Tube Shocks on Early Chevrolet Cars & Pickups

Converting from original lever arm shocks to the more modern tube shocks can give better ride quality on older vehicles. This rear shock conversion was done by our customer Greg Wheelock on his 1937 Chevy Master Deluxe 4-Door Sedan.

FYI. TR-509 bottom bracket is not bent a 90 as shown. They point upwards, need to heated and bent.

Couldn’t you just put the original bracket on the other side

Could you explain? You mean the lower bracket on the U bolt?

I see what you mean now. Drill the extra hole on the original bottom shock bracket. I have my 40 apart I'm going to check this out.
