    Just bought a 2019 (has a salvage title due to a busted oil pan and seized engine) for my daughter. She's wanting to help tear it down and put it back together. We've watched this and your install video and will for sure refer back when we do the work. Just wanted to say, fantastic videos!!! Actually helpful without being full of useless info and nonsense. I appreciate the time it took you to video and explain your steps.

    This video is outstanding. I never thought a video this complicated and well documented could be done in 49min. Wow. When people say I watched it on UA-cam. There are different levels of that statement. Your video is worthy of showing new MINI techs in their training course. Subscribed for sure. I just bought a 2019 Mini and love doing my own work so just getting a lay of the land for this new addition. Awesome. Thanks!

    I know that guy with pink hair! Really cool that you have the first video detailing how to remove this engine, let alone at home without a hoist. Hopefully this finds its audience, even if it's delayed by a few years and these cars get older.

    my 2017 clubman has about 230k miles on it and is doing that weird turbo wastegate/coolant temp sensor code - I figure it'll be easier to work on with the engine removed. Thanks for your video. Perhaps I'll tackle a bunch of other stuff while the engine is out :D

    Great video. Was thinking of doing this to bypass an extravagant shop bill, but wasn't sure. Your video makes it look alot more doable than I thought. Thanks!

    The pipe on the battery is for the vent plug - the pipe is attached to allow the battery to vent thus prevent it possibly exploding yet also carries away the noxious fumes... Usually only see them if the battery is inside the cabin like on the old X5 e53 - I guess the designers wanted to be absolutely sure no fumes could possibly get into the cabin from the engine bay... Perhaps another example of famous German over engineering... Amazing video thanks for this

    Nick, sometimes if you didn't have bad luck you wouldn't have any luck at all LMAO!
    Did the knock sound like regular old rod knock? could you have ran heavy oil and tranny fluid for 1k mi? idk
    Great video, mini coop mechs don't even need a manual if you follow this!!!
    PS don't care about jack stands, always sticking the wheels under the frame

      Thanks for watching and I'm glad you liked it! The knock did sound exactly like rod knock but pretty quiet and went away when you revved it. My guess is that none of the bearings spun but that they all wore down. Maybe the oil pump went bad or something got in the pickup tube. I haven't looked at any of that yet.

    B48/b46 engine? What’s gonna happen to the old engine? Gonna do a tear down to see what happened to it?

    • @NickSabella
      @NickSabella  Рік тому +2

      Yes its a B46. The old engine is still sitting on the engine stand in my garage. I'm planning on doing a teardown video once I get the rest of my cars all fixed. It might be a little while unfortunately.
