to mimick his free routine growing up!!!
Zeke being one the captain of the team was standing up for Robman who originally made the comment about bird!
43:39 - lol , Salley's impression of isiah thomas was spot on
This was my favorite episode. It took us to an era of basketball that was on the wave changing the game. Stories told gave us insight into the players if that day. What I also loved is the progression from player to making plays as a business man and entrepreneur. You young folks pay attention. Take you blessings and let it continue to bless you for a lifetime
right on ✌🏿
💯
It's about time you had spider on the show and I know y'all was smoking good too🌳💚🤣
@Tom Smith ok smart ass what is it 🐓🍭
@Tom Smith It actually is from his podcast that he did a while back
@Tom Smith 🫴🏾🍪 calm down lol it’s never that serious especially when you’re wrong lol
Salley dropping 💎 💎 💎 💎
This pod and pivot best entertaining sports podcast 🎉🎉
Always grateful for Salley. Growing up in Detroit (pre-AAU days) Salley’s basketball camp gave me the exposure + opportunity to take on young talent in the city like Willie Green (current Pelicans coach).
A great episode and John Salley is a phenomenal storyteller!
Loved hearing about the teams and teammates that hr played with and what motivated them.
"His lips are entirely different." That part had me laughing extra hard. 😂
Oh you know this interview bout to be dope as hell John Salley got stories for day enjoy him on Vladtv
Salley did standup. He’s professional level funny
Always respect your interviews, knowledge and game! Vegas love.
Thanks, keep ripping it. Met Matt in Sac Town and what a cool guy.
Thanks guys.☮️💟
Sall is an absolute legend on and off the court
Of all the NBA videos on UA-cam that I have watched over a decade or more, this video is by far the most entertaining and important one...Salley tells stories and anecdotes of his time in the NBA that I have never heard about from other videos...Salley deserves a huge contract from one of the major broadcasters
One of the best episodes you guys have done
Great episode… we need more John salley!!!!! Bad Boys Pistons 89’ 90’ 🔴🔵⚪️
John salley is a very good interviewer he plan in all three eras 80s 90s and 00s
"Got a bunch of kids" Matt always roasting Stak lmao
That pass Isiah thru Salley game 7 1990 was Zeke Sayin YA"LL CANT HANG!!!
all the smoke made a good business move with the timing up of this one. its no coincidence that they drop this episode right after the pivot dropped the Isaiah Thomas interview
Absolutely.....
They knew what they was doin....lol
These are taped months in advance
VLADE DIVAC WAS STILL DOING THAT IN 2001🏀😭😭😭
Another great interview!
18:09👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 great job Stephen Jackson 👁️ see U getting better at podcasting, bac to the video
I like my own comments question do you 🤔🤔💭💭❔ FRFR like literally ?
Another fire interview 👏🏽🗣️
One of the best interviews of anyone I've ever witnessed....but I'm not surprised.
Thanks big john for the time!
Salley's comic timing is insane
Man somebody gotta get Bron and larry bird on this show, I promise you those episodes gonna go stupid crazy
Not hard to believe that it would go crazy, they are 2 of the greatest ever..
Bron not talking unless it's on The Shop
I dont think Larry would want to come to do the show.
they prolly would only do the pivot
@Morales Corner yeah, I know, wishful thinking. Larry my guy tho.
Great down to Earth episode the energy was on point. John is still John, but I can't wait for that Damn roast on Mr.Jackson Moe details Pleazzz
This dude king of avoiding questions and not giving the full details
1992 Dream Team.... Greatest team ever assemble. Ever.
John is funny af 😂
Bet the smoke was heavy in there! I'm sure he's got some stories#
I've seen 6-7 former NBA players say Larry would tell opponents the play before it even started and then still get his buckets.
lol that is funny shit
I been waiting for this episode 😁
Matt reading the hell out of those advertisement notes at the beginning
John Salley he is unique and a real one
Great episode. John Salley ❤
Loved this episode! I wish you’d exclusively get 80s and 90s players!
John Salley is probably the only one that has stories as good if not better than Magic!! I Love listening to John Salley
This is the greatest episode here ever
What a og! Great episode as always
I love John Sally stories
Salley is always a class act. Except 1 the time i was in vegas, came across john at the Ces. I was excited to say hi since he was a piston and i lived in flint mi. I went to speak he was like damn that a nice jersey.... Brigham young... Who you wearing? I turned around to his disappointment it was a Danny Ainge jersey... he said nah... get outta here. Lol we both laughed and he then shook my hand. Definitely a cool moment. 💪🏾👌🏾
Being a black man and hearing this health strategy is helping me rn for real , knowledge is power
U gotta be black to do it ?
@@doransmith1409 bro it’s common in my community specifically to NOT care about regular check ups and health concerns in general, not disrespecting any other culture, much respect
Loved it!
Great episode John funny as hell

Great interview! I was trying to multi-task but the interview kept calling me back. lol
If salleys info is from a reliable source at the end about the health stuff. Big respect to him for sharing that knowledge.
I love sal’s interviews
The health part is stellar
That mandscape comerical had me crying🤣🤣🤣
This was good! 🔥
43:01 - Matt Barnes is crazy! 🤣🤣 "Got a bunch of kids". HAHAHA!
I picked that crack on Stack 5 too!
Matt is witty and slick with it!
