This channel is not only superior with what it has, it is much more superior with it does not contain, no bullshit at all, no murmuring about safety etc every minute.
Well probably because he has a limited audience with his style of content. I tell everyone I can about him. He is quite young on UA-cam aswell. Well since he has been trying it full-time. We all have to do our part to help him. All has to be done is must likely the 75-80% of his views turning into subscribers by hitting one button.
A trick that hydraulic cylinder repair shops will never tell you. The other end ram shaft is usually perfect. A little machining and welding you can flip it end for end.
Thank you. Same is true about my measure tape. From about 10 foot on its golden but those first few feet are why I get a new every couple months. I appreciate you sharing this for my future use.
This is what I thought the world was supposed to be like after a childhood watching MacGyver. This is somehow far more entertaining. Thank you for sharing your time and talent.
I believe the mystery part is a divider block of sorts. I’ve seen these on forklifts with automatic transmissions that have two brake pedals. The right brake pedal or “inching pedal” (middle of the three) is a conventional brake. The left pedal serves as a brake as well as operate a disengaging position within the transmission (as if to place in neutral).
To clarify, there would also be two separate master cylinders. The right pedal/MC should connect to the threaded cap that you removed. The left pedal/MC would connect to the other inlet port as well as connect to the transmission for the disengaging function.
I didn’t think of that. After watching the whole video, it doesn’t look like the exact system I was originally thinking of. There’s a few odd things on that forklift. Cool nonetheless.
Today I learned that in order to fix a forklift, you just need another forklift. Although that puts you in the predicament that you need to acquire an infinite number of forklifts to start working on one.
обычно когда решаешь проблему то ищешь простое решение исходя из ресурсов которые в наличии, я уверен что не имея второго погрузчика можно найти простое решение для ремонта единственного
Or... if it's strictly a mast-bearing change, sometimes the chains can be "derailed" at the lift cylinder's yoke and left attached during the bearing change.
but you already knew it was held by the chain which is a a string of little bolts held together with little plates... the bolt at the bottom doesnt need to be any stronger than any of the pins in the chain
Two things... Those extra bits on the brakes are a line lock, so the machine doesn't roll when applied. The ones I used, you would push the brake pedal and push the button then the brakes would be locked on. Then you would have to push the brake pedal harder to unlock them. Kinda a safety thing... But with your machine it was likely integrated with the transmission... Might be worth fixing now that you manually shift the gears... Watching you try to cut those bushings/spacer with the parting tool made me smile... Been there done that...Had the same troubles... I finally made myself up an adapter plate to mount a grinder with a cut off wheel on my lathe.. Slices those bushing/spacers way faster and way cleaner.. Almost to easy lol... Great video. Thanks. I am jealous of your fork lift... Cheers
i noticed he avoids angle grinders like the plague... ive never seen someone use a sawzall as their preferred steel cutting implement.. even when the filler neck was bouncing around a grinder was never even considered
I remember back in the day.Guys would put drip pans hanging on wire to the bottom of their detroit diesels so they wouldn't leave a trail of oil wherever they went or a big puddle of oil where they parked then just dump it back in the engine when it was full😂😂
A friend of mine would say you can hang a photo of a Detroit diesel on the wall and by the next day there would be an oil stain down the wall under it.
He should have a million subscribers in his channel awesome channel and super funny tooo loved this channel you are great😊😊😊😊😊keep them coming low buck .
Back when I was a forklift field service mechanic, we had a place that couldn't keep rollers in their carriages or masts because they'd use the truck to close railcar doors. We went to solid UHMW in place of the rollers, and it worked great.
With all the equipment that you have, you never run out of idea to post. Nice episode. Lots of trick of the trade. This reminds me when I used to work as fleet mechanic/welder in a company owned mining town in CA. We used to fix weed eater, lawn mower, Cushman utility 3-wheeler utility veh., 1/2 to 1.5 ton trucks, forklifts, cranes, light plants, street sweeper, garbage truck and gasoline powered welders. Sometimes we also help and work with the heavy mechanics fixing loaders, Cats, 150 tons dump trucks and locomotive.
I have to say, I truly admire your approach to projects. You set out clear goals and don't stop until you reach them, but after you do, it's done and that's it. I wish to get to your level of clear thinking one day.
If not already done, get a hose fitting rubber cap to cover that ignition key switch. Personally I would have mounted it under the dash to keep out of the elements. I find your vids very entertaining and hope you can keep producing them.
That's the best part of your channel. The ingenuity to make things work with a little thought and repurposing of things to do different functions than originally intended for. I can relate very well. Keep up the great work. Thank you for your time and effort. It's greatly appreciated.
It almost made me weep the way that old girl has been treated. She will be put out to pasture with light excercise at the mine.Your healing touch is remarkable James.
the way you explain things is nice and easy to follow. I still remember how the big lathe basically operates, mostly. I could make use of a machine like that. typically, I have to go over thing's multiple times and be very familiar with whatever I'm interested in before I can do much with it and that can be a slow process for me.
Someday I wish I could do the stuff that you do man take something and take it and make it out of something workable and useful you are a great man keep on keeping on God bless you brother
i normally wont watch 1 hour video but i got excited when i saw that james put it out and watched the whole thing and wanted more... low buck garage is the best youtube channel! thank you james your the best!👍
I found out a long time ago that a PH8 filter is larger than the factory ones and fits from 67 to 05. 318, 340, 360, and my 05 hemi Chrysler/ Dodge engines. Using them today on my engines. May fit your jeeps too
I always watch your channel and have always got a kick out of all your projects and unique innovations. But recently I realized that watching your channel has actually raised my own self-esteem, finding out that somebody actually has more junk around and has a more severe case of "I'll save it for parts" than I do makes me feel good and less troubled!
The one wire converter would have to be unplugged when the machine was off to not drain the battery, otherwise the field winding would be constantly powered even with the key off and it would kill the battery in short order. Find one of those junk wires that go nowhere that is powered when the key is on, and run it to the alternator field wire or even the adapter that you have and you will be golden. Clearly I wrote this before finishing the video.
One of the best channels out there. This fellow reminds me of the engineers and machinists in Springfield, Vermont in the Connecticut River Valley. His knowledge and ingenuity is next level. I wait for these videos and never miss one.
Appreciate your hard work. You're always entertaining. I too have always been amazed that forklift chains lift and hold such heavy loads on those tiny pins in the chain. Set aside that grade 8 bolt which is usually larger than the chain pins.
Tci, and hyster, are similar , my Heister all terrain 2 Wheel Dr., has the same dash and fenders ,my has a flat head 6 cylinder, and my fork lift has a wet clutch, it is submerged in hydraulic oil, my steering is hydraulic steering with a hydraulic motor at the end of the steering wheel, mine has 18x19.5 Super single six lug wheels big six lug, like your ol dump truck thing that you have, or one of your other vehicles, lol BigAl California,p.s. my rear end on my forklift as a forward and reverse in the rear end, and a Ford four speed, main box, so my fork lift has four forward and four reverse gears, just by changing The rear end shifter knob from forward to reverse, I too, have to change everything on my ol fork lift.
This year I want to work more on the concept that "perfect is the enemy of done." You are the full embody of that mentality and I appreciate you for it.
Perfect timing on the video, we just drove from Scottsdale, AZ through Las Cruces, NM to spend the night in El Paso,TX on our way to see our son in San Antonio, TX. We passed a lot of properties with toys like yours, vehicle bone yards and vintage heavy duty equipment, my wife and I are very jealous.
This entire Guys channel is "hey I actually found a use for all the random parts I kept" and It's amazing!
Validates an entire generation of horders with a can do attitude.
most people do the hoarding part but not the doing part!
yeah he's not dissuading my tendency to hoard mechanical crap, that's for sure.
He's the guy we all aspire to be.
See if it were me, I wouldn’t be able to find said parts & have to buy it anyway.
I still can't comprehend how you only have 147 K subscribers. This content is heads and heels above the other channels.
This channel is not only superior with what it has, it is much more superior with it does not contain, no bullshit at all, no murmuring about safety etc every minute.
do you now channels that have great car content like these. so we can support them?
@@im3sob Simon Fordson there is no talking and this kid can fix anything!

1 hour of video... that's what I'm talking about!!!!!!! simply sensational, thanks again James! thanks from Brasil!!!
I'm thinking of visiting Brazil. Do you have any suggestions?
Very high IQ man with a great sense of humor.
Seriously, this dude is a mechanical genius.
The tray solution to the leaking cylinder was an absolute classic, that made me laugh 😊
“Most people would consider this a a problem, but this is a “problemtunity”. I love that! 😅
Imagine that I'm watching you from the opposite side of the earth , and having good fun
Opposite side means you should not be having fun ;)
A whole hour?! What a thing to wake up to on a Sunday!
Man yesterday I was sitting around wishing for some low buck garage and then today😮 a whole hour video😊 right on time 👏☮️

This is what I thought the world was supposed to be like after a childhood watching MacGyver. This is somehow far more entertaining. Thank you for sharing your time and talent.
I always like to add that I found this channel when I was searching forklifts.
....videos like these are why I've never left.
tHanks for the video.
Another superior video from Low-Buck Garage! Thanks for all you efforts!
+1
Always a happy day when there is a new low-buck garage video out!!!
A nice tip I learnt from my dad is that when cutting a bolt, leave a nut on to guide the saw and create less chance of leaving a burr.
I watch a lot of you tubers but you are by far the most crafty and entertaining . I love your show and i never miss one !!!!!!!!

1hr long video! Yes sir, awesome
Today I learned that in order to fix a forklift, you just need another forklift. Although that puts you in the predicament that you need to acquire an infinite number of forklifts to start working on one.
The same thing occured to me as well! I found that quite humorous.

Having such intimate knowledge of his particular piule of junk and simple ingenuity is a joy to behold!!!🚜😊
Hey man I'm a 37 year forklift mechanic just take the chains off the chain anchors and lift the mast and the carriage will stay sitting on the floor
Or... if it's strictly a mast-bearing change, sometimes the chains can be "derailed" at the lift cylinder's yoke and left attached during the bearing change.
The drip pan, awesome invention!
Always informative and entertaining. Awesome channel.
Thanks, just made Sunday morning happier!!!
I’ve had success with brazing and JB weld also stainless welding on damage cylinders.👍
Your knowledge for this stuff is incredible.
That new shifter is absolutely golden lol, gives the forklift even more personality! I definitely wouldn't clock it as important to running it
Now that I know all the weight you lift is held by that one little bolt, I can’t unsee that.
but you already knew it was held by the chain which is a a string of little bolts held together with little plates... the bolt at the bottom doesnt need to be any stronger than any of the pins in the chain

if I'm not mistaken, there are already two hundred videos in the channel.Congratulations!
I have to say, I truly admire your approach to projects. You set out clear goals and don't stop until you reach them, but after you do, it's done and that's it. I wish to get to your level of clear thinking one day.
To remove the carriage, just block it, take off the lift chain, raise mast, and back up. No ramps or lifting devices required.
You’re my favourite mechanic on youtube
Forks falling of makes things exciting !!! LOL!!
I love watching this over the game thanks for sharing on Super Bowl Sunday 🎉
As usual James, you display awesome engineering skill.
HI, great video, really enjoyed every minute, informative yet amusing. Many thanks from Nr Liverpool UK.

Definitely, another fabulous episode keep these good episodes coming
Great work as always! You always amaze me with your talent!
Bet that brake diverter thing is for the flat tow like trailer brakes
It almost made me weep the way that old girl has been treated. She will be put out to pasture with light excercise at the mine.Your healing touch is remarkable James.
This channel and its projects remind me of the “Mad Max” movies. Absolutely love the fixes, hacks, and brilliance the channel brings to us viewers.
Such a cool forklift! I love the dry sense of humor and "make it work" attitude.
love ya man, just absolute no nonsense
Everytime I watch, I always see something that reminds me of my old favorite Engineer, Reuven Monsaurum.
I think future you, is going to have a lot of use out of that little gem of a forklift.
U R more AMAZING than EVER! THANKS FOR UR VIDEO!
That design for the bolt on the lifting cylinder is insane. And I thought bolts were never ment to take shear forces
the way you explain things is nice and easy to follow. I still remember how the big lathe basically operates, mostly. *- What a fantastic, wide stance yard lift! You did so many complex repairs my head started aching trying to keep up.*
hahahha the steam cleaner that caught fire....epic stuff!!!
Someday I wish I could do the stuff that you do man take something and take it and make it out of something workable and useful you are a great man keep on keeping on God bless you brother
Another great video.
YES! It will be a good day.
Great video as always.
That was one of your best videos yet really enjoyed it👍👍👍👍👍🚜🚜🚜🚜
Excellent work as always Mr buck. Thank you
Love the video's and love looking around the background just to see what crazy things you have. Lol ive see some cool things around the yard.
Another winner of a video! You keep cranking out quality content.

Man I love this channel 😀

Great vid, you got a winner there.
Love these videos! All i can say, even though they come slowly, they are gold!
having some problems with some things this weekend, but your video makes me feel better!
1 hour! Hell yeah!

My all time favorite channel.
Can definitely appreciate the working alone hacks. The cargo strap on the mast cylinder 😂
Those rollers normally come with shaft and all. Which is excentic so you can adjust whem

Always enjoy low buck garage. A video is the highlight of the weekend
My favorite channel! Second is VGG.
You'd make a formidable tech school teacher! Thanks!
James, we need more burritos 🌯 !!!!!🎉
I saw some other youtuber use jb weld on a gouged up cylinder with good results
Great video, I like the low cost repairs
An hour of Low Buck. My day is made.
