We were actually supposed to get this movie, in fact they had already started filming as seen here. It was a tragic day on set. To this day we never never knew why Buzz snapped. Some say he wanted to make sure Pixar only focused on Toy Story sequels.

The reason they probably didn't make one was perhaps due to insect lifespans, as lots of insects don't live long.

I didn't even know there was supposed to be a Bug's Life 2 at all until I just watched this video. Are you sure there was supposed to be a Bug's Life 2? Because I never heard of it and nor have I heard people talk about it at all.
