I think it's incredibly wise of your parents to put themselves first as all their children have left to live their own lives. How exciting for them to have a new start together, and to downsize to something more manageable and reasonable ❤ I've been watching your pink + purple days, so I get it girl, but now you and Anthony can plan to have the home for all family gatherings if you're into it!

I’m starting to think most people here don’t understand how complicated and expensive it is to buy a house...unless you’re actually rich you don’t just decide to buy a house at a whim. Cute idea for her to take the house but I’m sure if it was an option they would’ve done it. She’s already said in a couple comments that it’s too expensive and they don’t want to rent it from her parents.🤷🏻♀️
True, there’s a lot of expenses that come in when buying a home that people don’t take into consideration. Unfortunately some people buy and go way over their heads.

People may think it’s dumb but I totally understand how you’re feeling. My parents left my childhood home when I was a sophomore in college. That’s the only home I’ve ever known . When we had to walk away I shed many tears, even though I lived in my own place. Their new house is beautiful but it’s not the home I grew up in!

Why don’t you buy the house? I am 45 and my older daughter wants to buy mine when I sell. When your older it’s just too much to keep up with all that I get it!
I would either rent it out or give it to my kids. That's why we work to buy a house! It is a great asset to keep. I am guessing they can't afford to move out without selling and meg can't afford it or doesn't like the area.
@@anh7807 Her parents are getting older, maybe they want the profit from the house to put towards their new house to either have no house payment or less to payoff before retirement. I don't understand why people meddle in these type of personal decisions.

I understand completely about the house you grew up in! My parents moved last year after 23 years as they were empty nesters in a huge house. I still can't drive by the old house 😫 Just know, whereever they are, it will feel like "home".
my parents just sold my childhood home and it was so bittersweet🥺 the day they had to be out of the house i went and sat in there and just reminisced of all the memories we made in that house and cried. you guys will always have those memories in your hearts.

My mom still lives in my childhood home. I love it. I won't even let her get rid of our home landline lol she doesn't even use it. But it was the first number I remembered. It represents my childhood so..🤷♀️ 😂

I’m an OG! We’re the same age, and I’ve been watching since the beginning.
I know exactly what you’re going thru. A few years ago, my grandparents sold our family farm, where two generations grew up. It was truly our extended family’s home base. We’d spend every holiday there, have bonfires, they had their own pumpkin patch & playground & playhouse for us grandkids... it was so sad.
But my aunt took over hosting & her house has been our new ‘home base’ now for years, and it feels no different ♥️ It’s truly about the people, not where you are!
I’ll miss that house so much and I completely understand how you feel. When one door closes another door opens. Love you much Meg❤️
I can understand the change for family dynamic. We grew up in the same house since I was 8. I’m now 33.
Sometimes your parents just have to downsize when all the kids are out, but I know it’ll be a great time in the new house.

Oh honey, I get the home attachment. Like your parents, my husband and are are ready to do the same. We are excited to downsize but the day we leave I will crumble. The kids can’t even think about that day. Homes hold so many of our memories, it’s natural to grieve when you are no longer making memories there anymore.
It is a big deal! Your parent's house is dear to me even if I do not know you. Best of luck to everyone.
I felt the same when my grandpa ( rip) sold his family’s farm house I helped him clean it out and with the process. Such memories going back to the pink and purple room. Aww.... I Always Loved your Parents house. It was just so cozy, Beautiful and warm and you have so much room in there to Gather around..... But I get it.. when the kids start moving away it gets empty and Lonely and that empty space becomes forgotten you don't need it anymore. I wish them New Beginnings!!

When my grandma passed away we had to make the hard decision to sell her home of 40 years. It’s a sad situation. & we always think how we should have kept it.
Awww Meg I totally feel all the emotions you’re feeling about your parents selling the house. My parents sold my childhood home a few years ago and it was a very emotional day saying goodbye to the only house I grew up in. Saying goodbye after 25 years worth of holidays and memories was rough!!

We have a very similar story meg! I’m 31, I have a older brother and younger sister. My sister is 6 years younger and my brother is 4 years older. When I had my daughter, who is now 8 this Sunday!, she was about 4 months and my parents got rid of the house we “kind of” grew up in. I was about 8 when we moved there so it was basically our home. I was so excited to share those memories with my daughter and never got to experience that. It was also bitter sweet. Good luck to your parents on closing a very special chapter and opening a new one! Your son will now have to make memories of his own at his grandparents house!🥰 love you guys! And kaden is the most precious baby boy ever!!!❤️❤️

My grandma just did the same thing. Her and my papa had the same home for almost 21 years. We had so many parties, bbqs, games, and events at that house and it was bittersweet to leave it. My papa passed 5 years ago and it was too much for her and my brother (who lives with her too) it was a 2 story 2400sq ft house with a huge backyard and pond. She moved this January into a smaller 1 story house and it is so much better! We will always have those memories in that house, but it was time for someone else to take it over and love it like we did. ❤️

@@LaVitaDiMeg whatever you and Anthony get approved for a loan you could give your parents that whole amount and then just make payments to them each month as a “mortgage” for the rest you guys should totally buy that house from them it would be perfect for your family!
@@Gmariex0726 if they take out a loan and give that to their parents, they would still need to pay back that loan every month to the bank while also giving her parents monthly payments, so that would be a lot of money if I’m understanding you correctly

I completely understand the feeling. My grandparents built their log cabin on 82 acres of land and myself and all my cousins had all of our holidays and birthdays there. As well as big life moments. A few years after my papa passed in 2008, my grandmother could not keep up on all of it and the horses so she sadly sold it and moved into town. Also I remember watching when you had the pink and purple room. You were honestly one of the very first I started watching here on UA-cam. Still love your videos to this day.

My parents literally just did the same thing. A couple months ago they moved out of the house me and my brother grew up in, spent majority of our lives in (I’m 27 and he’s 30) and made so many memories in. It’s sad because I moved out of my parents house and got married a few years ago and I didn’t even get to say goodbye to it or look at the inside one more time. Was definitely bittersweet. The house was just too much for my parents to keep up with. I couldn’t be more happier though! My parents wanted to be near their kids so they moved into a cute little bungalow 5 minutes away from us. Family is all that matters :)
I lived in the same house for 18 years and moving was SO SAD but it was exciting so I completely understand the bittersweet feeling!! Almost 5 years out of the house now and I still miss it and the memories!

I remember feeling so upset with the house I grew up in was sold. I of course was dramatic and cried the last time I was in it. But we quickly made new memories and it was no longer sad. Just happy memories in a new place and amazing memories in the old house. Excited for your parents!
