How to make plush: Sewing bead eyes

Glass or fake pearl beads are a gorgeous and affordable alternative to plastic or glass eyes with a stem. They come in many colors and are perfect for smaller stuffed animals. I share my tips for hiding knots and alignment.

I have a hard time getting the eyes even. I use pins to mark the eyes and keep adjusting them to get them even but when I attach the eyes I see that they aren't perfect. There is always one a little off. I tried to use the eye spot marked on the pattern but found once I sew it and put the safety eyes on they can still be uneven.

The eye spot marked on the pattern should be a guideline, the plush will shift once it's stuffed. You could try waiting to make the hole on the fabric until it's stuffed, putting pins for the eyes, looking at the plush in a mirror and see if the pins are even first. That's my biggest challenge too, even after hundreds of plush.

You're welcome! You're not doing anything wrong; symmetry is the hardest part of the plush and it doesn't change no matter how long you've been doing it XD Just keep finding new ways to try to make it easier upfront.
